I feel like Myriad Reality is somehow the secret glue holding this entire site together

People like to nudge aside the fact that there's a level of commitment to hosting, and joining an RP. The majority of players don't have it in either case, regardless of how interesting an idea is.

I've been gone so long that I forgot what the status bar was like. It's like coming back to an old apartment, except it's not an apartment anymore, it's just two walls and a lot of heroine addicts.

Gaius Stronurr

The Forest Floor

Gaius heaved a heavy breath and lowered his sword's tip to the ground gently. The beast was defeated with a single swing. What a feat! Gaius felt more alive than he ever had before. Suddenly those stories of slaying dragons and braving many a danger in the untold wilds echoed in his heart like premonitions rather than fantasy. He craned his neck from side to side, slowly surveying the falling boulders that rose a moment earlier. Did he do that? Or was it the beast? Or a combination of two powerful souls crashing against one another on the field of battle? Gaius felt something steel his resolve, emanating from the bone creature's remains. It was pride. The pride of a guardian who'd stake his life on the possibility that he could save many others. Gaius turned to Rahna, breathing normally as if he'd not exerted himself at all, and smiled. With one hand, he wiped his face clean of sweat and blood, and withdrew his sword with a careful motion, sure not to damage his sheath or armor in a fumble.

"I feel born anew!" He roared and grabbed his waist with a loud 'clank' of jade-fused steel, "A warrior of old, fallen from the heavens!" His voice boomed loudly enough to shake the leaves and thistles surrounding them. The pain in his chest had returned, but he didn't acknowledge it. Something buzzed louder behind him though, prompting him to spin his head to the left. Despite his heroic pose, the little dragon was relatively unfazed, expressing its confusion through a flick of its neck and a short, high pitched purring sound. Gaius' smile shrank. But before he could question the little dragon's existence, a crash of light stole his attention. The little faerie turned as well. Rahna asked him if he could go on immediately afterward, but Gaius was already on the move, headed towards the flash of light.

"It isn't a question of can, I must! Come, Rahna!" Gaius ordered, overtaken by a sense of duty. Was the flash caused by their allies? Just what the hell was going on over there? "There's no time to waste!"
Xena Rock fields

The Wrecked ATV Clearing

As Jenso approached the wreckage, he would see several graves, and nobody out in the open. That's when Brian peered out of the window, confident that Yvette's monstrous blast had taken care of the hunters. "Hey, it's you!" Brian called out, "Yvette, it's that Diver from before!" Yvette struggled to peer over the bottom edge of the ATV's front window, but she saw him approaching. "I didn't notice him earlier. My abilities haven't been responding normally as of late, I'm sorry.." Brian whispered. Yvette waved him off and fell back down.

"Bring him in here," She ordered, "There's only two of us left. If he already wants us dead, he'll kill us regardless of our actions." Brian nodded and headed towards the ATV's top hatch, which was still jammed open from the earlier confrontation with The Xena Serpent. He waved Jenso over peacefully, and pointed towards the ATV below him. Jenso was welcomed into the vehicle without any issues at all.
The lead bandit jumped out of the spinning wheel's way, thoroughly surprised that this man was capable of dodging their gunpowder powered weapons. "Shit!!" He screamed, aiming to shoot at Jenso. But Jenso's fist had initiative, and with one punch, he knocked the man flat on his ass. The tall man was also taken aback, sure that his shot would kill Jenso on the spot. The wheel crashed against his head and split into two pieces, while shattering the man's head and knocking him out cold. The fat man fell over entirely, but the masked man was quick to retaliate, firing several shots at the now out-in-the-open Jenso before he could even reach him or his fat comrade.
Lord Krunk's Quarters

Ka-THUNK!

Lord Krunk's helmet tanked the full brunt of Jenso's attack, but as the bottom rim of his armor violently smashed against the ground, missing both Zerraf and Drake, his fate was sealed. With a loud thunk, and a massive reverberation of metal, Lord Krunk's helmet was bent forward and torn from its metal seams that reached all the way around his neck. The flattened helmet flew right off and towards Jenso like a reverse-domino, revealing Lord Krunk's bald, mishapen head. It didn't hurt at all, but without his helmet, the world could see him for what he truly was...

...An obese geek in a suit of armor

"ARRRGH! MY HELMET! NOT MY HELMET!" He shouted in a panic. Lord Krunk struggled to stand up, pulling the rim of his armor off the ground and grabbing the make-shift ramparts with both of his hands. Jenso, assuming he wasn't crushed by the debris of Lord Krunk's magnificent helmet, might have noticed a pair of bandages on lord Krunk's noggin, crossed in the form of an 'X marks the spot' over his shiny skin. "NO NO NO NO!" Krunk pulled himself up and prepared to slap Jenso with his un-ringed hand as soon as he could spot him.
"Eh?" All four of the Bandits immediate shot up from the boxes they were sitting on and pulled out their respective weapons. "Who the hell are you, banana man?" Each of them were equipped with a gun, every one of a different make. They all looked equally capable of inflicting serious harm though. Jenso had never seen weapons like this before! Were they magic? Before he could react, one of the men shot at him. The tallest, lankiest individual in the back. The other three bandits were startled by the staunch man's decision to fire his weapon without investigation. The loud-mouthed average-sized man flinched forwards, while the fatter man almost tripped. The fourth man who's face was covered didn't move, but closed his eyes in annoyance at his ally's swift action.
"They squealed like pigs!" One man whispered aloud, following it up by making a pig noise. Two or three other men laughed in response. Jenso couldn't tell how many there were on sound alone, but he heard a few different voices. "Can't believe all they had 'was shiny silverware. It's gunna be months 'fore we can fence this shit."

"They was headed to Arcadia though! They one-horse-town aint got no-one rich enough to afford silverware this fancy. D'ya think they were movin' in?" Another man with a lighter, more bulbous voice commented. Jenso could immediately remember the news that Gregory's cousin and his wife would be moving into town within the week. They were rich people, and were making multiple trips to transfer their belongings personally. Did these men..?

"Shame we had to kill those horses. Tough and loyal, they wouldn't have been a use to us anyways," A third, stout man's voice said. He sounded like a killer with no emotion. Who the hell..
Chapter 3

Bandits!

Jenso found himself on the grand trail in no time, a road the merchants and travelers took on a daily basis, but not one that Jenso had ever traveled on before. Leaving Arcadia was once something beyond his capabilities, but with almost nobody left to protect, and a new evil force on the horizon, he was forced to step foot onto the unguarded and dangerous twisting paths between the most powerful countries. It didn't take long for Arcadia's tall buildings to disappear over the horizon. This was the infamous grand trail, epic in scale and danger.

After several hours of walking, the trail was blocked by a wrecked carriage with a few dead horses nearby, along with their owners. It looked as if someone had pillaged the people riding it, as there was a huge hole in its side, with a few boxes torn open nearby. Jenso could hear something coming from behind it. Voices? Who knew.
The trio of Arcadian residents walked towards the door and waved him off from the shop's front entrance. The entire square had bodies strewn about, but Jenso made his way through them, resolute to avenge their deaths the only way he knew how. But finding the culprit, and kicking his ass. But he couldn't just run into a minefield without the proper tools. So with that in mind, he made he way towards Zentai, a country to the east. It was quite the trek, but Jenso was ready to make it.

"Oh Jenso! Jenso!" Maggie called out, sprinting towards him and avoiding the bodies. She handed him a bag full of sandwiches and kissed him on the cheek. "Don't starve!" She asked him, before running back towards the safety of her home. Bill waved hard and toppled into his wife, crying his eyes out while Harold just stood there, staring at Jenso as he made it way out of town.

"Godspeed," Harold muttered, "And good luck"

@Necrophage Names are fine as long as they aren't major. If you want to add major NPCs with plot relevance, let me know in pm.
