"Oooh, no no no no!" Sora said insistently. As Taiki continued to eat, Sora slid a file on the bowl just as the First Class' chopsticks went above it. "You're not weasling your way out of this! You might want to push this back, but we'll have to do it eventually, and I don't intend to do it alone. I won't give you a moment's peace until you check and pick one case!"

He let go of the file, leaving it as if it were a lid for the bowl. He stared intently at Taiki, his head leaned forward on the table.

Wye turned to the young man who arrived at the reception right after him. He offered the stranger a wide grin as he took back his ID. Once they were in the room, he heard the young man introduce himself. "Yup! Nice to meet you Sully," he said gleefully. He looked around the room quickly, before sinking into a couch with a sigh of relief. He looked up at Sully with "This is an amazing place, huh? A place this big, for studying and preserving pokémon... Oh, I'm just shivering with excitement! All the work that's done here... It'd be nice to work here at some point. I wonder--" He stopped suddenly, freezing in place. He turned to Sully with a sheepish grin. "Hehe... Sorry, I'm just rambling," he said apologetically.

"Hey!"

As the doors opened to the room, another soon-to-be trainer arrived. "Oh, only one more left! Then we get our partnerssss~!" Wye mused as he jumped up to his feet. He turned to the newcomer and smiled. "Hay is for Mudbrays!" he said jokingly before immediately regretting it. "Ah, sorry... It sounded funnier in my head. Anyway! I'm Wye. Nice to meet you!"

After the day long ferry ride, the travelers seemed to be more than happy to set foot on solid ground. Family members embraced each other for the first time in months and friends ran around ecstatically at the joy of seeing each other again. After a minute or so, all of the passengers had left the port, save one. A young man with messy hair and tired eyes stood on top of the plank bridging the ferry and the pier, looking around in confusion. He remained still until he heard the noise of the ferry's horn, snapping him out of his trance. He jumped in place and quickly strutted past the gate.

As morning approached noon, Wye arrived to the gate of the Oak Institute. He made his way through to the receptionist. "Um... Hi," he said with a childish grin, curling his ID card in between his fingers impatiently. "I'm here for the starter programme!" He presented his ID with a quick movement. "Wye Gérard!"

Wye has always had a jolly side to him, even if it isn't ever-present. He can be quite outgoing and friendly to anyone if prompted to. He has a light hint of snobbery about him, but it rarely shows, if ever at all. He's easily excitable about subjects he's interested in. This quality of his outshines every other feeling and thought he might have when it is triggered.

Background
Wye grew up in Mosdeep City in the Hoenn Region, now a flourishing city and a center for academic learning and research. His mother worked at the Mosdeep Space Center as a pokemon researcher, specializing on pokemon evolution and development, and his father was an investigative journalist. Although their parents worked quite a bit during the day, going abroad often, even, Wye and his sister Mari didn't want for anything. Their parents were loving and attentive in what little time they could be with their family. Wye went to a technical school in Mosdeep, while his sister went to Sootopolis. In Mosdeep, he fostered a healthy appreciation for the work his mother did, a path he decided he would follow one day.

Once out of school, he began his studies in Mauville University's College of Pine. After his first two years, as all students in their third year, he had to leave to study in another region and keep a log for his thesis research. He chose to go to Kanto after his mother suggested it would be a good experience.
