Alana nodded in agreement with Tyler. She expected that the school would make assignments progressively more difficult over the course of the next few weeks and although she preferred to work alone, she couldn't deny that it would be a bad idea to turn down the offer, especially considering the fact that Erik was the academic scholar and the school, after all, had to be prestigious for good reason.

"Sure, why not. I'm sure if we work together we can get the homework done faster and probably better too." She rifled through her bag for a moment, then stopped to look around at the group, her gaze landing on Tyler. At least for his sake, maybe they should leave the threat of grass stains behind. "Would you all rather stay here or go to one of the common rooms? I don't mind either way, but it can't hurt to ask, right?"

Alana grinned back, relaxing as her earlier wariness finally drained away. It was most definitely a nice surprise to have found a potential friend who was a scholarship student too. Judging by his goals for university, she could guess that he had the academic scholarship. Along with the fact that he had already given the notes on the first day, it wasn't a stretch to say that he could also help her later, something that wouldn't hurt to appreciate.

"Yeah, aside from that announcement it's been pretty run of the mill. Your guess is as good as mine though. They're probably just planning out the year but considering it's my first day, I could be completely wrong." She shrugged. "Do you think something else is going on?"

She smiled at Tyler, although it was a bit strained as she took in his clothes compared to hers, which were definitely not as expensive. She had also made sure they were flexible enough to dance in if she didn’t feel like changing when the urge struck and the casuality of it compared to a suit jacket made her feel something like painfully conscious. Although she did put in some effort to be sure she was up to the irritatingly stuffy dress code, the clothes weren’t the nicest. She hadn’t paid much mind to it before, but at that moment it took a not insignificant effort to keep from picking at the hem of her shirt even though everyone else for the most part matched her level of dress.

She turned back to Eric and cocked her head thoughtfully. It felt odd to come to the school and see students she had deemed as spoiled off the bat in passing only to have the first she had really talked to seem friendly. She couldn’t help but wonder whether he and Quinn were the rules, the exception, or only playing nice for good impressions. Any way it went, she decided to take what she got for now and hope for the best.

”Sure, I just have more to take in than I was ready for. I’m not used to places like this and I definitely wouldn’t be here without my scholarship. I hope it’ll all be worth it, at least. She huffed a small laugh. ”And what about you? Has today been up to your standards?”

Alana opened her bag and took out her phone, checking the notification and heaving a sigh of relief before turning back to Erik with a small smile. She wasn’t that bad at English but she found it boring and all the reading gave her a headache. She didn’t expect someone who was basically a stranger to help lighten the load, though. Maybe her classmates wouldn’t be as insufferable as she thought and she could make some friends.

”Thanks. It’s nice to meet you both, I’m Alana and this,” she patted her dog’s head affectionately,“Is Barley, go ahead and pet him if you like. As long as he’s not busy, he’s really friendly.” He lifted his head at the mention of his name, tail wagging slightly.
@ShivaThis seems really interesting! Are you taking CSs now or are you making a RP later?

Alana stretched and stashed her finished science work back in her her bag. Looking around, she followed the gazes of the other students on the lawn and saw some of them streaming inside. It might be good to do something for the school, and even though she didn't have much experience maybe she could try for it sometime. But then again, doing that meant actually getting to know people. Which she still hadn't really done yet now that she thought about it, even though her parents would want her to. She managed a smile and a wave in the direction of a boy she had just seen move on the the lawn and a girl going through the English homework she was trying not to think about and scratched Barley's ears absently.
@Dead Cruiser It's no problem, I'll get on that.
Sorry for the mixup. Here's my CS
[hider=Hetti Sin-Hashuri
Name: Hetti Sin-Hashuri

Age: 16
Appearance: Being descended from the Rishet, a nomadic tribe that spent much of their time in the sun to the south of modern Photep, she has warm, chestnut skin a few shades darker than the norm, brown eyes, thick curly black hair that she keeps no longer than at her shoulders. She is notably taller than girls her age, which combined with the fine silk robes she is fond of tends to make for an intimidating sight despite her young age. As a result of her religion, she has a tattoo of the phases of the moon on one hand and eight sun positions on the other that each child of her tribe receives once they reach adolescence.

Background: Hetti's parents have always pushed her to be among the best and she has never failed to rise to the challenge.

Her mother,Bashdari, is a skilled sorcerer from the Cult of the Crow who specializes in one of the few sanctioned facets of Necromancy, Mediumship. Bashdari is the least favorite of her parents for pursuing a less practical career unlike her siblings who continued the family trade as weavers. As such the Sin-Hashuris, despite claiming her mother's name, are estranged from most of their maternal extended family.

Her father, Ansaz, hails from the highly spiritual nomadic Rishet tribe and immigrated to Photep to study. He is a former political scholar from the Fellowship of Social Philosophy who became an Eagle aligned councilmember soon after her birth. His tribe was, although disappointed that he did not choose a wife from his own tribe, elated that he chose a Sorcerer to marry as they are seen as somewhat holy for their connection to the Aether. As such, they maintain a good relationship with them and Hetti is very much proud of her heritage. She takes great pride in her heritage as half Risheti on her father's side, although she is for the most part not religious.

Both of her parents are well liked members of the community and somewhat above average in wealth. This provided the ideal learning environment for a curious, budding Sorcerer and her parents pushed her to be among the best of the best from a young age. She certainly rose to the task, but as a result of spending so much of her time studying is a bit detached from reality and others. Through her parent's connections and her own remarkable intelligence, she was admitted into the Pesedjet. She has quite a bit of support from her extended family but especially her Risheti side, which values Sorcerers as a connection to the holy Aether. She is the only child because her mother had many issues in pregnancy and while seen as a miracle for her parents, has very high expectations put upon her.

Personality: While she is genuinely a kind person, Hetti tends to seem aloof but really just isn't the best at personal relationships; when drawn into conversation, she is either short and cryptic or overly verbose and philosophical to the point of being incomprehensible. She has a very inquisitive mind and tends to be more perceptive than she lets on. She loves knowledge for the sake of it and is usually the first to both ask and answer questions. Despite her seeming cool-headedness, she has a very intense sense of morals and will not hesitate to speak up for them, whether that be holding a mean-spirited classmate accountable or criticizing Photep itself. As a result of her parents' pressures, her own aptitude, and her ambitions, she is not well equipped to deal with anything she deems a failure. To calm herself, she sings and weaves cloth, an activity she used to do with her mother since she was small.

Aptitude: Hetti is takes after and even surpasses her mother in magical skill. She is all around a prodigal student, but does best with Telepathy, specifically illusions, and like her mother, Divination, although her specialty seems to lie communicating with the stars to predict and alter the future. A minor discipline she has taken to is Chloromancy, although she has only begun recently and natural talent has only taken her so far. Even at Pesedjet, she is one of the top students and works hard to keep it that way. Her personality does not lend itself to Pyromancy, in which he is just barely above average but she isn't very interested in it anyway.

Tutelary: Utterly unlike her in all but perhaps shape, Otoni is a sand cat with the horns of a jackal-most of the time. Their form changes at whim although not in size and is made up of what seems to be the vibrant red of the sands beneath the desert. They are much more social than Hetti herself and almost aggressively enthusiastic about the world. They have an unusual younger sibling sort of dynamic with Hetti thanks to Otoni's almost naive attitude which has given them a strong bond with her.
