Hey there, I'm Sir Hawke an rper of around 6 years. I'd like to think that I'm at least competant, though easily not the best around. I occasionally turn up here to do sci-fi or fantasy rp. I'm also a uni student, so I will be fair and warn you now, my replies are quite slow, but once I get comfortable in an rp, I'll do my utmost best to stick to it.
I've recently created a new batch of OCs, both sci-fi and fantasy and as I've recently taken almost half a year off rping I'll be hoping to get some stuff in with them and flesh them out better.

Security or pending that, a good medic will deffinately be needed on this mission.
(Not saying you'll be meeting some hostile aquatic species, but you will totally be facing some hostile aquatic species)

Yeah, I'm drawing a lot of inspiration from Subnautica, I adore that game and it was after that I wanted to do an sea sci-fi rp. So what sorta character ideas were you all thinking of using?

On the far rim of the galaxy, lies an Ocean planet Scylla, inhabited only by a small research team sent there to investigate a signal given off from under the waves. A few years pass and occasional communications are sent back, mainly catalouges of new aquatic flora and fauna. Even the occasional sighting of what looks like a primative life form living on the planet.
Then without warning the distress beacon was activated, sending out a signal to the stars. Whatever was going on there, something had gone wrong, they needed help quickly.
Unfortunately somewhere that far out was seen as of little importance and so no official response team was sent out by any large corporate or government entities. It seemed for a little while that no one was going to respond to the distress call, after all who would want to help out a few low-paid researchers in some far off reach of space? Especially if the job put them in mortal danger?
Yet there was one hope - one last chance for salvation. A former friend and scientist of one of the crew that had initially gone to the station managed to pick up on the signal and tap into its message. Unwilling to let her old friends just die without being given any chance, she decided to use whatever funds she could to try and hire a small crew and do the best she could.

So, a bit of OOC stuff here, I've always wanted to do an underwater Sci-fi esque action/adventure rp. Now while it will mostly be centered on the small crew and them reacting to the different situations that they get themselves into, with the whole underwater theme, the rp could lean somewhats towards horror in the deeper depths, although that will be kept to a minimum.
That said, I'm really glad you showed interest and I look forward to seeing your characters.
Rules:
Really I'm as a GM I'm not overly rule heavy GM, the only real ones I wanna stress are when creating a character, if they're from a unique sci-fi race, please nothing utterly brokenly strong. This rp needs to challenges to overcome down the line. The other being the same as so many others - just treat your fellow rpers with respect.
@Durnehviir That works perfectly fine! In terms of a character, probably someone who has at least some positive outlook on the world around them. Especially if it's something that could get them targetted by others.

Camir nodded, almost too eagerly for someone of his profession, but at least his face remained impassive enough to not betray the extent of his excitement. Which had he been thinking about it, showed just how far his training had been taking him. As it was, his entie mental energy was focusing on the task at hand, already going over the different places he knew about, trying to figure out where best he could locate someone.
Of course, the highways would always have people in need of protection, as would the mountain passes, but the likelyhood that anyone there would be worthy - well that was a different question in its entireity.
At the very least, hitting the local pub to celebrate didn't seem like a bad plan. It'd been a long grueling time practicing combat in preperation for this, but now - finally he was ready to get out there - or wherever there turned out to be.
Hey, I'm new here (though an experianced rper of 6 years) and was wondering if anyone would like to do a quick(ish) rp with me to help flesh out one of my new fantasy ocs - I've just built him and need to do a quick test run wtih him to see if he works well as a proper character or if I need to change one or two things around with him.
If it goes well - I'd be entirely up for turning this into a long term rp if you are and if not, incorporating this into his backstory for other rps.
In short he's a half-orc warrior monk in training and this is one of the "main tasks" his temple puts trainees through in order to become recognised as a fully fledged monk. This task would see him meeting up with your character - possibly in the tavern and deciding to protect them against any threats they face. Whatever that being could be discussed if you have any specific ideas for it, although I do have a few which we could talk about if anyones interested.
