Everything is overgrown. The desert will be like one huge oasis
Quiey in here. My lady is leaving tonight (4 a.m) so im spending our last hours (cleaning) together.

I want you all to discuss where you want refuge. Limited to the U.S.
Each area will be unique and i will provide a dossier on it. Creatures, terrain, prominent factions, ect.

East coast will likely have lots of flooding. Mountains will remain that way. Deserts will be like a huge swampy oasis. West coast will have less flooding than east. Great plains area will be thick jungle type.

Ideas?

You are quite welcome.

Name: Eli "The Ghost" Konlie
Age: 28
Nationality: American (North)
Ethnicity: Italian , Portuguese , Irish, German.
Sex: Male

Appearance: Eli Stands at 6 feet even, and he has an average, but toned build. He is quite athletic, and he looks it. When not in his armor, he usually keeps his fatigues on the lower half of his body (pants), and his black combat boots. His shirt isn't anything special, a regular black tank top that does a poor job of hiding a set of dog tags he wears. Though the brown duster he likes to wear does. Some would say he speaks with a charming voice, but the truth is it's more a strategic assortment of words. He has a sharp mind, and it shows.

Job: Survivalist

Eye color: Green
Height: 6'0 ft
Unique Physical identifiers: Three large, parallel slashes across his back from his upper left shoulder to his right hip.
Parents: Dead.

Biography:
Eli led a pretty average life as a kid. From little league to high school baseball, soccer, football; if it was a sport he's probably played it at some point. His parents were always sucked into their technology; phones, computers; or working, barely leaving enough time for them to realize they had a son. He hated that fact, and the technology that kept them away from him, so sports were his outlet. He did pretty well in his school work, maintaining an A average to further his desire of a scholarship so he could join college sports. He loved the competition of it all. He wasn't the particularly best player on his teams, but he definitely practiced the most and tried the hardest.

When the outbreak happened, nobody saw it coming. It came in a tidal wave of sorrow and torment. Creatures he had never seen before started attacking people. Then people started attacking people, and it only got worse as time went on. But as it was happening, Eli was driving a soccer ball down the middle of field at the college stadium, having made the team two years before when he was, and weaving around the opposing players with ease. It wasn't until the ball sunk in the net that he noticed the triumphant roars of the crowd were actually that of fear. One side of the stands was a bloody jumble of bodies. Panic took him and the rest of the people on the field and everybody fled in different directions.

Even though he hated the things that has taken his parent's soul, he did have a phone. It was two hours until his father came and picked him up, Eli spent the time hiding in a locker in the boys locker room, before running as fast as he could to the parking lot to meet his father. When they got home, Eli and his father rushed into the house. It was kind of ironic that the man who had ignored him for half his life, would save it. Eli's mother flung herself from the front porch... and sank her teeth into his father's cheek, tearing flesh and muscle away. Eli ran, his father's gurgled screams playing over in his mind.

It was likely that Eli wouldn't survive, except for one man. Jonathan Green. He ran a hunting store on the edge of town, and had always made it to Eli's games. He was pretty much the father he had always wanted. When everything happened, Eli found himself hiding in the hunting store, which had already been ransacked. It was by chance that Jonathan had forgotten something and came back, to find a terrified Eli hiding. They spent the next five years together, Jonathan teaching Eli as much as he could, while learning about the new world himself. It was a lot of trial and error, but they were alive.

Five years. It had felt like a hundred lifetimes for Eli. He and Jon got comfortable in their abilities in their second year, and began traveling longer stretches of distance. They visited many people, some friendly, some not. They discovered a lot of things about the new world. Like how quickly the plants grew, and which ones were helpful, or lethal. Which creatures would run, and those that wouldn't. The armor the Eli wears he and jon had fashioned together, making two sets. By their fourth year they began to circulate the same route of villages and communities, visiting each in turn. They became familiar with the area, and to the local populace they were called Phantoms, Ghosts, and Specters. Legends circulated through the places they visited the most often, many of them highly exaggerated.

Eli and Jon's fifth year rolled around. (Refuge would be finished in it's construction right now, or "fortification".) Eli's 28th birthday came and went, Jon was 45 now, and not feeling his age yet. They were going down a main avenue, in a city whose name had long been forgotten. The vines and shrubbery growing high up inside the buildings, trees towering overhead, weaving in and out of the ruined buildings. It looked like a thousand year old jungle had been growing here, excluding 995 years. They barely heard the chattering teeth at first, the taps of its pointed legs moving. They crouched, waiting for their foe. The distinct sounds identified the creature as something they locals called a Deathcrawler. It fast, cunning creature, armed with a paralyzing poison. They weren't known to travel in packs, but on this day they did.

The first one burst from a building a few yards away, speeding towards them. It got close, but not close enough. It was no match for their accuracy and they dropped the creature in a spray of blue blood, hitting most of its weak points. It was the one behind them that took Jon's life. The creature managed to catch Eli in the back with it's claws before he was able to take it down inside of a crumbling building, the creature becoming pinned in a collapsed doorway. There wasn't much of Jon left to bury after Eli had killed the creature, but he did the gruesome, bloody task. Sadness gripped Eli's heart, causing him to wander aimlessly for the next few months. At a great disregard for his own life.

It wasn't until a group of savages happened upon him, many of them tattooed from head to toe, that he realized he shouldn't squander all the information Jon had given him, and learn with him. He was busy rummaging through a pile of scrap, and apparently he was somewhere he wasn't suppose to be. Admittedly Eli responded aggressively, waving his gun around. Perhaps they attacked him out of fear. Eli ducked and rolled out of their gun sights, quickly dropping two of them in a burst of gunfire. The third leaped over Eli's protective barrier, and came an inch away from cutting his throat. Afterwards, he back tracked towards a community he hadn't bothered to stop at. There was no reason in particular, he was good at living off the land. But their walls looked strong, perhaps he could stay there for a time and get his wits about him.

Such a gentleman Aeon ^^ I bet you got quite the trail of broken hearts standing in line for you *tease tease poke poke* You remind me a bit of my own man with the chivalry and I must say it's vastly underrated.

Thankyou Reap, chivalry is not dead and I actually have a beautiful lady to fight off all those other women trying to get at me lol.

don't let that valiant demeanor fool you. ^^lol i am kidding!

She's not. I'm quite the fiend. Bwahaha!

Third post updated with SRF , S'torei , and Khu'lu per request.

In process of making my main character, he will be a Survivalist. It would make him an alright advisor to whomever the group leader is.

I'm eating out but ill do edits when I get home. As for the PTSD, I'll consider it

@Levi :: See, I knew there was a reason I liked you haha. Many thanks for the understanding. I already have clearance from my lady to take my two hours on whatever day I need it, should I need to, to start this up. (I will be making my character tonight when she goes to bed.)

Speaking of that what would you all like to see?
Option A: The Tinkerer. Will supply the party with prototype equipment, repairs, etc.
(The tinkerer will make life easier by maintaining equipment, and creating cool new stuff for free (usually).)

Option B: The Survivalist. (From the faction. Will have detailed information on creatures, safe areas, food sources, and etc. survival skills)
(Survivalist will make going outside the walls a hell of a lot easier, and staying out safer.)

I'm having a hard time deciding, any thoughts on my options?
