Imagine using the status bar to post about your personal life, instead of using it to drop bad memes on people. Couldn't be me.

Somebody, please, kill me before I have to see the RPG Status Bar turn into an argument over Feminism. I don't think the Guild can handle anymore issues at present, let alone Feminism.

Outdoor Amphitheatre

~ Curtain Call ~

Keeping his seat at the front of the Amphitheatre, Shirou watched as the rest of their fellows slowly trickled into the area. Thouh he wasn't sure exactly how many people he was actually expecting to turn up, this certainly felt like a few more than the idea he had originally entertained. Every one of them appeared reminiscent of similar ages, likely no older nor younger than himself, Nao, or Yukimori, for that matter. If they were all of the same age range, were they all students at Hopes Peak? Was that even possible, given the circumstances? There must have been a whole class of students present - was it really possible to kidnap them all?

Unsure exactly of how the situation would plan out, he kept his position, hoping to keep as close to the stage as possible. Whatever kind of "performance" they would see in such a place was no doubt to be far from a normal one, and though he hated to admit it, there would obviously be unrest within the group. After all, all of them had woken up in the middle of nowhere, without an indication or hint as to why. If it was indeed some kind of kidnapping situation, as had been suggested, then panic was sure to spread. If they could avoid that, then it was reasonable that they could overcome the issue.

He didn't, however, anticipate the stuffed, monochromatic bear. In fact, he would be hard pressed to say any of them expected it. But thus it came, out from the ground, or beneath the stage, a two-toned, toy bear. His usual reaction might have been to laugh, or joke at something so absurd. But this wasn't exactly a usual situation for him. Watching the thing closely, Shirou couldn't help but wonder as to what could manipulate a bear in such a manner - what kinds of things went into the toy to make it tick. The same went for their situation - what about them, and it, was so special?

Listening intently, despite the obvious comedic undertones of the scenario, Shirou attempted to piece things together in his head. Their host of sorts was the bear, aka Monokuma; they were in a summer camp of one kind or another; their memories had, by some method, been erased to a certain degree; and there was only one method by which they could escape. The fact that it described said method as "simple" was perhaps the singular thing to worry the boy, sending a modicum of a shiver down his spine. Whatever it was, he could be certain that it wouldn't be good, per se.

“All you have to do is kill somebody!”

Shirou grit his teeth at the words, and glanced around at the others, attempting to keep the expression on his face as neutral as possible. As expected, the vast majority of the group was similarly shocked, save a few exceptions - a certain girl in particular catching his eye, with a whole different form of distress on her face. He turned back, allowing himself to take in the rest of the lecture, as it were, and addressing each part in his head.

So that's how it would be. They didn't just have to kill someone - that would be too easy; they would have to get away with the crime in order to leave. He could only help but wonder what would occur if they were caught - the kind of infighting it would cause to have a murderer in their camp. The thought was worrying, certainly, but he had hope it wouldn't come to those kinds of extremes, or people would drop like flies.

Taking his own handbook and scrolling through its varying sections, he made mental notes of every Ultimate's names and Talents, as well as the map. People were already beginning to panic by the sounds of things - this would be the best chance he had to ensure that the group wouldn't fracture immediately. The news was shocking, but it wasn't something for them to get riled up about - not just yet.

Standing up, he made his way to the stage, and climbed up to face Monokuma, intending to place himself between his fellows and the bear, keen to keep the attention on himself, rather than their captor.
"And what happens if nobody dies?" he said aloud, hoping to overtake the conversation entirely, "As members of Hopes Peak Academy, you can't expect to kill each other, now can you? Even under threat of imprisonment, we have no reason to commit murder for the slim chance of escaping."

He turned to the group, keeping Monokuma out of view as best he can.
"We are all Ultimates. The best of the best. A bear's thinly veiled threat of us killing each other is far from enough to make us. As Ultimates, we're people who push past limits - if the bear says we only have one way to escape, then we'll make another way - isn't that how humanity has always progressed?"

Turning to one of the people calling out, he gave a small grimace, before addressing them.
"Unfortunately, I don't think it's that simple... Saitou, I believe. I'm afraid to say so, but I don't think it's our deaths explicitly that this bear wants." with his hand slightly elevated, as though he was giving some kind of motivational speech, he turned to address someone else, "So I believe you're right, Tsuin - we shouldn't listen. The only thing this bear could want from this is to watch us kill each other, but we're not going to let that happen."

With his little speech coming to a close, he took a step down off the stage, and started approaching the rest of the group.
"Therefore, it's nice to meet you all. I'm Shirou Emiya, The Ultimate Hero of Justice." slowly, he came to a stop, keeping his back to Monokuma entirely, "And I wont let any of you die."

Police Appeal for Witnesses After Latest Serial Killing

By Eden Campbell

Dark days have been plaguing our city as of late. Penrose may have been a strange city prior to these past months, but it can't be said that such occurrences have any lessened throughout them. The city has seen its fair share of hardship, if not more so, and nothing seems to be alleviating any time soon. The world is indeed dangerous, but Penrose feels to be a beacon for those kinds of issues.

One of these dangers are the serial killings in recent times. Horrific acts of violence against innocent people, both in the middle of the night and broad daylight. Without witness reports, there is no evidence for what kind of culprit could be behind them, but something terrible is going on in regards to them. Even in a city such as this, plagued with oddities and abnormal events, innocent civilians should feel safe to wander the streets, no matter the time of day, and yet they are robbed of the right to do so.

The Police recently released the details of the latest murder. From their analysis, it would appear to match the MO of its predecessors. According to their report, the victim was seventeen year old Elisabeth Lockwood, who was found dead in an alleyway on the East Side of Penrose by passersby. Much like the past victims, her corpse was mangled and torn, seemingly flayed from the inside, and left against the wall surrounded by blood.

This killing is one in a long line of similar violent crimes that have occurred within the past two months. At least fifteen victims have been found and identified by authorities, though there have been rumours that a number of even more vicious murders have been kept from the public. Each victim shares a similar circumstance - their bodies torn to scraps by their attacker. Bite and claw marks have been found, suggesting some kind of wild animal, but some wounds found suggest contrary due to their precise nature. Due to their repeated occurrences, the Police are treating these attacks as serial killings, rather than accidental deaths at the hands of wild animals.

Despite previous attempts, it would appear no one has come forth with evidence to suggest any culprit. With this newfound attack, Police have made a direct video recorded statement addressing the killer, requesting them to turn themselves (Below), and have once again pleaded for any eye witnesses to come forward with their accounts and evidence. The kind of person who could commit such violent and depraved acts, more closely resembling an attack by a wild animal, is an unthinkable one, and so it is unknown whether the statement will have any effect, however the people of Penrose are hopeful.

At The Penrose Independant, we urge anyone to come forward with any information regarding the crimes, or someone who could be in any way connected. If anyone is uncomfortable reporting it directly to the authorities themselves, we will send an anonymous tip on your behalf. Similarly, your identity and the identities of anyone named in your report will be kept anonymous until publicly announced in either a public or court statement by the authorities.

~ A New Day ~

At the top of a building, looking down upon the world, was a girl. She had blond hair, sharp, intent green eyes, and a set of casual, relatively mundane clothes. At the top of the building she sat, wielding a pair of relatively mundane binoculars. They were far some anything special, and much closer to a modified pair of bird watching goggles than anything truly practical for her job. That said, they were indeed modified; a larger focus, better lenses, a sturdier case. In reality, it was just something minor she had requested some days back, on the hopes of staying out of the firing line. Despite the eyesight she possessed in monstrous form, it was better to stay disguised for the time being. So the saying went. She was watching. And others might have been watching too.

Below on the street, a scene of chaos had unfolded, and the girl had quickly taken up a vantage point to better take in the ensuing events. She had purpose, yes, but at least a modicum of her being as intrigued by the others that would show up, and what they would do amidst the running and screaming humans. The fact that such a scene had erupted in both the middle of the day and in the middle of the street, at least on some levels, baffled her. Of course, it wasn't her first time witnessing a girl destroying the street and buildings in front of civilians, but the fact that it continued to happen left her with the question: is there some kind of benefit to fighting in the day?

Three.

Adjusting her own body a small degree, she positioned her gaze away from the scrambling magical beings over towards another person. A Monster Girl, so it seemed.
"It'll be better to deal with the monster first." she said aloud, no nobody in particular, not that there was anybody in the vicinity to hear it. Her finger rolled across a dial to the side, steadily increasing the focus to properly observe the scene. Information wasn't necessarily the most important in the moment, but with three people in her vision, she'd need to watch and isolate where they moved to.

And the other two?

"The Ebon Vampire will be too difficult to track. Have the web follow the other one, and see if they have a base of operations we can exploit." the presence addressing her in her own head dissipated, seemingly, like a fine mist vanishing. Her gaze shifted across the street towards the others, as they scurried among the wreckage's and rubble to find the bodies of survivors. She knew little of The Beacon, nor their methods, but such a task seemed like something they would undertake. Saving the lives of innocents and such. With how many girls had shown up in such a short time, she was surprised. Penrose truly was bustling.

Finished taking in the rescue forces, she once again turned to her quarry, only to find them alone by the accident. What company she had had already left, it seemed, leaving her vulnerable and open. Perhaps it wasn't the perfect chance to interfere, but they were nearing it. There were too many girls around to reliably strike. Of course, they were preoccupied saving lives, but there were many of them; a one versus five or so fight was far from her best interests. Instead, she continued watching, waiting for the girl to leave, move, or do something.

A simple buzzing drew her attention, forcing her hand into her clothes for the source. From out within she drew a simple, disposable flip phone, ringing with a withheld number.
"The Web has failed to locate Target Two."
"She was just here, how could she have disappeared so quickly?" she replied, the slightest note of annoyance creeping its way into the comment,
"Her method of escape is unknown."

When she returns, The Web will find her.

"Understood." as the voice crept its way back into her skull, she turned her attention back to the binoculars. Ending the call, she set the phone down against the concrete roof she sat upon, before adjusting her own sitting position for a better view. This was far from the kinds of missions she usually took on for The Lady, but it was a necessary one. The city was bloated with girls of all walks and kinds, and she had a bone to pick with a certain organisation.

But it wasn't a job for her to run in and attack its members at random. There was a certain finesse and delicacy that she needed to take to ensure the completion of the job in a satisfactory way. She could remember it - the things she was taught, the ways that they taught it, and the punishments for failure. The Ebon Mint was an organisation of shadows and ghosts, after all. Shadows would be the only way to deal with it from the outside.

And so she sat at the top of a building, watching. Waiting. And prepared to move at the first moment her target began to as well.
I also like that impression, cause then I actually have time to start finish my entry.

Outdoor Amphitheatre

~ Setting the Stage ~

Arm against the bench, waiting for the situation to defuse past its volatile state, Shirou glanced to his right, noting Maiya taking her own seat. Good. Perhaps it was a but of an assumption, but he was thankful that even in her shy manner she could understand that it was best to appear as friendly as possible, especially given the circumstances. This wasn't the time for messing about; they had things to talk about, questions to posit and answers to acquire.

"It's nice to meet you, Nao." he said simply, looking back over towards the girl and smiling, "As for what we know, well... I know that this is an Amphitheatre, for starters." he looked around, before looking in the direction of the lake, "And over there is some kind of dock. So, if I had to make a guess on where we are... I'd say it was some kind of camp grounds."

As he finished his sentence, the monitors nearby lit up with their message. It was a voice he had never heard before, referring to things he wasn't sure upon. How they would escape, and what was going on. They were all things they needed to know, needed to hear, but the tone with which the man on the other end of that monitor spoke with unsettled something within him. This wasn't going to be a pleasant meeting, that much he could tell.

"I suppose that answers that. "Campers" - this is definitely a camp ground." he said as he looked at Naomi, then back towards Maiya, his smile lessened by a small degree, though barely noticeably, "And yeah, I'd say you're right, Yukimori. his eyes trained on the now dim monitor, eyeing it somewhat cautiously, "More people will be coming our way. But.. kidnapped or imprisoned is probably a little bit far." of course it wasn't, but they couldn't be allowed to know that.

Once again, he gestured to Naomi, requesting her to sit down.
"You might as well take a seat, Nao. The people coming will be much the same as ourselves, so we can ask them about all this." he wasn't confident on that, but his voice didn't betray it; keeping himself seemingly confident was the best measure to ensure Nao didn't flee at the idea of more people coming, "But, if I can start, I know what I was doing before waking up here. I was on my way to Hopes Peak. Do either of you..." he turned his gaze from Naomi back to Maiya, "Remember anything similar? What you were doing, where you were, how you might have ended up here? Anything would be useful."

Outside the Arts, Sports and Presentation Cabins

~ T-Pose for Dominance ~

Lilly couldn't help but giggle at the boy with orange hair, mimicking her actions like a child. Was this the kind of company should be joining for the camping activities - people equally as fun as herself?! If that was the case, then she couldn't wait! Well, she couldn't wait even more than she couldn't already wait! That bubbling pot of excitement threatened to boil over as they spoke, giving their respective memories, and so on so forth.

But something caught her ears.
"Wait you were going to Hopes Peak too?!" immediately as she finished her question, or perhaps exclamation, she ran up in front of the boy once again - Hamazura Ginshi, as he had introduced himself by, "So was I, so was I!" in a step she backpedalled, and struck a pose that, while it was supposed to express her being an figure of importance, like some famous person up on a pedestal, seemed to come of decidedly less than flattering.

"I'm the 'Ultimate Hacker'! What about you, Carrot Top?" already, her usage of nicknames was coming into play, "And, and, you too, Blueberry! Were you going to Hopes Peak? Are you an Ultimate too?!" every word she spoke seemed to drip in that excitement that permeated her body language, no doubt endlessly happy at the kinship she had found with her new friends. Her eyes glistened with joy, as they stared up towards Hibiki, oblivious to the glaring sunlight, piercing him with her enthusiasm.

This was going to be so much fun.

Presentation Cabin

~ Enthusion ~

From the moment Lilly had exited the cabin, she had begun skipping along the path. Bunny in hand, pockets stuffed with papers and presentations, and a heart filled with excitement, she was on her way to find and explore every new thing she could possibly uncover. From her vantage point on the path, she could already see a series of six other buildings, punctuated with a gate straight ahead. From it extended a large fence, which she eyed carefully. Someone had taken the time to erect a fence around a camp grounds - camp grounds that Lilly had just awoken in, dazed and without any memories.

But there was no barbed wire atop it. If it existed to keep them contained, there should have been some kind of containment measure to prevent her - and anyone else in her same position - from climbing over it. And yet, at first glance, there was nothing of the sort. Was it electrified then? Her eyes scanned along the outskirts of the grounds, along the fence, to the gate, and then back around again until her vision hit the lake. Nothing.

"I'm Hibki, you?"

A voice out from behind as she turned, and she locked onto a boy, no doubt her age, with medium to short length, bright blue hair, looking right back at her. At their distance, she could see the glint of the sun against his glasses, turning them white as it was reflected. At first, she thought she had skipped a long way down the path, but as she looked, still, she was stood beside the cabin she had just left. She hadn't even noticed the two other neighbouring cabins beside it!

"Helloooo!" she called out, an immense smile gracing her lips as she took off in a run towards the boy, "New person, okay. Hi Hibiki! I'm Lilly, Lilly Hart!" every word she said dripped with enthusiasm, and a childish glee. It hadn't even been a second before the distance between them had been bridged, and before he could even comprehend what was happening, she was stood right in front of him, gripping one of his hands with her own and shaking it.

It was already easy to gauge what kind of person she was. Easily excitable, barely controllable, and with no sense of personal space or "typical" social customs. She wore an unshakeable smile, awfully ecstatic at the chance to make a new friend. Eventually, she let go of his hand. But not because she wanted to. In fact, she was barely even looking at Hibiki as she did so, instead having turned her attention to the door beside them, in which stood another boy.

As quickly as Lilly had rushed up to Hibiki, she had turned and darted into the open doorway of the Sports Cabin, grabbing the new person by the hand and dragging them out with every ounce of pitifully weak strength she could muster, hoping for her quarry to make up the difference.
"Did you guys all wake up here too then?!" as soon as they were out of the door, she skipped of a little into the field, before spinning on an axis, arms outstretched like a small child pretending to be an aeroplane, and facing them, "What are you guys doing here? Do you remember anything?! Caaaaaaaaaauuuuuuuuuuuuse I don't!"

Outdoor Amphitheatre

~ Collected ~

For as strange as the situation might have appeared to outside eyes, Shirou never let down his composure. Perhaps it was an arrogant mind talking, but to him, that was one of his best features - the ability to keep a calm and rational exterior, for the sake of those unable to do similar. No doubt it would in handy here, particularly with the girl in front of him. her behaviour and mannerisms were far from unexpected; anyone would be expected to react in much the same way as her had they woken up in an unknown location, surrounded by people they had never met.

It was obvious from the outset that she was shy. Despite his best efforts, things were likely to be difficult. One didn't become so bashful without a lack of social experiences.
"Alright then! - Yukimori it is." he couldn't act scared or nervous by any measure, not for anyone, and especially not for this girl. Without someone to support her awakening, it was hard to say she would fair, and that was beyond unacceptable. Some people he used to know might have called it White Knighting, now that he thought out it... but it was still his duty, as a Hero.

"You probably don't remember anything, do you?" for a second, his eyes flicked off to the side, just a short ways, keeping the second girl in his periphery as she fell, and then darted behind a set of the benches, "Try not to panic - I don't remember anything either, so we're in the same boat on that regard."

It was far from a confidence inspiring statement, but it would at least extend some familiar ground between them. Establishing things in common would be essential if he wished to keep their fear, paranoia and anxiety from boiling over. He had barely looked back and finished talking when the second girl blurted out her comment, eliciting them both to look in her direction.
"Well, it wouldn't be right to leave her out, right? I imagine she's just as scared as us both."

And with that, Shirou began walking. Not quickly, or with too much an imposing presence. Nor did he get too close. He simply closed some of the distance between them.
"Hey there. Shirou Emiya." he raised a hand, giving a small, somatic gesture of friendliness, and then gestured behind him, "And this is Yukimori." his hand dropped back down against his thigh, "We just woke up as well, so we don't know much either."

Instead of simply standing, waiting for her to approach, he turned and took a seat on the bench behind him, resting his elbow against the back of the stonework to face the new girl, "I think we're all a bit confused, actually, so..." with he free hand, he motioned for her, and Yukimori, to take a seat nearby, "Why not come and sit down? We can try find out a little more about each other, and then work out what we do next. Sound good?"
