Goals:
To possess what she lost, though she doesn't know what that is yet...

Past Life:
Edith had to work and hold onto everything she ever got.  The youngest of three sisters and two brothers, she learned very quickly that she needed to do whatever she could to just stand out and get attention.  She acted out, becoming a bit of a brat.  She got the attention she craved even if it was only to receive discipline. It taught her a valuable lesson.  That she could control her life.  She could get what she wanted, even if you had to do bad things.

She put all her efforts into standing out and getting the best results for herself.  It didn't matter if she studied all the time, as long as she got the best grade, so cheating was definitely a solid tactic.  She used her friends to get to other more popular friends, and then left her old ones in the dust when they were no longer useful to her.  She would keep herself attractive and fit, and flirted with boys so they would do her favors.  Control was the name of the game.  She had to control everything in her life and had to control the people in it.  To say she was possessive would be an understatement as she resorted to ever more cruel and backhanded ways to remove the competition.

This served her well in the position of real estate broker.  Having been an agent herself and quite successful, she took all the tests, greased all the palms, slept with all the district managers she needed to get an office and a team all her own, and she put her little minions through hell.  Quitting was not something she would allow.  It wasn't part of her plan and she couldnt have that.

Finding a useful, rich, and gullible man was all too easy for her as well.  She treated her marriage as another little stepping stone in acquiring as much possessions, money, and influence as she could.  Her mindset changed the moment she held her first child, a daughter just like her.  Finally she actually thought of something other than herself.  She became a doting mother, obsessed with the safety, health, and success of her children, having four of them in all.  

They had lives without troubles, but being as controlling as she was, her love was met with equal parts bitterness as each of them had ever single parts of their childhood planned and adhering to a strict schedule.  Even in love she could not change who she was deep inside, even if her heart was technically in the right place.  

It all came to a screeching and crashing end when in a car, her oldest daughter refused to go to law school like Edith planned.  The refusal became an argument, the argument became shouting, the shouting led to carelessness, and carelessness led to Edith crashing into a guard rail.  

Her daughter survived.  She did not.

Race: Ifrit
The Elemental Races were made as part of genetic manipulation of elemental magics into biological organisms.  While the initial tests were all seen as barbaric, there was a secret society that continued conducting the experiments. Eventually they found some successes and eventually the new type of humanoid came to light.  The public opinion was mixed.
 While these elementals had some differences biologically and some magical aspects, they didn't just shoot or control their element but instead personified it in other ways.
Ifits were designed to be the soldiers, their bodies burning hot with passion and an instinctive need to compete and destroy.  They resemble humans that are either bright yellows to orange, to red, or bronze to charcoal black in skin tone.  Their hair and cracks on their skin resemble burning fire or molten magma.  This army of super soldiers lasted about as long as the first battle before they turned on their generals, wanting freedom more than anything else.  As a culture, the Ifrit exist in small groups or family units and tend to be nomadic, even if it just means moving from one part of a city to another.  Their cultural identities seem to change from one family to another.  They make not only good soldiers but rather brilliant artists, metal workers, and entertainers, whose outward passions actually allow them to create rather than destroy.  They do not do so great in the cold and water makes them sluggish.  They also need to eat more than a normal human.  On the flipside they resist the heat and are stronger and faster than normal humans.

Appearance:Kyros stands a towering 6'2" of rippling muscle.  Kyros wears a selection of martial arts Gi's which he intentionally rips and tatters, very very old fashioned which makes him stand out in the crowd.  It's kind of the point.  He tries to look like the super hero The Phoenix Dawn from a series of comic books he came across.  Much like the character, Kyros has a habit of showing off his muscles. If he could find a decent red cape, he'd probably wear it to.  He shuns the use of weapons, the closest he'd probably get is brass knuckles or guantlets and weighted boots.

Backstory:Kyros was forged in battle, and tempered in blood.  He doesn't remember his parents.  Whether he was sold, or kidnapped, or just forgotten, it just never really mattered to him.  All he remembers is the brutal world of the arena.  He and other children his age were only taught the barest of education before the rest of their day was intended for hellish combat exercises and bone breaking sparring drills.  Kyros was a natural.  He took to the adrenaline and the thrist for battle like it was his true calling.  He would charge in, sometimes casting aside his blade and turn even a proper sparring duel into a bloody brawl, the fire in his eyes and hair igniting like a bonfire to enhance and entrance the experience.  He did it for his sponsors and trainers, his fellow gladiators, all of whom he thought of as family.  Mostly though, he did it for glory.  For the fame and accalades of an appeased crowd.  It was in their eyes that he felt alive, that he felt like something the world needed to acknowledge.  Maybe it was a bit of defiance for his lot in life.

By his teens, he was an arena name and would commonly be pitted against heroes seeking to get some of the prizes the arena offered.  Sometimes he won, sometimes he lost, but whenever he was on a line up, it always drew a crowd.  Kyros hated to lose, and would often go into dangerous sulks, destroying training equipment in the process.  His keepers tried to placate him as best they could.  Girls, Alcohol, Drugs... even to a teen these things were tempting and there was no such thing as law in the arena.  However it was a simple set of comic books that would change Kyros' life.

Almost like he found a hero, a father figure, it was a character, Phoenix Dawn, a human who had unmatched strength and fighting spirit.  He struck out and challenged monsters and villains and made the world a better place one punch at a time.  Kyros was awe-inspired.  It completely changed his goals, his personality, his outlook on life.

His hands, his weapons, they could make things better for people.  The books showed him rather idealistic world outside the arena walls and also made him aware of how 'evil' his keepers were.  Kyros began his training, using the comic books as training aides in an attempt to develop the style the book had shown.  It should have been impossible, but he was able to tap into his own mana and mold it in ways no one known has tried before, developing his own martial arts style.  Upon learning to increase his power beyond his limits, he fought for his freedom and broke out, swearing to one day return and tear down the arena with his own hands after destroying the slave traders that filled it with young stolen warriors.  

He's been a mercenary vigilante ever since.   Hero for hire.

He has the occasional run in with crime bosses, corrupt officials, nihilistic mages, and other villains.  There are alot of people going after his head, both lawful and unlawful elements but he seems to appreciate the notoriety and the challenge.  He wants to be a symbol that there is no army big enough or door strong enough to keep him from dispensing justice.  Going after one such 'untouchable' crime lord was how he met his companion Euterpe, and since then, he has been thinking of forming a mercenary company.

Personality:Bombastic, larger than life, and fully believing he is doing the right thing.  Kyros is stubborn, self-sure, and given to the idea of the superhero style and disposition.  He is often times to loudest in the room, and fully taken to being in to spotlight and the attention he gets.  In the field, he is direct, hard hitting, and prone to being the front line powerhouse.  He will most assuredly go out of his way to protect others and bring swift justice to the villainous.  He is a team player, but often views others as liabilities.  They are not as strong, or as tough, but he doesn't openly complain, saving them brings him glory and reaffirms his already massive ego.  He isn't a hero.  He is THE HERO!  The one that everyone should strive to be.  His obnoxious, holier than though, goody goody boy scout antics no doubt gets on others nerves, but Kyros always means well.  Outside of the front lines, Kyros is a gentle giant and a lovable idiot. He will attempt to always cheer up others and encourage them to always improve.  He loves nothing more than a day well spent and then relaxing with his companions, swapping stories and talking about the future.

On the flip side,  He is naive, ignorant, and gullible, thus he can be manipulated easily.  His wild passions can lead him to a burning furious anger, and for someone as strong as he is, that can lead to a lot of collateral damage.  Still, quick to anger, quick to forgive.  His personality is that of a roaring campfire, all or nothing.  He needs others to reign in his wrath.  When he finds friends or those willing to help him, he treats them like family, and when he has that, there is literally no limits to how far he would go for them.

Skills:
Kyros' expertise and speciality are completely dedicated to martial arts and wrestling.  Having been an underground pit fighter, his style is as showy as it is effective.  Out of this tough and brutal mode of hand to hand combat, Kyros developed an surprisingly esoteric martial art he calls the Shining Phoenix Style.  This martial arts style can also employ unconventional weapons, utilizing things like bar stools, musical instruments, road signs, bicycles, vending machines, etc to great effect. 

He has also developed some tactical skills when it comes to combat, knowing the eb and flo of a battle and how to use the environment and his opponents strengths and composure to his advantage.  The environment also becomes his weapon as his brawling style has no semblance of a disciplined honorable warrior.

Kyros had also developed a pretty good arm and is capable of chucking items with devastating precision and power.

In his travels, Kyros has picked up a fair bit of useful skills.  He can command a room with his presence, inspiring others to greatness or trying to convince them what the righteous path might be, condemning those who take advantage of others.  He also developed a keen eye for cause and effect and how it pertains to society.  Sometimes slugging some thugs won't fix the problem, sometimes you have to go after the bosses who hide behind their money and walls of concrete.

Other than that, he's pretty unskilled when it comes to technology or anything complicated.  He knows a few things, but he just isn't very intelligent.  He views those who build, craft, understand, and teach with the upmost respect, mainly because his skill set is so limited.

Abilities:
Golden Fists of Battle (Enhancement-Lvl 2)- Roaring with all the fire of the immortal Phoenix, Kyros's body surges with the power of the sun!   This enhancement actually lights his fists and feet in golden fire and gives him a bright aura.  While under its effects, Kyros has the strength to perform legendary feats.  He can leap a mile in any direction landing without harm, punch a hole through an airship's steel hull, and tear lesser object in two with his bare hands.  Using this power, Kyros has become a bane to the wicked everywhere, a regular superman to dispense cleansing light!  This power lasts only for a particular battle and at it's conclusion, his mana spent he cannot use any of his other abilities until he rests.

Hurl to the Horizon (Technique-Lvl 1)- Distant foes are but cowards before the Phoenix as the earth before its claws become its weapon.  Kyros may use this ability to pick up an object and throw them.  This defies physics in such a way that would make it impossible for the object to support its own weight.  For instance, a car lifted by its bumper would simply rip the bumper off.  Not with this technique, that whole car is taking to the sky.  Any object Kyros can lift, can be thrown up to a mile, the whole thing.
   
Skin of Iron Technique (Enhancement-Lvl 1)- The power of the Phoenix is not in its muscles but in the fire that surrounds it's body.  None may harm it and mar its splendor.  Concentrating on his own mana, Kyros' skin takes the toughness of armor plating without hindering his movements in any way.  This ability needs to be activated, and thus he is not armored all the time.

Foe Scattering Shockwave (Technique-Lvl 1)- Armies cannot stop the Phoenix or the Dawn.  Those who try are washed away for their impudence.  With a clap, smashing the ground, or someones face, the blow reverberates in a shockwave up to 20 meters.  This could knock foes down or back, and causes a great deal of damage to the environment.

Inventory:
Kyros has to eat alot, so he barely has more money than maybe lasting from week to week.  Other than that, his backpack contains some snacks, a bedroll, his comic books, some of his trophies from battle, his canteen, and occasionally a flask of something particularly unhealthy for him.  He lives a rather spartan lifestyle.

Misc: Kyros follows the mercenary and hero lifestyle because he believes its the only thing he is really good at.  He understands the irony that his ability to bring pain and suffering to the wicked doesn't really make the world any better, so he's open to trying other things.  He's hoping his reputation would stop a fight before it starts but he tries desperately to do anything that keeps people from being too afraid of him.  He needs the social acknowledgement.  He tries not to kill anymore, a very difficult challenge he accepts.

Relationship sheet:
Euterpe Joyfalls his ever stalwart companion on his quest to bring Justice to the villains of the Moons.  Euterpe keeps him on his feet and grounded even as he protects her and teaches her to be more assertive.  They are polar opposites in terms of personalities, but he treats her like his best friend, commonly taking advantage of her meekness to share a playful jabs but he knows her better than she thinks and understand she needs a light touch.  She is smarter than him after all.  Alot of his happiest recent memories is sitting with her on some high scenic venue, eating ice cream, and talking about music.
