Spoilers ahead if you haven't watched Steven Universe Future.

Thinking of setting up a roleplay based on Steven Universe Future that takes place predominantly at Little Homeschool or nearby. Characters would mostly be Gems adjusting to Era 3. These could be regular Gems getting used to freedom, Gems who used to be corrupted and have been healed, or even some of the former forced fusions that have now been prepared (or any other concept you can think of, really, that would fit in with what we know of canon). There could even be some who aren't so happy about the new order of things and take a more antagonistic role- maybe Gems who used to be high-ranking who have now lost their power, or just don't know what to do with themselves now that they no longer serve the Diamonds. Humans characters who want to interact with Gems and try to help them integrate (or humans who are not so fond of the idea) are also welcome. For the most part, this would be a more day-to-day, Gems-trying-to-adjust-to-normal-life sort of thing, but there could definitely be some fighting and things like that; just probably not on the planet-shattering scale that the main characters of the show usually deal with, since this is supposed to be a bit more behind-the-scenes.

Debating if I would want this to be on the forums or a Discord server for something a bit faster-paced. Also not sure about the style level, whether casual, advanced, or free. Would definitely want there to be character depth and development (that's what it's all about, right?) but I feel like expecting really long posts might bog down a roleplay based on a storytelling style that mostly revolves around fast-paced and in-depth character interaction rather than scene-setting. So, that's open for discussion.

Finally, while this will be all OCs (though it would also be fine if you're interested on expanding on background characters from the show who only make brief appearances- for example, the Lapis Lazuli or some of the Rose Quartzes) you should definitely strive to keep them as much in line with what we know of the canon Gems as possible, including keeping their backstories, roles, appearances, and personality traits in line with what we know of those types of Gems. Considering there are plenty of minerals, rocks, and gemstones that have not been used in the series, though, there should be plenty of room to explore and expand.

Also open for some groups/parts of the story taking place in places besides Little Homeschool or even Earth- even though that will probably be the centerpoint of the roleplay, there can certainly be other subplots and things going on in the world besides just Gem College lol.

Inspired in part by the board game "Mysterium."

A number of people wake up in what appears to be the dining room of some sort of Victorian-style mansion, with no recollection of how they got there. Their only clues are each other, as well as a mysterious note signed by "The Landlord." The only things that the people have in common, as they come to find out through discussion, are three things: a recent near-death experience, a habit of seeing odd things and visions, and having something to hide- though it's possible that some of them may be even more inexplicably linked....

At first, it doesn't seem so bad. They are fed and clothed, without a worry save for boredom. They have company, and each their own bedroom to which to retire at night. Besides, all the doors are locked and cannot be picked or broken, and beyond the windows is nothing but moonlight and shimmering gray mist, though some swear they can see the dark outline of trees in the distance. However, it quickly becomes apparent that there is something more sinister as more notes from the Landlord arrive- some to the entire group, some to individual members- with promises and threats and information that they shouldn't have. Similarly, a shadow stalks the halls at night, causing suffering and nightmares and possibly worse. Finally, the members of the group begin to have visions, hinting at secrets about each other, themselves, and the place around them, and seeming to edge them towards escape.

I don't have the premise entirely thought out yet because I don't want to put a ton of thought into something that no one's gonna be interested in, but the gist of it is that it would be a sort of a mystery/psychological horror type deal where the characters have to escape room-style figure out how to get out of this (clearly somewhat magic) mansion before something bad happens. Of course, they can't fully trust each other either, and most of them are hiding something. Clues come in the form of visions that characters will have, which they will then have to share with each other (or not) to try to figure out how to get out. And of course the setting is Victorian and vaguely Haunted Mansion-ish because ya gotta be extra like that.

Of course, this doesn't have to be the finished product wholesale. Definitely open to alterations and suggestions. But mostly want to see if anyone would be interested in something tense and (hopefully) high drama like this.
@ERodeI think I might have to set up some deadlines. I don't want this RP to die out because of slow posting.

@GingerBoi123 @The Goblin King
Are you guys able to post soon? Are you going to be able to post 2-3 times per week?

Everyone else, feel free to interact with your fellow classmates. 8 players is a lot, and I don't want you to feel like you have to wait for the whole cycle to complete before posting again.

Apologies, I will probably not be able to keep up with this and I would hate to hold y'all back. I apologize. Without going into too much detail, life and my emotional state is generally really volatile and I have a bad habit of starting things when I'm manic so, sorry for the inconvenience :') good luck.
Interested!! I'd prefer a more realistic setting, BUT still interested.

In terms of both characters and environment or just environment? I was kind of thinking of changing the environment anyways. I was considering doing just a regular wolf rp but I kinda like letting people get a bit freestyle with magic lol.
I don't really have a good narrative introduction.... mostly I just really, really love medieval/Shakespearean type fay and I need my fix because, frankly, my fantasy larp ain't doing it for me right now lmao. What I'm thinking is something fairly sandbox; it takes place in a fantasy space roughly analogous to medieval Europe (or perhaps could even by a fictional location somewhere in medieval Europe, or a place where the real world meets the fay realm), where fay, satyr, nymphs, and similar magical creatures live and generally antagonize each other and the humans that venture into the area. Right now, I'm particularly thinking of perhaps a small "family" of fay that take a particular pleasure in confusing and misleading mortals, getting them lost in the forest and into weird adventures, before leading them back to the trail and having them question their sanity. However, there could be a number of other characters in the forest too, if a great number of people are interested.

While it would be very open in what, specifically, you could do and make your characters like, I would like to draw fairly heavily from medieval European folklore. So, you would want to fit your character directly into a specific category of creature, as opposed to an amalgamation of lore, and preferably a medieval rather than contemporary version of it (so fay would be more like something from A Midsummer Night's Dream [thus the title] than Tinkerbell).

I would like people to also be willing to play NPCs/extraneous characters (such as human travelers or villagers living nearby, non-humanoid magical creatures like unicorns or dragons, etc.) to give the fairy characters something to mess with or fight against. We could certainly come up with more in-depth plots from time to time to bring characters together- maybe some sort of heroic quest, or danger to their forest, or whatever- but the main idea is just to have fair folk doing generally mischievous things. It will hopefully be a fairly laid-back roleplay that's easy to jump in and out of when you have time, considering there shouldn't really be one overarching goal or storyline- you can just pop in for a few scenes when you're feeling up to it, and then your fay can sleep in a hollow log until you feel like coming back around, or whatever.

Hype music for this concept:
Yep I'm added it looks like. I like the name.

So, we've got an islandy pirate nation and a possible desert nation, right? And it's gonna be the prince from the island nation that is having to go marry the princess of the desert nation. That'll be interesting... he's gonna absolutely hate the dryness lol. I'll have to go back through the PM to get the details we've established for the islands but I'll start working on it.
Random idea for a roleplay where someone finds and takes a selkie's pelt, hoping for a beautiful wife; instead, they find that the pelt actually belongs to a male selkie, which they didn't realize even existed. Now, they're stuck with their selkie husband instead, and the selkie is not very happy about the arrangement.

This could really go into a lot of eras, and take place in the real world or a fantasy world. It's not necessarily a romance rp, either, since the characters may very well not fall in love; the human character may be a straight male, or even a lesbian, and the selkie is certainly resentful of being roped into this in the first place, so maybe they just end up hating each other, or becoming platonic friends (that are accidentally married). That said, it could end up being a romance, but mostly it's meant to be a little comedic. It was really just a random idea I had of "what if someone takes a selkie pelt wanting a wife but gets unlucky and the selkie is actually male."

Because it's such a versatile concept, I haven't really developed a lot of details for it, so if you're interested we can work on that together. Also, thanks to Disenchantment, I also now have "land selkie" in my head, so the selkie doesn't necessarily have to be a seal, he could really be any sort of animal. The important bit is the pelt-stealing lore that means they're married now.

Feel free to comment or pm me if interested!

I'll make this a little, eh, prettier when I have time.
Oh cool, I actually didn't think I was gonna make it lol.
lmao I had forgotten I had even posted this, I figured it wasn't gonna get any attention.

Yeah, I would definitely still be up for doing this if it got any interest. Somewhat considering dropping the "eternal winter" plot, though... what do you think?
