They say it's about the journey, not the destination. This is true of many things. Pizza delivery is not one of them.

TFW you know what you want to happen but the words aren't cooperating. Why is plot suddenly so much harder to write?

Glad to see I'm not the only follower of Lord Cato, god of wisdom, on this most auspicious Superb Owl Sunday.

Bio

I am an adult, though I don't usually act like it. I'm a voracious reader, and not overly picky about books. I am artistic in a variety of areas, including music, drawing, writing, and sculpting. I have a minor obsession with dragons, and love the color violet. Fantasy is my preferred genre, be it past, future, urban...as long as it has a fantasy flavor to it. I also like scifi, mystery, and some horror. I am crazy, and I like tormenting my characters. But I don't bite...much. ^.~

The moorcat gave the offered hand a casual sniff, but didn't seem overly interested in the man, if he wasn't going to hurt his girl. She nodded at Ethan. "He's Wyth...I'm Amuné. Amuné Ris." Her voice was quiet, like she was afraid of being overheard. She watched him count the coins. She'd rarely had any money of her own, since her village generally relied on a barter system. The sight of the coins brought to mind the time her father had taken her on a trip with some Ydra to another town for a fair. He'd let her have a few coppers all her own to buy whatever she wanted, but only after he showed her how to haggle. Her chest ached at the thought, and she tried to shake it off.

Ethan was asking what she'd like to eat. Before she could come up with an answer, the girl's stomach gave a loud gurgle. Amuné colored, hiding her head in the moorcat's fur out of embarrassment. "Anything would be good," she said, her voice muffled. "Thank you. Wyth needs meat. It can be cooked, but not too much seasoning."

@Rtron I think he is. I wouldn't be at all surprised.

And yes, Vaelieve is a thing. I don't ship, and I ship it. ^.~

Alley

The child was troubled to find her path blocked by a fence, and not one that she could climb easily. At the sound of the man behind her, she whirled around, and Wyth moved in front of her protectively. But even though she'd stolen from him, the man didn't seem angry. Once he had his breath back, he smiled and offered to buy her something. The girl's eyes widened in surprise, and she placed a hand on her cat's shoulder to tell him to stay. The hunk of bread she'd grabbed was indeed hard, but could she trust this man? She chewed her lip nervously as she examined him. His clothes weren't too expensive, just everyday things. A pack, so maybe he was travelling? The map certainly would imply such. His expression was gentle, and his face seemed open. Her gaze lingered on his hair. "Ydran..." she murmured. Her father had told her that the Ydrans had great respect for their Magi. Certainly more than Murans. The girl's expression clouded at the memory. She'd never see him again, never watch him keep a kite aloft on a still day.

She dashed the tears from her eyes and focused on the man in front of her once more. If he was Ydran, maybe she'd be okay with him, at least for a bit. And he would give her something to eat, which she needed badly. The girl used her free hand to brush her bangs out of her eyes and gave him a small, uncertain smile and a nod. "Heel," she told Wyth, tangling her fingers further in his thick fur and staying right next to the large cat. He turned his head and butted it against her shoulder, making a soft sound in his throat to reassure her. She knew he would protect her if anything went wrong. "Wyth too?" she asked suddenly. The moorcat couldn't really hunt in a city, and he'd been eating less than he was used to as of late, since he was reluctant to leave her side.

@Ryver et Rhine Ah, well yeah. But it doesn't rule out the specialty for future players/characters.

@Ryver et Rhine This is why I asked for the differentiation between banned and reserved. ^.~

By the way, anyone can play an NPC, right? So we need to be thorough in their personality description, so they don't get messed up? Or will it be determined by popular opinion?
In Over 11 yrs ago Forum: Advanced Roleplay
@Ryver et Rhine Hm. So if an NPC has a specialty, a player character can have that specialty? Or other people can use the character? Sorry, I'm not sure which you mean.
@Scout Haha, fire is always the answer. Take your time, man. *hugs* I can be patient as long as I know you'll post eventually.
