Hey remember when this site didn't have 3 tabs in the IC threads? Crazy.

I feel like Myriad Reality is somehow the secret glue holding this entire site together

People like to nudge aside the fact that there's a level of commitment to hosting, and joining an RP. The majority of players don't have it in either case, regardless of how interesting an idea is.

I've been gone so long that I forgot what the status bar was like. It's like coming back to an old apartment, except it's not an apartment anymore, it's just two walls and a lot of heroine addicts.

Jenso's kick tore through the pawn just before it could release a stream of electricity, and it crumbled to nothingness. The pyramid from earlier though, released a stream of purple energy in the form of a laser, sweeping across half of the field, and stopping several yards before hitting Jenso. Ada frowned beneath her mask and raised an arm.

Suddenly, the cylinder in front of Jenso moved towards him like a steam engine, barreling across the room in an attempt to crush him outright.
Men and woman stampeded towards the seemingly limitless selection of food, taking what they wanted and grouping up near the lake's edge, usually with their families. Lystra's mother chuckled at the girl's response and let go of her wrist. She'd gotten just a little carried away by the festivities, regardless of how boorish they were. "Sorry Lys, sorry! You know how I get around this time of year," she pleaded, slowing her pace to stay by Lystra's side. Gremma was a little quick to lose herself in the silliest things, but the woman always tried her best to keep her head from falling too far into the abyss of the feast. "I'm going to put together a plate for myself, find me by the lake when you're ready," Gremma conceded, leaving Lystra to her own devices. Sometimes Gremma forgot that her new daughter wasn't just a fledgling, not that she knew what it was like to take care of a real child. The fates weren't kind to Gremma, or her late husband.

"Lystra!" A familiar voice rang out from behind, "Lystra did you see? Kalo's technique was crazy!" Almost like a typhoon of ecstatic laughter, Emilia barreled into Lystra and clutched her with both arms, no doubt with a unique perspective on the match that she was dying to share. "He was so damn precise! Like a hawk, or, or... A boar? No, boars aren't precise. Like a bird of some kind, probably, definitely a hawk!" Emilia rambled on, having trouble organizing her thoughts. She was always the excitable type, but the girl was smart, like a professor who could never shut up. "The angle of his pole at that last second, he aimed to rattle Kalen's entire jaw without seriously hurting him! His strikes were poised to show respect, strength, and love- It was amazing!"

Trailing a few steps behind Emilia, was her younger brother. A small boy, no more than ten years old, and silent as a rock. He looked around nervously at the people still headed for the food, and stood close to his sister's leg. Emilia didn't notice him, still holding onto Lystra for dear life.

Meanwhile, Kalo and his father had found their place by the lakeside. The two were speaking about something, quietly enough that nobody else could hear. But to catch a glimpse of their faces might've been an unfortunate turn of luck. Kalo's face was empty, almost like he'd been robbed of his energy. His father looked upon him sternly and nodded, but the boy sat there silently, with no response, verbal or physical.
Victor was well prepared, but nothing showed itself quite yet. He made his way further down the street. Further and further, but nothing popped out to attack him. More clattered sounded from the backs of houses, all the way up until he reached the intersection of Yirius. Something new sounded this time, as he was crossing the cobbled road. A hissing laughter, snickering in the distance. It echoed from three directions at once, finally stopping between him and his home at the end of the road. But there was nothing there. Was it a phantom? That seemed unlikely. Ghosts couldn't be real! Then again, with so much magic, and the ability to bring people back from the dead, anything could be possible at this point.

"Hello!" A shrill, yet decrepit voice called out to Victor from behind, and a hand gently patted his right shoulder twice, "What a wondrous coincidence, though coincidence may be overstating my presence, albeit from the perspective of a silly boy, it's less than coincidental, my friendly magic companion!"

If Victor were to turn around, he would bear witness to a man standing slightly taller than himself. The stranger's skin was pale like the moon, and his body was draped in a cloak of black cloth. What stood out through, were his crimson-red eyes, and pointed canines, which defined the sharp contours of his thinly framed face. His hair was light, like silver thread, and tied into a long braid that hung behind his shoulders, with only a few collections of bangs framing his delicate jaw. He smiled ear to ear, a smile of madness, and his eyes were slightly narrowed as he gazed upon Victor with great hope. The man placed the tips of his hands together near the center of his chest and tapped his index fingers against one another, patiently waiting for the boy to react to his startling introduction.
When Jenso moved, purple electricity crackled between the two pawns, and the clone dashed to where he was before, kicking at the air.

"Oh, marvelous!" Ada shrieked, raising her hands. Two more pawns moved forwards, the ones at the furthest edges of the room, at each of Jenso's sides, while one of the pyramid looking statues with a slit in its center spun to face Jenso from behind a pawn.
@Rekaigan Any picture that gives a good idea of what your character looks like would be fine, with written descriptions to correct anything, or add things that it cannot show.

@Empath The onyl culture within the Divers collective is that run by Luke Juuno, the most popular Diver who spearheaded 'divers paradise' a rogue nation of Divers that isn't protected by a Force Field Generator. Other than that, there are no formal ranks/cities/cultues, and Divers act solely dependent on their own desires.

I will be writing up an OOC today.
@Empath Sure. Here's the template for anyone interested in creating something prior to the OOC opening up.

"That's odd," Joshua mumbled. "Without Henry around we won't even be able to track the source." Lillian turned back to Joshua, but kept walking toward Ezekial.

"Henry could track Arcana?"

"Those glasses of his," Joshua started, urging Mikhael forward, "They were enchanted by Maya before we set out. It was solely to avoid things like this mist that Mikhael saw. Whatever was responsible for kidnapping him must have sensed it somehow. Either that, or it had no prejudice in selecting a victim. At any rate..." Joshua patted Mikhael on the pack as the group finally lumped together several yards away from the forest's edge. "Mikhael can see this mist. Maybe he should lead us into the woods."

"We can't leave the horses unattended," Ezekial cut in, "Two of us should stay behind and stand watch while two accompany Mikhael. Until we know what we're up against, we should be careful about how we approach."

"I'll accompany Mikhael," Lucas insisted, stepping to the boy's side, "Though if we cannot see what he sees, I'm afraid we may be at an awful disadvantage while in the woods."
@Guilty Spark God I wish. Despite the abysmal namesake, no-mans-land is rather beautiful. Untouched nature, mostly. I'll probably look into some art though.
@Rekaigan There is actually an entire magical science based around alchemy, so yes!
Think I'ma play a martial artist who uses Ki.

...who also happens to be a horrible drunk and flirt, and will 100% be more trouble than she's worth.

I'm so original, I should get a medal.
