Record End: *Looks at you with a raised eyebrow.* So, I take it you're the end process of their attempt?
Record: *Almost instantly after arriving in non-dimensional space, I drag myself and the recovered parts of Kat's body back into the nearest existence entangled dimension and take a breath.*
Shinji: * takes the items, placing them in my jacket. I then go back into the room we were in, before*
*as soon as you fly in, the portal closes behind you. Itcseems as if the area itself attempts to close in on you, deteriorating anthign it may ocme into contact with. The faster you work, the quicker the infection spreads, as if doubling in speed with each cut you make*
<Snipped quote by souleaterfan320>
*Remains completely inactive and unresponsive*
Record: *Upon realizing that Kat is an android and the situation, I sigh and raise both of my arm above my head as another pair of arms erupt from my back. Within seconds, the new pair turn into branches of flesh and bone that quickly grow to cover the interior of the cube before the external structure destabilizes. At the same time, my raised arms turn into sharp scythe-like blades that I soon bring down upon Kat's body to sever the infected portion from the rest in one clean blow. After picking it up and walking backwards another me emerges from the wall, picks up the uncontaminated sections, and drags them and itself into non-dimensional space after quickly cutting it's connection with the flesh enclosure. The me that's left behind smirks with a tired and pained look in its eyes.*
shinji:..... its too risky.... we should just go get help. someone who is more suited for this. risking two lives for the sake of one isn't an acceptable trade, not while we could still make it back in time to still rescue her and the others. I just don't want to leave her like that... damnit.....
Record: That's a fair assessment. ...Right now though, making a prompt choice will likely lead to better results, simply because of time not wasted. Opportunities may be missed regardless, but more is lost over indecision than what isn't.
<Snipped quote by Heroic>
*the force repels off my body back at you, as if it were redirected by an unknown force* King: that's not gonna work.
*lashes out at you with a vicious kick, sending you into the amaranthine barrier, that begins attempting to corrupt you*
*turns to Mierno, but notices Kat's body*
hmm..
*underneath her, a portal of amaranthine engulfs her, and in the new amranthine world she finds herself in, a crystal floats by her. almost as if detecting her body, it flings itself into her, beginning the process of corruption*
shinji: NO! DAMNIT! *watching the battle from the base, I slam my fist into the wall, cracking a wooden beam*
.... fuck...
Record: *Sees it happen and immediately acts, manifesting a unstable knife and cutting off two warm, dimly glowing things from beneath my hair.* Take these and hide. *Quickly tossing them to Shinji, I make a mad dash towards the portal as my form vanishes from sight. Within a second my form reappears as I drop in and quickly take stock of the situation. I manifest an unstable platform to land on and walls form the shape of a cube soon after I'm down. Sparing no hesitation in my eyes or my actions, I quickly attempt to slice out any infected parts of her body with some extra margen to anticipate the continuing encroachment of the amaranthine and throw them aside.* @Valiance
Record: Well now that Flicker is fully asleep, any objects I manifest are far less stable. So if they try to absorb or bind with incoming energy types, they'll likely self collapse along with the energy. We could use that property as a kind of defense, but this has never been tested, so the results could range from me running out of manifestable material to having literal unpredictable explosion types chasing us there and back. And given what you told me about this stuff, it could also end up worse.
Watching the water coalesce from the air before becoming part of the orb forming between her palms was just about as amazing as Nira had imagined, and it was even more fascinating to observe the details of the process now that she had her eyes open. Apparently the pixies felt much the same from their enthusiastic and curious reactions. Though she couldn't lose too much focus lest the spell return to normal speed, she still watched as two of the pixies tried touching the droplets while the third circled in and out of view.
The entire experience leading up to this moment had been a bit hectic, but Nira had to admit it really was unlike any other she had experienced before. About to get lost in the thought of what conjuring other elements must look like, light from the setting sun glanced off the orb and brought her back to awareness. She'd gotten so caught up in the situation that she hadn't realized how late it was getting.
Not wanting to have wasted water or mana, Nira was about to take a drink from the water orb when a bird call more noticeable then the rest startled the other pixies, which in turn made Nira jump a little midair and drop it. Watching the reactions of the pixies and how they pointed to trees on the other far side of the clearing, Nira could only make a mental note that the area must be of some danger at night. Turning her head back a moment late, Nira could only watch as her aquaintences darted off in the opposite direction.
*Yup, definitely something going on with that.*
With such a good indicator of potential danger, Nira almost started moving before Femus could speak up about new information and his request. Right, that. Reorienting her mind yet again for probably a fifth time that day, Nira merely nodded in response as a slight bit of mental exhaustion kicked in.
Reviewing her day as she looked over the hobgoblin corpse, she could only be thankful things had worked out as well as they had. From getting to the tree, to feeling flustered over a lack of clothes, to finishing mana orb and killing a slime, to qualifying for evolution and eating, to getting a leaf dress and making a new spell, to helping kill a hobgoblin and plan for a hunt, to somehow managing the pixies despite her lack of a proper plan, it had been quite a day. So to just have a moment to chill as she looked over a corpse for some easily removable small bones, morbid as it may be, was a minor blessing.
Having finished her observation of the hobgoblin's corpse while ruminating, Nira decided it would likely be a choice between hand bones and feet bones, simply because the hobgoblin's teeth would still be too well anchored from it's fresh death. Remembering some offhand remarks about finger injuries from her past life, she decided those would likely be the easiest to remove. Making her way over to one of the limp hands, Nira momentarily thought about looking for a rock before remembering the damage mana orb had done at range. Surely using it point blank would be effective for damaging the connected joints, let alone removing a finger or two.
Deciding on the index and middle fingers, Nira placed her hand above the two related knuckle joints before using mana orb with the intent of slicing through skin and muscle. Regardless of effectiveness, she then got to work at ripping skin and flesh off the bones until she had three of them detached. Once obtained, she decided to briefly cast aqua orb above her prizes to dry them out and minimize the smell. Moving the orb away, she used it to rinse her hands and arms off as best she could before picking up the bones she had collected and taking them up to the resting spot in the lower branches. Hopefully she hadn't spent too before she and Femus could talk about further plans.

Record: Fair point. I'd say I could go intangible and grab her if everything was normal, but it's not, so I won't risk that. Maybe... *Looking thoughtful, I shift my gaze down to my hand as I raise it up. A second later a small floating cube manifests, but it seems to be less opaque then it normally is.* ...it's an unsure likelihood though.
<Snipped quote by Stabby> Shinji: Its not the ground that I'm worried about. It's the sphere around us and the amaranthine that that man there controls.
*points to King*
I don't think the ground has any amaranthine currently.
Record: Oh. In that case, let's get her inside then.
Shinji: I've had limited experience with it.. but its no good from what i remember. It doesnt act like any form of energy I've ever seen.
Record: Then I guess we just have to avoid touching the ground with this rescue. *My eyes shift to a yellow color as I manifest a flat, floating platform large enough to comfortably sit or stand on right outside the door..* This should do, correct?
