Yeah, no. That's not the reason I'm annoyed at your character having instant, irresistible for a large portion of the cast, uninterruptible powers which are essentially instant wins against multiple characters.

But as Lmpkio said, this argument is over.
They're who I was referring to. I just figured it was shorter than "force users"...Although in hindsight, I guess both of the force users are sith, so that would've been fine too.
There are also characters who can't deal with these powers. These characters are more likely to be the ones affected by the loss of their weapons.

You see where the problem is.

It'd be one thing if this was "it's more effective against group x than against group y", but it's "it does basically nothing to group y, but is an automatic win against group x".
"Just cuz one character can't stop it doesn't mean it's an illegal move."

"There are psychic/wizard/jedi characters in this RP, so it's fine if everyone else is effortlessly rendered useless by this power with no chance to avoid it." No. Just...no.
@Wraithblade6 Those situations aren't really the same though. A fireball? Dragon breath? Characters could reasonably dodge these. But as you said, your psychic attack isn't something that can be avoided, it's just an automatic "yep, your weapon's useless now".
Also, "I can instantly render any metal item permanently unusable and also cause massive damage if you don't get rid of it immediately and you can't dodge this" would...just be all around bad to have. Since you've basically just said "any character that uses a weapon has no chance of even trying to fight me and Reinhardt/Vader/anyone else with armour will die instantly".

I mean, I get that when your character's a big red demon that treats people being polite as an insult worthy of murder because they don't automatically know he believes he's the king of everything, you've got to have some big tricks up your sleeve. But...that one's a bit much.
Akira

Akira stared for a moment, dumbfounded by the fairy's introduction. In part because she'd never seen a real fairy before, although she had seen some strange supernatural things so it wasn't too hard to believe, but mostly because that name was far too long to even try to remember, let alone say! As Mei had proven. Fortunately, the fairy's pink-haired companion provided a much easier alternative.

"It's nice to meet you all." She gave a slight bow to the group.

Akira opened her mouth to introduce herself, then paused for a moment. You only get one chance at a first impression, right? And she was suited up anyway, so...

"A sparkling light to pierce the darkness!" Her left hand shot up, pointing to the sky. "People call me the Shining Hero, Celestial!"

After holding the pose for a few seconds, she returned to a more comfortable stance. So, these people were heading to a castle? There was no way she could pass something like that up! Sure, she'd seen photos of castles in various states of disrepair thanks to her father, but seeing a castle in its original condition was...well, not something she ever expected in her lifetime, for obvious reasons.

"Looks like this is your swansong, Cygnus! Sagittarius: Nova!" Akira took aim at the swan-like monster she'd been fighting, her bow beginning to hum with energy. The bird-man took flight in a panic.

"Draw," a deep, masculine voice called from the Celestial Compass.

She pulled back on her bowstring, following the instruction. The bird-man began to climb.

"Breathe," the voice instructed.

The energy took form, a glowing arrow appeared, knocked onto the bowstring. The creature ceased its ascent, now diving at high speed towards Celestial. It had heard this attack needed time to charge, if it took her out before she could fire it, everything would be fine. The distance between them dwindled rapidly as it raced across the quarry, 100 metres...90...70...40...10 metres...

"Release."

The bolt of energy shot out at the monster, engulfing it in a massive explosion as it impacted. Akira was used to these being further away, and the point-blank blast threw her back onto the cold stone behind and momentarily blinded her.

When her vision cleared, the red armoured heroine was...well, to say she was confused would be an understatement. How did she go from that quarry to some strange city? Was this some kind of illusion? Impossible, the Starbeast was dead and none of the Zodiac Council had been around. In that case, why did the architecture and people seem like they were from some other time? She paused for a moment, about to dismiss her suit. However, she reasoned that she would stand out like a sore thumb either way, and at least staying transformed might help if an unexpected conflict arose.

With that out of the way, she set off, in search of...well, she wasn't entirely sure what. Portals? Ominous sorcerers? Anything else that looked like it could be helpful? Soon enough, she spotted what she was looking for in a side alley, kind of. The group seemed to check one and a half boxes, at least. Both the woman with the futuristic gear and cold weather outfit and the pink-haired schoolgirl seemed about as out of place as she did and, while not as ominous as she'd expected, the last of the trio seemed to be some kind of wizard. Maybe they had a better idea about what happened?

"Hey!" She called, jogging towards them. "You're not from around here either, right?"

Name: Akira Hoshino

Title: Shining Hero Celestial

Gender: Female

Appearance: She's slightly above average heightwise, standing at 5'4". As Celestial, she wears a black undersuit with a constantly shifting star pattern, as well as a breastplate with white gems arranged to resemble the form's constellation, pauldrons, vambraces (the Compass being incorporated into the right one) and greaves. The colour of these armour pieces changes based on her current form (yellow for Leo, red for Sagittarius and blue for Capricorn). In addition, the suit's helmet changes, they each have large green eyes, with Leo's baring a stylised mane design, Capricorn's having goat horns and Sagittarius's resembling a stylised Corinthian helmet.

Personality: Akira is a generally pleasant and cheerful individual with a penchant for terrible puns. She tries to do the right thing, regardless of any risk to herself and has a strong sense of justice. She's generally good at controlling her temper, but threatening or attacking those who can't defend themselves is a good way to get her mad. While she's not completely inflexible, she can be somewhat stubborn once she's set her mind on something. Unfortunately, this means she's unlikely to retreat when fighting a superior opponent and can take a bit to be convinced to follow someone else's plans or look at things from a different angle.

Ideals: JUSTICE! Protecting those who can't help themselves, punishing evildoers and all that jazz.

Biography: Akira is the only child of an office worker and an archaeologist. Her father spent a lot of time travelling, and often returned with stories about ancient civilisations and the artifacts they had left behind. Her life was mostly uneventful; go to school, graduate, go to college, nothing special, until roughly a year ago. Her father was returning from Greece and Akira was to meet him at the airport. A number of individuals in dark robes set upon them in the terminal, attempting to steal her father's briefcase. During the attack, the briefcase was knocked aside and a strange voice called to Akira, seemingly from within it. Time seemed to slow as she opened it to find the golden brace and put it on. Thanks to the Compass's power, she was able to chase off the strange assailants and protect her father. In the time since, she has done her best to balance her studies with seemingly once a week attacks by monsters and the aforementioned dark robed figures.

Powers: By attaching the Celestial Compass to her right wrist and shouting an activation phrase, Akira can transform into the armoured hero, Celestial. As Celestial, her strength, endurance and speed are enhanced to above-human levels, though the exact levels vary between the forms. Each form has a "Nova" attack which, true to the name, displays far more power than normal. However, these abilities tend to be draining enough that they're generally only used to finish a fight.
Leo: Akira's most agile form and an effective melee fighter. In this form, she relies heavily on hand-to-hand combat and can create energy claws to power up her attacks. Leo Nova gives Akira a sudden burst of energy, allowing her to unleash a barrage of empowered claw slashes on a target.
Capricorn: Akira's balanced "all-rounder" form, it's stronger than Leo, but also slower. Capricorn arms Akira with a large axe which doubles as a guitar, making it an effective melee weapon that can also create short-ranged sonic attacks to disorient enemies. Capricorn Nova allows her to unleash a quick riff that temporarily paralyses a target, keeping them in place for the follow-up, a powered up axe swing.
Sagittarius: The least mobile and weakest melee fighter, this form makes up for it with rapid fire ranged attacks. Sagittarius carries a bow which creates a fiery projectile when its string is drawn back. Sagittarius Nova requires a short charging period, after which Akira fires a larger than normal arrow at high speed. This projectile creates a large explosion on impact.

Weapons: Under normal circumstances, none. Capricorn and Sagittarius summon an axe and bow respectively.

Equipment: Akira carries the Celestial Compass, a golden brace with a large white gem embedded in it. Other than that, just her clothes.

Universe of Origin: An original tokusatsu-inspired universe.
Awesome, thanks! Now I need to find somewhere to put her, I suppose.
