Speaking of which (proceeds to talk about something entirely unrelated),

I know we are still waiting for our Time Player, but I don't suppose we could start putting up our intro posts in the IC? Basic introduction - names, interests, hobbies, and psychotic auditory hallucinations bossing you around. No mentioning of/communicating with other players or continuation until the fourth player is established though.

Something to keep us busy, in other words. :P

Actually, the Alpha Kids didn't really have a clearcut theme. You could make a better argument for them having an elemental theme (Frost, Heat, Light, Wind), but it's sort of messy.

Meanwhile, the Beta Trolls' lands have absolutely no discernible theme whatsoever.

The reason the Beta kids had noble gasses as planet themes is because Noble Gasses are inert, e.g. it's another reference on the heap to their session being Null.

But if the rest of you are keen on it, I wouldn't mind making a change.

Egil is already listed as heading to the Lands of Ruins and Towers, so that's a possibility. We could even have themes from each of the lands overlap in spots in that case.

I think it's not unreasonable for them all to have met via forum. But the kids being able to communicate in realtime is sort of a necessary practicality.

Egil is faintly obsessed with certain niche videogames as well as science fiction writing, so I imagine he would have plenty to talk about with Mimi if they met on some games/literature forum. Meanwhile, his interest in blacksmithing and crafting (in the hardware sense) may have landed him in an arts and crafts forum or chatroom on occasion, which is how you might have met Lily.

Also, any idea on how to deal with pester logs using these forums only? I don't have access to a computer often enough to use any programs long turn so...

Sure. Check out the etherpad link in the second post, it would be a snap to format pesterchum conversations in one of those pads, and its a web service rather than a program.

I simply must know how old you are: No you do not, citizen.

Tell me about your ensemble!: I wear a regulated work and combat uniform as a member of the Burmingham's London Intelligence for Governmental Hideouts and Trafficking division, as issued by the Governor's Office. Each uniform is a tailored, single-piece suit made of luboric treated leather, appearing as trousers and a long coat. The outfit has an underweave of steel electroplated silk. Each uniform is completed by standard issue boots, gauntlets, helmet and visor, all made of certain ceramic compounds and with adherent rubber seals. Although I am a senior commissioned officer, each of these items does not deviate in design or appearance from those issued to any other member of the Burmingham's London Intelligence for Governmental Hideouts and Trafficking division. Each item is smooth, seamless, and devoid of any distinguishing features or notable points. When in dress, my uniform is adorned with a number of distinguished service medals. Even when out of dress, I wear a white armband identifying my rank.

How would your friends describe you?: Under the stipulations of the Burmingham's London Intelligence for Governmental Hideouts and Trafficking division's code of conduct, chapter 9, section 41, subsection 8, paragraph 1, it is a statutory offence to reveal any personal information pertaining to any personnel within the division to members of the public, media, citizenry, nobility, and/or royal family. Not only can I not tell you whether I have any friends, but they, if I have any, also cannot tell you.

Remind me who...err...I mean, what organizations you affiliate with?: Certainly. As a member of the Burmingham's London Intelligence for Governmental Hideouts and Trafficking division, I am an employee of the Governor's office as well as a member of the royal army. I meet the requisite criteria to be a member of the House of Lords, but by division statute I am forbidden from joining due to the necessarily selflessness and anonymity of my dedication and commitment to my monarch and country.

Where do you reside, exactly?: That is classified information, citizen, and you are treading dangerous waters with your questioning.

Could you describe, in general, the daily requirements of your job?: Certainly. As a colonel in the Burmingham's London Intelligence for Governmental Hideouts and Trafficking division, I am responsible for officiating law and peace-keeping operations as well as maintaining the security of the realm. I handle logistics, particular security concerns, staffing, and state awareness for the larger part of the greater London area. As a member of the royal army, in times of war or civil upheaval I command a brigade of men in service to the realm and crown.

What kind of living is that?: Service is my only joy, citizen.

Do you have anyone you fancy?: Romantic affiliations and coteries within the Royal Army as well as the Burmingham's London Intelligence for Governmental Hideouts and Trafficking division are strongly discouraged between a superior officer and any of their subordinates. Romantic affiliations and coteries by members of the latter group with members of the public, media, citizenry, nobility, and/or royal family are strictly forbidden. If I were pursuing any romantic interests, I would not be permitted to divulge any pertinent details due to the stipulations of the Burmingham's London Intelligence for Governmental Hideouts and Trafficking division's code of conduct, chapter 9, section 41, subsection 8, paragraph 1.

Citizen, you are coming with me for processing and enhanced questioning for loitering and inappropriate solicitation of a member of the Burmingham's London Intelligence for Governmental Hideouts and Trafficking division.

What is the point of this character?: Not intended as a character who causes problems. Rather, they are a source of intrigue within the setting - yes, there are a member of the Burning, but they have a great many concerns and cannot devote all of their attention to any one particular area of interest. This character will most often be seen having 'delicate conversations' with influential members of industry, parliament, nobility, etcetera, while also directing the general movements of certain elements of the Burning in response to trends in the city. If the colonel finds out about smuggling or unmonitored in a particular area of the city? He organizes increased security sweeps and random searches, and goes to have a chat with whoever the biggest name in the area is. He's a mover and shaker in the Burning, but he is but one of many, and his loss and/or performance in the grand scheme of things would not hurt the Burning.

Or, in short, he's a passive background threat to the other characters and a plot multiplier. Fear his jackboots. :E
