Hey remember when this site didn't have 3 tabs in the IC threads? Crazy.

People like to nudge aside the fact that there's a level of commitment to hosting, and joining an RP. The majority of players don't have it in either case, regardless of how interesting an idea is.

I've been gone so long that I forgot what the status bar was like. It's like coming back to an old apartment, except it's not an apartment anymore, it's just two walls and a lot of heroine addicts.

Plains of Ire

Inside the Z-ATV

Zay waved the book away casually and yawned. "I'm not much for reading, Jager," Zay wheezed, stretching his entire body and falling back into his seat again, "Word of mouth is where I get my knowledge from. Otherwise I'd be an ignorant old fool, like this guy over here." Zay motioned towards Dan with his eyes and pursed his lips into a faint smile. Dan was still lost in his own little world, and payed them no mind. By now the ATV was well into the Plains of Ire, making its way to the hillside that bordered the Illon republic which barely scraped by the edge of Illuna Forest. The ATV strode forward at its top speed, not stopping for anything on its path into the unknown..

~About an hour later~

Far past the Illon republic, and the swamps that surrounded it, Z-ATV-1 had made its way into a large expanse of progressively drier land. The once lush grass that covered hills for miles had become brown and decrepit, as if it hadn't rained for weeks. Eventually, the grass had all but vanished, replaced sandy, cracked dirt that shifted up and down at random intervals. This place had no name from Arcadia's perspective, but to the nations relative to its location, including Illon, it was known as the Windtrace Dunes. It was vast, uneven, and littered with patches of tall, brittle-looking grass that the ATV did not heed, trampling patch after patch relentlessly.

"We're nearing a steep incline!" the driver's voice roared through a small funnel above them. It connected into his room through a simple pipe system, allowing his voice to travel into the cabin without fail. Haley looked up nervously and nodded to herself. The ATV pulled up to a stop at the edge of one of the large hills, sinking into the dry ground at the edge. Dan sprung forwards and pushed his visor up. He blinked several times, apparently waking from a nap. Zay was equally startled by the sudden halt, but didn't react as such. "Already? We'd just passed Illon thirty minutes ago," Zay cautioned, getting out of his seat and rushing towards the ATV's left-front window that sat next to Haley's chair. "It's like a desert with... No sand..."

Zay's commentary was accurate, for what he could see through the thick window frame of the ATV, anyways. From the cockpit, one would notice a vast expanse of sand that went on for kilometers after a 10 meter drop. The ATV could not proceed easily. There'd have to be preparation made for its continued voyage.

Several yards away, following the ATV's tracks, were a pack of peculiar creatures that neared the truck cautiously. Trailing far enough behind to stay out of sight, the hungry creatures waited for the metal monstrosity that trespassed on their lands to release its delectable passengers.
Gaius Stronurr

In a panic above the surface

With little time to react, and no help to be found in their allies, Gaius and Lee continued to lose altitude despite their forward momentum, dropping lower and lower until they were dangerously close to the surface. Finally, the dark shapes and silhouettes below them were starting to become discernible. They'd apparently found themselves no more than 400 meters above a large stretch of forest, where they would soon be stranded if none came to assist them. "No, no! Lee, brace yourself!" Gaius shouted, grasping both of the poles that latched to his glider as they neared the treetops. His iron boots and greaves struck several branches on the way down, sending wood and leaves crashing to the ground. When his glider was finally level with the treetops, Gaius was hopeful that they would be able to slow their descent and climb down to safety.

But fate had less optimal plans in store for the sky people, planting a massive tree right in their path. Gaius veered left when their chances of landing unscathed narrowed to an infinitesimal degree, kicking off of the massive trunk with his right foot while his glider hung at a 45 degree angle, barely tearing a strip of bark from the tree with the tip of its right wing. "Hup-" they were safe... At least for a moment, until their path was flooded with a flurry of foliage and branches. The Gaius Glider tore through the overgrowth, barely keeping its shape while their descent was slowed to a relative crawl. Gaius shielded Lee as best he could with his left arm until they were through the branches and leaves, and several meters below the treetops. Unfortunately, their luck had run out when the glider's left wing was torn clean in half upon striking a tree trunk roughly 15 meters above ground level. The sudden jolt unhinged the second shoulder bar and jerked Gaius into a forward roll, which promptly sent Lee off of his back, and pulled his glider to pieces. Gaius followed shortly after, losing his helmet in the fumble, and landing hard on his left shoulder against a small clearing of grass. Gaius tumbled and turned until his body ground to a halt at the base of a nearby tree, where he turned onto his back and spread his limbs apart, astonished that he was still breathing. Several moments passed as Gaius lay silent with his cheek resting against the cold forest ground. He finally managed to turn his head upwards, licking his fuzzy lips as he thanked the gods above for the mercy they'd bestowed upon him. "Heh heh hoh-oh..."
@KendrikDmer He seems ok, but what do his voice abilities imply? Expand on those a little, please. Otherwise, you can pop him into the characters tab.

You can join a group at your leisure, passing through no-mans-land by sheer coincidence, or I can throw you into a situation myself. Which would you prefer?

If its the former, I'll have to give you a brief rundown on the current groups.
@KendrikDmer You can find the OOC in my signature, or the first post of this thread. From there, you'll have all the information you'll need to create a character. All questions should be messaged to me privately, or put in the ooc thread. Glad to see you're interested!

The Meeting Point

Gaius left behind a series of iron footprints as he sprinted across the cliff's edge to the best of his ability, picking up considerable speed as he kicked up dirt with his jade-set boots. "And we're off," He said softly to himself with a huff, kicking off of the rocky ledge. His final step sent stones crumbling into the abyss below. For a moment, it looked as if the massive glider wasn't going to hold together, but several meters away from the cliff's edge, Gaius and Lee were gliding without much trouble through the vast expanse of clear sky. "Hold on tight," He shouted past the noise of his armor clattering against the wind, "It's quite the drop!" That it was. There was no chance of survival if somebody fell from a height like this.

Twang!

The noise was accompanied by a sudden weightlessness in his right shoulder. Gaius looked up and quickly rose his right hand to grab the bar that snapped from its joint on his shoulder plate, barely managing to secure his grip before the glider lose balance. "Whoa-Whoa!" Gaius cried out in a panic, struggling to keep his wingspan level as he trailed behind the other gliders, who'd passed him up by now with ease. "Shoot- No! Shit!!"

Gaius and Lee began losing altitude, but were able to remain airborne. But how long would it be before the second latch snapped? Perhaps this contraption wasn't meant for two people after all..
@mokley Where are we supposed to be landing btw?
Lork funk confirmed for post-game boss battle.
Arcadia

Inside the Z-ATV

Dan ignored the commentary of his peers and sunk deeper into his silly trance as the titanic wheels below them creaked into motion. A heavy vibration rung throughout the passenger cabin as the engine whirred louder and louder. At the heart of the ATV's engine, ventricles of magical energy pumped progressively faster, eventually whirring to a point of stability where the only sounds and motions felt were coming from the vehicle's tires. Zay nodded once as the beastly machine kicked off. The amount of turbulence was surprisingly low, even when they hit its top speed at a considerable 80 mph. It was pretty amazing that this thing could even go that fast! Zay looked at Jager and shook his head subtly.

"I just observe. I don't know much, aside from what I've been told, but his theories on ki are fascinating, to say the least," Zay said, cupping his elbows and sinking back into his chair comfortably. The ATV made its way out of Arcadia now, and would certainly run into something within the next hour.

Xena Rock Fields

Inside the other Z-ATV

Yvette poked her head out of the hatch and surveyed the surroundings. By now, he men had buried their peers and returned to the vehicle, waiting for the repairs to be completed. All except for Onweer, who was still napping underneath the lone tree nearby. Yvette turned towards her and narrowed her eyes. Damn it. "Miss Daybreak!" She shouted, "Miss daybreak!!" They weren't ready to leave, but Yvette was lost for options here. Surely if they didn't take shelter, something else would find them. Probably not another serpent, but certainly not something friendly.

Rightfully so, a pair of travelers were stationed about a kilometer away, atop a large rock in the distance. They were concealed by the jutting stone near the top, but could see their targets easily with a help of an ornate spyglass in their possession. "Three visible, probably more in that trashed hunk of metal," one of the hunters whispered. A woman, dark-haired and slender, lay crouched with her head peering over the stone blockade. She licked her lips, putting the spyglass away as her partner, a younger man with curly blonde hair, sat with his arms crossed at her side.

"I can't fucking believe we found people way out here."

Hyznia

Castle Exterior

Ruso stopped mid-step, staggering back and covering his ears with both hands. "Argh!" He roared, still walking backwards. In that moment, the 7-foot monster of a man clasped his right hand into a fist and materialized a small hammer between his fingers, but refused to let his ears fall victim to the full brunt of Rem's sonic sound. The shorter man's feet sunk slightly into the hillside as he felt his entire body grow heavier. The sudden shift in weight made him grit his teeth and lash out once again with his blade, this time merely swiping at the air. His slash was slow, but it released a thin wave of bright white energy towards Sulfrax, threatening to slice at his throat. The small man looked confused as Sulfrax began speaking of arcane energy and Ki, but didn't respond. Instead, he whipped his left hand up above his head, causing the air around him to whip erratically. The grass at his feet danced, but before he could follow through, something clung to his shoulder and toppled him to the ground. His chest struck the ground hard. His short sword de-materialized and he let out a loud cry of pain, alerting Ruso to his situation immediately. The large man spun towards his ally with his eyes wide with horror.

"Florence!" Ruso grunted, releasing his ears and reeling his small hammer back behind his head. Senna was his target, but before he continued forwards and attempted to crush the creature's spine, he called out to her with an indiscernible roar. Senna would understand this as more than just a display of might, as Ruso was speaking to her directly in a tongue known only to the wildlife of the world.

~Still your claws, now!~

Would his words usher in surprise? He had hoped that much, at least, lest his friend be torn to shreds before he could disable the massive beast. Regardless of whether or not this was the case, the force behind Ruso's hammer was disproportionate to its tiny size. Its blows were heavily concussive, using his Ki as a power source to launch whether the tiny weapon struck. Size didn't matter, after all.
@Tombprince I think that'll be fine, yea.
Krunk Fortress, Lobby

HOTHOTHOT!

General Horns barreled through the flames like a molten ball of glass, but his armor didn't lose its form at all. Instead, the entire thing turned bright brown (Like a hashbrown!) and bounced off an uneven brick in the ground. But while overheard, the heated general retreated from within his armor and wiggled around in midair, ruining his trajectory and sending him colliding into the wall behind Zerraf and Jenso, missing them both. Upon striking the wall, Horns bounced back and rolled clumsily onto his back, flailing his arms and legs frantically. His armor quickly cooled off and returned to its original shade of chocolate brown. "HOT HOT HOT!" He cried, still trying to get onto his feet. "LORD KRUNK LORD KRUNK! FIRE BAD!"
