Jack 'Bruiser' Murdock - Floor 4 - LOCCENT Mission Control

"Captain Henry McTier. Though people call me scotty- Though I'm not really sure why. You must be one of the early birds, sadly you didn't quite get the worm and had to wait for the rest of us. It's an odd feeling being second, I usually get to where I need to go first. Nice couple of girls you got there. Twins? Or just sisters?"

"An early bird maybe, but not too early, I only arrived last night so I'm still as much in the dark as the rest of you." As he spoke Bruiser shook Scotty's hand with a firm grip, trying to keep his fingers loose to prevent causing and harm before lifting his hand to rub the back of his neck.

"And yeah, my girls are twins, and quite the handful." Bruiser said with a bashful smile, "Luckily my brother's looking after them for me while I'm over here, he's got plenty of time on his hands since... well, since everything happened." Turning his gaze away Bruiser didn't want to trouble the stranger with his family woes, especially not right after meeting the man.

"How about you? Got any family back home? You sound like you're from Scotland, right?" Bruiser continued after a brief pause, trying to change the subject away from his own situation.
Waving his hand gregariously Martin gestured for the stranger to take a place by the fire. "You're welcome to join us... Cassius, was it? We were just discussing our next venture and would be more than willing to hear your own opinion on the matter. Which area do you think would provide the best work for a noble group of warriors, such as ourselves?"

Just out of curiosity, how long should I leave it before making my next post? Do you want to have all Jedi captured and do a 'prison entry' scene, or something similar, first?
Since I've already posted my capture scene, any Sith who want to claim one of the three slots at the party feel free to let me know. Som didn't put up much of a fight so you could easily haul him in without interfering too much with your busy looting and pillaging schedule.
Well, that's it, IC's open.

Please don't do exposition dumps in your first post, we have the character's life stories on their profile sheets if we need to check anything. Instead try to just give the immediate reason as to why they're on a Nevarran beach around a campfire with a group of mercenaries, and then throw in any ideas, suggestions or comments on where you think the party should head to next.

Try to highlight speak where possible, preferably using a colour not being used by another character, and keep paragraphs short, less than 10 lines. If you start finding yourself talking about something other than when you started the paragraph, start a new paragraph, don't just ramble on. This should help make posts easier to read quickly, as well as making your points clearer and more precise.

Feel free to throw up images, videos and links when you feel they may be appropriate as well. The site has functionality for that so we may as well use it. :)
The fire exploded in a shower of sparks as Martin threw another wet branch into the middle of the blazing flames. For a moment he simply sat back and watched as the log sizzled and popped, the water boiling inside the branch before burning away. It was good to be back on dry land again, especially after so long at sea. He'd always hated the oceans and to feel solid ground under himself once more made him much more relaxed. Not throwing up every ten minutes helped too.

Turning his gaze away from the flames Martin let his vision slowly adapt to the gathering darkness. It was too late to set out tonight, the Siren's Call II had run into a Cetus while crossing the Waking Sea, which had delayed them for almost half a day. Even now, if he strained his hearing, the sound of sawing woods and nails being hammered told Martin that repairs were still underway, although at this point they were mostly only decorative details that needed replacing. Or at least what he thought of as decorative features, while the sailors maintained they were vital to the operation of the ship.

Around the fire the rest of the gathered Company sat warming themselves, several of them finishing off the dinner which had been provided from the Siren's provisions. Taking his time Martin let them eat, uncertain when they may get another chance to eat so well. Reaching into the pouch hanging from his waist Martin quickly packed his pipe before lighting it with one of the dwarven matches fashioned for him by their resident crafter Henrietta. Drawing the smoke into his lungs Martin let himself enjoy the flavour for a few minutes before finally rousing his party.

"The time has come to make a decision," he pronounced, "The lands south are done with us it seems, for now at least, and it's time we forged a new path." Producing a map provided by their pirate queen hostess, whose price Martin had found to be very favourable, if a little energetic for his aging bones, the old war horse lay it down on the sand, bracing the corners with rocks as he pulled his dagger from his belt.

"To the north lies Nevarra," he explained as he pointed out the capital city with the tip of his blade, knowing some of those in the Company had barely traversed Orlais, let alone the rest of Thedas, "A land of knights, honour and worshippers of the dead. Beyond that is the Tevinter Imperium, filled with power mad mages, blood magic and all manner of evils, or at least that's what the Chantry would have us believe. Personally I have a fondness for their blended liquors, so they can't be all bad."

Moving his dagger over Martin pointed to the Free Marches, waving the point over the whole region before descending on Kirkwall. "To the east of us lie the squabbling kingdoms and 'free cities' of the Marches, which are at the moment as much at war with each other as they are anyone else. And as the old mercenary tale tells us, where there's war, there's profit to be had.

"Further out is Antiva, a rich and prosperous land, filled with intrigues and assassins, with plenty of easy work to be had protecting bankers and their money from killing each each other. The work there may be in the lap of luxury, but the Crows will make sure you pay for every grape with blood and sweat."

Swinging the dagger the other way, Martin waved it vaguely over a portion of the map, before moving it north. "To the west we have Orlais, with their masks, hidden smiles and 'Games'. All high class intrigues and pointlessly complicated rules for etiquette." Turning his head Martin spat out a glob of phlegm, which hiss and popped as it burnt away in the fire. "Give me a straight fight over that any time.

"Heading north from there are the Anderfels, filled with ancient thaigs brimming with ancient treasures, ancient darkspawn and Grey Wardens. They claim that the King of the Anders rules there, but everyone knows the Wardens are the true power."

Sitting back, placing his pipe between his teeth once more Martin gazed around at the Company, watching each of them carefully as they weighed up their options. "Well? Which way should we go? Where do you think we'll find the best work?"
@WildCobra I can see Chi's attribute being 'Excitement', since its abilities after how quickly you become engaged with activities and make your character more, well, excitable. :)

Lifting her arms Saf activated her shielding and her blades, giving Sgt. Garron the full light show. "Protective shields and what I think are variable-yield emitters in the gauntlets. I'm still getting a hang on those." As she explained the Warrant Officer tried imagining different sized blades and to her delight the long sharp beams shortened and widened, changing from what she thought of as lances to machetes and finally to shovels.

When she tried to pull them back further a gauge suddenly appeared on her HUD and the gauntlets whined for a moment before sending a wave of force up into the ceiling, leaving a noticeable dent in the armoured plating there. "Okay, and they can be overcharged to act as some sort of recharging ranged attack." She said, watching as the gauge slowly began to shrink.

Saf tried to activate her blades again but the emitters just glowed weakly for a moment before cutting out. "Gotta be careful with that though, seems it breaks the blade emitters at least for a short while, there's a gauge here that seems to be indicating the recovery time." Saf tapped at her faceplate to indicate to Sgt. Garron what she was talking about, as she knew the HUD was probably an internal projection not visible to others. "There's also some sort of rainbow strength gauge over here," She continued, moving her hand to the other side of her helmet, "Which I think is something to do with the shielding. It flickered slightly while under constant attack by six training turrets, but I've no idea how much of an indication of actual shield strength."

@Light

Turning to look over Sgt. Garron's shoulder Saf called down the room to the Sabre standing at the locker beside hers. "Hey, Dr. Sigmund? You said earlier you were involved with the creation of these... systems," She said, waving her hand down the front of the top-of-the-line, form-fitting, technological marvel of a cybersuit, "I was just wondering what the maximum protective power the shielding on my suit could withstand? In terms a soldier could understand, if you can."
Som volunteers to be freed so the Sith can have him tell the galaxy how evil they are!
I should be getting my computer back later today, but I'm due to be out tonight so may not get to open the IC until tomorrow morning, but will be getting it up by then at the latest.
