Former Enlisted Army, and very avid gamer. I have fallen hook line and sinker for Dungeons and Dragons, which has actually taken over as my preferred method to roleplay--as both a DM and a player.
However, my roleplay adventures started with writing, and I always will be interested in creative writing. I left for a brief 5 year stint (Hey, that's brief to an elf or dragon, yeah?) but am back and ready to dive into something (though what, I am unsure).
Happily married to my wonderful wife @PrimalArcana, whom I met at this forum (thanks @Mahz) and I can't be happier :D Love to RP pretty much anything. However, my time is much more limited than it used to be. My PMs are open if you want to roleplay, I'm known to do both 1 on 1 RPs and open forum RPs.
I may not be active anymore, but this still applies: All Green, all Army, HOOAH!

The unthinkable happened. A virus. At first, it seemed of little threat. Coughing, sneezing, nausea. It started off like the the flu. Of course, a vaccine came quickly. Then came the other symptoms. Slowly people began to get more paranoid. Then violent. Soon, reason was lost. People were slowly driven insane, attacking one another with little to no provocation. Simple arguments ending in bloodshed and death.
First it was just a few towns. Then cities. Then states. Then entire countries, until the very world itself was afflicted by this mysterious virus that slowly drove people insane. It wasn't long before the governments fell from within. And then--the world. Now all that is left are small pockets of survivors. The disease itself spread very quickly. Fortunately for Humanities sake, the disease also killed relatively quickly too. It would eventually burn itself out, killing faster than it could spread.
But the damage has been done. There are very few people left who can remember the times before. 17 years have passed. What is left of humanity is surviving by a thread. Bandits, the plague itself, the sanity of the survivors trying to stay alive in a hostile world. Life is not easy.
How will you survive in this post-apocalyptic mess of disease, despair, and human greed? Will humanity come back from this, or will we fall extinct? Only time will tell.
Alright, so that's the story, here are the ground rules:
Posting: I only require 3 to 4 posts a week. If you WANT to post more, by all means--please do. But I personally will likely not be able to do much more than that, so I don't expect more of anyone else
Casual posting: I REQUIRE causal level posting. NO one liners. I'd like to see at very least, a paragraph. THAT SAID: If you want to write more, I encourage you to do so. Personally, I'll be writing a lot, but I don't want to tie anyone down with an "advanced" level. As long as you write at least a paragraph, it's fine. If you write more, I will be very thrilled and it will encourage ME to write more too :D
Story: I have some things planned for the story. I don't have YOUR character death's in mind, but if you WANT your char to die, PM me. We can make a suitable death. There will be some "staged" moments where events happen that are supposed to lead us to a certain path. If that happens, it will be obvious. Please just let that happen. Trust me, you will KNOW, I promise.
Fun: Have fun, give suggestions, and enjoy the RP! I want this to be fun for everyone! Also, if you want to contact me for whatever reason, do so! I want everyone to enjoy this RP. It is inspired by The Walking Dead and I intend it to be very story driven with a lot of action too, that makes sense for the plot!
NOW FOR THE GOOD STUFF! The Character sheet! This is the MINIMUM required, if you want to add more detail I not only will be happy to see it, I encourage it! Go to town with it, I don't mind!

My bitching complaint today is people who post character sheets an OOC, get accepted, and then disappear from the RP. Not RPG. The RP.

Ehhh, that's what I was thinking, but honestly, it would really be up to you. IS your character immune? My thoughts were most of what is left of humanity would *probably* be immune. That, or really, REALLY lucky. The disease would have overall burned itself out by the time things really pick up, with some limited threat for infection. In reality, diseases that kill people off too quickly (Ebola, for instance), could never really destroy ALL of humanity. So it's not unreasonable to think the plague fell JUST shy of making us extinct, burning out for the most part, by the time we play, a small handful of years after the fact.
