Though, I can't tell who would know Megumi... I mean, magical girls who have been in Danzig for a while might of heard of a girl who had been killing them, but that's about it.

Unless someone wants to have known Yui, and then by extension Megumi (though it would require them to have been in Japan within the past 2 months).

You are right, that would be stupidly overpowered. The attack isn't to destroy the gem, but rather "cut it loose", shall we say.

@Cleopatra I changed the soul binding bit, since I get how that wouldn't work.

But for the other ability to do with the soul, the finisher, would still work (I think). There is a soul to hit, technically, it's just in the shape of a gem. The finisher is literally attacking the soul gem, not the magical girl.

If that isn't okay, I have another idea in mind for it.

The shell magical girls become is still controlled by the soul, and should (correct me if I'm wrong, which I likely am) still need normal things to survive (food, water, air). If you were to, say, shut down the brain by directly manipulating the soul, then the person would stop breathing, their heart would stop, and they would likely die.

We know that magical girls bleed, because Homura is shown to bleed in Rebellion. Therefore, stopping blood from pumping should have an effect.
