【Personality:】 Contrary to the first impressions her habits and attitude often create, Shizu herself is a diligent shingami that takes an honorable pride in her skills as a warrior. Unfortunately though, her sleeping schedule rarely gives her time to show herself as the hardworking lieutenant that she is, leaving only her close friends and workers of the night watch to know of the effort she puts in. For though she does do some of her work by day she also does some of it by night as well, training diligently and working hard both by sun and by moon.
That said, her relaxed demeanor and intermittent sleeping around the Seiretei 24/7 often create first impressions that belie her skill and honor in combat. But to Shizu, honor and skill are something you present as the results of training, not something you brag about. And this way of thinking shows in how earnestly she fights against her opponents, unapologetically bringing her best regardless of rank and supportively pointing out any strengths and weaknesses after it's over. Though her words may be a bit frank at times, she's holds no fear in saying something that she thinks someone should hear, even if it may be a bit abrupt or ill timed.
Unfortunately though, she can be a bit hard on herself when she's unable to hold herself to the expectations and standards she aims for, often pushing herself a little bit more then she should the next time around. It's in this regard that Shizu's diligence can come back to bite her, as she sometimes reaches a state that causes concern for those that care about her. When she's like this, she starts to push herself further then needed and forgoes her usual sleeping patterns in an effort to get more done, all while trying to keep up appearances. If left unchecked, she'll eventually drive herself to the point of sickness or collapse.

【HakudaPractitioner】
To say that Shizu is a practitioner in Hakuda is to be a bit off base. She can hold a stance and throw a punch without problem, but she's just too stiff and awkward about it to find any use for it in battle. Maybe with time and experience she will improve.
【HohōMaster】
Though Shizu's skill in Hohō can't compare to that of a captain's, it's definitely is in a class of it's own among the lieutenants when it comes to stamina. Because unlike most when it comes to practicing Hohō, she does her best to incorporate it into her daily life, using any moment of movement as a chance to refine her techniques. It's from this diligent practice that she has gained a master's level of skill and stamina, allowing her to freely use it in battle like a natural change of pace. Though she may not count as the fastest, there are few who can outlast her.

Seeing him move up and down for a moment before speaking left Nira with a sense that he might have ment something in doing so, but as before she couldn't tell what. Maybe in time she'd learn to figure it out, if they stuck together that is. But for now she pushed it to the back of her mind and followed him.
As he paused outside for a moment, she looked around and had to admit that it was a nice little location, both for the number of blue flowers growing from the vines and the numerous little holes to hide in for safety. It wasn't anything she would personally stick to when the branches seemed far safer to her, but it made for a good temporary shelter.
Once he wandered in, she took a seat at the entrance of the hole and positioned herself so that she could keep an eye on anything that wanted to approach the tree. She didn't want to to get trapped in a confined space with someone she just met, but she trusted him enough to at least not worry about an attack from behind.
With that said and done she focused on listening to what he had to say, and it turned out to be worth it. It made sense to her that there would be a way to increase one's mana capacity, but to do so by a good 50 percent this early on was definitely a nice advantage. Thinking it over, she definitely wanted to be able to cast more uses of the shield and minor heal spells as well as maybe learning some offensive magic. Learning to restore her mana would be a step in the right direction if she did so... but maybe she could learn to sense mana at the same time.
"I don't plan on risking myself in any suicide attacks in this life either, so we're on the same page there. And that's impressive. If it works like how you say, I'll definitely give it a shot."
Taking a moment to listen to his thorough explanation, she realized that it was a simple process that might take her a few tries to get down. Thinking about nothing wasn't exactly the easiest thing in the world for her, especially when she had a whole life's worth of experience on how to fill her time. But if this really was a first step to increasing her odds of survival, then she was definitely going to give it her best shot.
"I don't. If you need me I'll be outside."
Taking a quick look at the surrounding area to check for any observers, she flittered up and out of sight into one of the tree branches and started trying to clear her mind. She wouldn't have to worry too much about a surprise attack because anything that tried to approach her along the branch would cause it to sag under its weight, the movement of which would give her a heads up.
After a few stray thoughts and some minor figiting she started to feel like she had entered the right state of mind and tried to find that sense of flow and energy that Haeo had described.
I'll take a water too. Waitress - Alright, that's two glasses of water. I'll be back shortly. *The waitress walks away and I pick up the menu to start looking through it.* Any idea on what you'll be having, or are we going to get an appetizer first?
