I am interested to say the least.
Man. Things have died down over the past few weeks. Its the reason I haven't been on RPG at all. I"m quite sorry about that absence and leaving my pretty CS looking oh so enticing. :P

I like what I see so far, just one minor nitpick. Since they're all just students, they wouldn't be masters of any martial arts just yet; experienced practitioners certainly, but not masters. Their skills and abilities will evolve over the course of the plot so in the future they can be. Squall, and Zell were considered "masters" of their respective fighting styles and still lost quite a bit. I mean I akin it to Black Belts. Trained since god knows when to reach Black Belt 1st level but still has a long way to go. I know what you are saying. Just two different thought patterns. I thought of it as the fact that students are trained from a very young age and he's able to master an aspect of his swordsmanship which has only made him accomplished but still has ways to go. I understand though. Change and finish things later.

Yamato/Swordsmanship Specialist: Lance is a very accomplished swordsman, carrying and utilizing a katana. He has a lot of lightning fast attacks and combos that overwhelm the opponent. He can close in and attack from long distances with top speed despite his blade's length. His powerful attacks are followed by another damaging assault, sometimes leaving the opponent hard to recover; his chained strikes are stylish and damaging; overall, he turns into a whirling top of destruction when in battle. Lance is renowned as a expert of Iai (居合, Drawing and Resheathing) — a style of swordsmanship which involves the user rapidly unsheathing his blade to slash the enemies, and then re-sheathing it after completing the attack.

Lance's disposition is a strange one, for he possesses an inherent amount of emotion despite what is viewed. His facial expression reveals an initially callous demeanor and is antagonistic to everyone he meets. However; there is more to his antagonistic nature than simply dismissing the presence of these individuals, but rather, he possesses an upfront behavior when dealing with them. He believes in one to be upfront, for without providing knowledge to your own intentions, you are thought to be a coward without any honor. Yet he remains calm and contempt, only ever letting his voice be heard with nothing but a soft whisper, yet even then, it possesses a ferocity that will cause them to immediately comply to any of his demands, regardless of their extent.
Lance possesses a very refined sense of manners. He appears to be very calm when talking to others, and normally quite respectful despite what one would expect of him. He uses the honorifics "-san", "-sama" and "-dono" quite frequently when referring to individuals of his own status, as he determines through their power. With others, he refers to them simply by their first name, or last name if he has no knowledge of their first name. What is intriguing about his mannerisms is that they are fit to hold conversation with some of the finest of individuals. Contrary to what one may believe, Lance holds a knack for conversation when a particular topic intrigues him, though he'll never be the one to initiate it.
Regardless of his traits, Lance is a young man with a cunning that very few are able to rival. His genius is, not at formulating excellent plans, but choosing the best two plans out of the many he thinks of. He uses these to create a primary plan of action, and a contingency plan, just in case. He is also far more deceptive than he makes out to be, and is able to deceive even experienced opponents with very simple tactics.
