@Sophrus I love maths. Not actually, I feel lile I am not cut oit for it, but on occasions I go to big lenghts with it. However, the relation of ONE FRUCKING BILLION and a leisurely 31100 is, well, humongous. Its a mid range stadium, to one seventh of earths population.

If you want to go with rule of cool, then I can quickly upscale some things on my side (me biggest and meanest ship intended to be 870 meters).

Oh, ok. well i could down scale a bit to like (making up numbers without doing math)... 2km by 0.8ish km and still be viable with no change in actual stats. While it would still dwarf your biggest ships, if caught without drones or support it would have 0 chance against your capitals because it was absolutely not designed to slug it out with a capital ship. Thats what the battle ships are for (which would be like 300-400 meters)

@Sophrus Yeah, thats huge. Like, massive for a carrier of your proportions. Counting with 10k mid size cars (according to your CS), these drones would take up about 31100 cubic meters, or 3.11 times 10 on the minus fifth cubic kilometers. However, if we count 5*1.5 times a rough estimate of a 100 meters we will get that this whole ship's interior is 0.75 cubic kilometers. The drones take up, an inaccountable fraction of this.

Star Wars is cool and all, but I feel like if you looked at a ship in the ocean that was 5 kilomneters long, you'd get a heart attack.

ok, i didnt actually do any math on that but alot of that volume would be taken up by engineering, engines, crew quarters, the bridge, massive computer banks (controlling the drones). and the fact its not a solid cube.

ok, last question, mostly prompted by Wernher's missile ships

How large will you allow my super-carrier capital ship to be?

because it is supposed to be a center piece on the battlefield launching a couple thousand drones, it would a huge (5km long and about 1.5km wide) but mostly empty box transporting a horde of drones and have little combat ability after that other than some point defense guns and a few rails around its hull.

also i haven't entirely avoided genocide. the vast majority of the gargans killed were on other planets where they were entirely purged from. As for the homeworld the majority of deaths where caused by collateral damage of the ground fighting and orbital weapons rather than genocide.

The gargan actively resisted genocide, surviving total terraforming of their planet etc.

Wow, thats alot.. and interesting. and totally fine lol, i do have a few clever tricks up my sleeve to make my life much easier (by comparison). however if things happen how i hope, it should be possible to reduce human resistance significantly.

@Sophrus Jolly plan. I was thinking on kicking your butt the first few times cause all your tricks are already known, but I'm happy you thought about that. Suicide drones ftw.

Well, the tactics will have changed somewhat, fleet doctrine and combat will still be largely similar although new weapons will be on the pipeline rather quickly. However when they do lash out at the empire it will be a different ball game than the defensive war the empire faced before. i wont say what the plan is, but i think you will be rather surprised by my plan.

on a side note, given the strained relationship with the empire what kind of fleet/army would be in permanent assignment at the planet? i am expecting a rather large force given pirate activity and general animosity, although the pirates rarely field anything larger than a small cruiser.

So im thinking the Neutronium suicide drones are going to be a new technology developed after the Gargan where conquered, and the neutronium weapons have not been used against the empire, yet, and will be a jolly surprise for the first major engagement.
