Yay! Toys, gunfire, explosions, and one-liners!
As she stepped into the testing area Saf heard the scientists' voices calling in through the radio built into her suit's helmet, "All you have to do is eliminate the turrets."

That seems a little too easy, Saf thought to herself, she'd been in the same position on the battlefield a dozen times or more. All she had to do was keep in cover and move around to the turret's weak rear side in order to shut it down. As she sood waiting for the test to start, expecting panels to rise out of the floor to provide simulated battlefield terrain, Saf was surprised to see six turrets rising up out instead. Okay, they did say turrets, now where's the cover?

Without warning the turrets began firing, steady streams of energy pulses tracking round towards the soldier as she stood in the empty space between them. By reflex Saf pulled her arms up to protect her face, feeling the surge of energy from the implants inside her body as she did. Saf's shielding sprung to life just as the first pulse hit, splattering harmlessly against the glowing field surrounding her.

Okay, well that works too, she thought to herself as she stood in the middle of the maelstrom of energy, unharmed thanks to the wonders of modern technology, but how do I take the turrets down?

Remembering back to her mishap in the armoury Saf reached her hand out towards the nearest turret and concentrated, instantly causing a beam of light to project from the focusing len set into her palm. The beam stopped short of the turret, stabilising as a blade about a meter long. Not quite what I hoped for, she thought with a smile, So it's a sword, I can work with that.

Pushing off with her leading foot Saf had planned to sprint towards the turret, but instead she found herself launched several feet into the air, leaping clear of the turrets' energy blasts as the automated guns pivoted to try and catch up with her swift movements. Quickly recovering herself Saf shifted her weight, spinning vertically in the air to drop herself down behind the turret she'd been heading for.

Woah, cool, she thought, reaching back and effortlessly slicing the turret in half with her blade, before quickly darting to one side as the others locked in on her once more. This is going to be easy!

Pushing herself as fast as she could move Saf darted towards the next turret, dodging from side to side to avoid getting hit by the energy bolts flying towards her from its emitter lenses. Projecting blades from both hands to slice the turret into pieces she jumped forwards through the mechanical remains, using them for cover to close with the third.

In less than a minute the soldier stood standing in the middle of the training arena surrounded by the sparking and burning machine parts which moments before had been the turrets. Looking up at the surveillance cameras recording her performance Saf relaxed, letting her blades and shielding snap off leaving her in the middle of the darkened chamber, lit only by the burning debris.

"Is that all you got?" She asked, smiling inside her helmet.
No problem, everyone's free to post whenever they want and are able to. :)
EDIT: taking some liberties and making Nana change into her fae appearance now, if that's okay haha.

Chuck's already been playing around with the system settings to mask his own appearance so I can't see it being a problem, and not to be mean but she's far more likely to want to change her appearance than he should want to. :)
@Skythikon

I love it when a plan... totally falls apart.
If he has been in the Meditation Gardens or other tranquil areas it is possible he has at least met Koren within the past 2 months.

It's possible he may have been there, as Som would've been preparing for his Trials during that time, but usually he prefers to meditate alone due to his tendency to strip down and whip himself during such sessions (as hinted at in his 'Secrets'.)

Well, Xid's not been teaching but he's been training for his Knight Trials within the last 2 months since his arrival. He's only a two week old Knight at this time and currently waiting for assignment, so it's possible the two could've crossed paths.

I'd say it's quite likely they'd have met, since I can see the instructors putting two Padawans who're so close to their Trials together for sparring sessions and group meditations as preparation for their upcoming tests. Also six weeks should've been long enough for the two of them to form some sort of friendly relationship if they'd been training together during that time.

Or if not friendly, perhaps a rivalry? Som's calm and passive nature can be very irritating to some people, especially if he keeps easily dodging their attacks and knocking them out cold by tapping their forehead with his Force-enhanced palm.

Would your character possibly have visited the Jedi Healing-focused academy on H'Ratth anytime between 4 and 8-10 years ago?

Since he failed his Trials both six years and three years before the Sacking it's possible he may have been sent to H'Ratth on either or both of those occasions for recovery, although as the second time was due to his altruistic nature rather than combat skill the six years ago option would be more likely.

Would Lea have been in a position six years ago to assist with the recovery of a Padawan after his Trials?

Any other characters can also answer that if they think theirs may have visited there too.

I'd prefer not to write Som into someone else's story without their permission first. :)

By the way, has anyone noticed the skillful way I avoided mentioning the term 'Shaolin monk' anywhere in Som's profile?
My real gripe is the Anvil really.

Annnd... I still say side with Templars. It would give an interesting Dynamic between the Amell family.

Just my opinion.

The Anvil is an absolute, as I want to keep the option of 'new' golems turning up open for the roleplay, and this couldn't happen unless Branka is down there churning them out.

As a side note to the relationship with the Amell family, Leliana knew Bethany, Carver and Marian as children while at Lothering, and Bethany still recalls Sister Leliana's exciting stories when living in Kirkwall, before venturing into the Deep Roads and becoming a Grey Warden.
@Saarebas Any time you're ready. :)

I've expanded the Thedas Timeline to cover most of the events from DA:O now, if anyone disagrees with any of the choices I've made and would like me to reconsider please feel free to give me a shout.
@Pripovednik "Your finest Whispering Wine you happen to have, a Fiery Tongue if not. 45th legion if possible. Oh and a plate of your special, if you would be so kind! If you have change that would be agreeable,"

Geoff sucked air in through his teeth and shook his head in a dismissive manner as he considered the shapeshifter's request, "I do have some Whispering Wine in stock, but only the '94 vintage, which isn't particularly good stuff to be honest, and none of the Fiery Tongue right now. Could I tempt you with some '63 Howling Blood instead? It has the same fruity bouquet as the Whisper while sharing a spicy kick reminiscent of the Tongue."

As he spoke Geoff knelt down behind the bar and groped around near the floor before pulling out a dusty old bottle of thick red wine. Holding it over the counter for Elderi to examine for himself. "Either way it'll be a silver piece for a glass, or two gold for the bottle." For a moment Geoff's eyes darted down towards the rare and precious coin being offered in payment and doing some quick calculations in his head he nodded with a smile, "And I should have no problem making change for you either, as long as you don't mind taking gemstones."
Is this better Boss? :)

Much better, more balanced and with the opportunity for Wrath to take over during combat and 'hulk out' Paxton into a close combat killing machine. :D
