Not exactly weird, but I haven't gotten around to pitching it.

Ultra-pulpy adventure story set in the retrofuturisitic 1930s about a group of adventurers on the hunt for mythical treasure/places while the Third Reich is hot on their heels.

...

You'd BEST pitch that one day, preferably when I have more time on my hands.
So, it's come to my attention that I really don't appreciate poetry, and this is a problem because I plan on participating in certain contests in which poetry crops up, and community votes are involved, etc. This means I have a natural bias towards narratives > poetry, and it's pretty much because I'm ignorant about what makes good poetry.

Help me change this.

I want to know what to look for when reading poetry; moreover, I want to know what are good ways to read poetry. And what will make it more enjoyable overall? And what will help me appreciate the work that goes into making it (short of writing a bunch of poetry myself which I may do one day anyway to shore up my own weaknesses as a writer)?

If you have any advice, I am all ears.
Some time tomorrow or during the weekend I'll get my first IC post up (along with IC posts for a couple other threads I've been forced to neglect). I'm just now getting ready to go home from class.

I might post tonight if I have a lot of energy.
Made a slight adjustment to Maire's traits. I was thinking...why would someone who is greedy and worships the merchant goddess be known as untrustworthy? Being self-serving isn't the same as being untrustworthy. I've added the 'Slow', because she's a heavier gal, and 'Loud' traits instead. And now off to work.

This is fine. Proceed.

Can we say we migrated during the winter and arrived at spring? I'm thinking Eliz gaining her council spot by being able to forage and raid as the tribe went enough that people didn't starve.

Your exile began in the Ash season. Your journey itself took two seasons, and so continued on through the Harvest season. It was during the Harvest season that you discovered the Hidden Valley.

You've spent the winter months in the Hidden Valley. In this time, Eliz has been very useful in foraging for food, and she also raided during the clan's journey in the Ash and Harvest season. For these reasons, she's been made a part of the Council. Perhaps she's the most recent addition and has to prove herself in the eyes of some of the Council?

EDIT: For reference, remember that 1 season = 60 days split into two half-seasons. So, your clan's trek to find the Hidden Valley took 120 days.

Also remember that the word "month" probably isn't in the Urlandi vocabulary. Don't worry if you accidentally say it in the RP; but try to refer to things by seasons and half-seasons. Also feel free to refer to the seasons by their names. "Rising Ash" and "Waning Moon," for instance.
A heads up to everyone: I will be largely unavailable until Thursday of this week. That means the final question series will go up this Thursday. I'll try and make it a three question one to make up for the lost time.
Now we just need to figure out how long we've been exiled. A month? A year?

Okay, so this is a spot where I feel I ought to weigh in.

I'm going to say you guys have been exiled four seasons. This gives you time to have found the Hidden Valley, dealt with the harsh winter seasons, and have gotten a little building done so most folks actually have houses. However, this coming planting season is your first one in the Valley. This is also your first Sacred Time since being exiled.
@Shorticus

Can we start out with nuclear warheads?

Yes. However, starting out with nukes means you blew up the world, and we had to wait for the universe to go through enough Big Bangs until we randomly got a new world with the same characteristics as the present roleplay with a nation called Urland only without the nuclear warheads.

So, the end result is that you don't have nuclear warheads.
You three are 100% free to work out the bandit raid, yeah. Player-added lore for the clan is good lore for the clan. Invent away!
@Polybius Oh, those are reputation REQUIREMENTS, not reputation REWARDS. Cool, cool.

I've already picked out the missions I want to do, so I'll send you a PM tomorrow with my content and then make an IC post.
The votes are tallied! I had to exercise my tie-breaking powers for one of the votes.

Because our clan attempted to assassinate the High King, we are known to be unscrupulous people and some clans assume ill of us. Many clans in the Valley are similarly disparaged for their history, however. We are better at stealth than other clans.

We have settled on some hills along the river, giving us a defensible position and fertile ground. We are neither close to other clans nor distant from them.
