Current We think we know what we want until we realize we don't actually want what we wanted: I want to drive a rolls royce... but I don't want to be a chauffeur for some rich bloke.

Reminder that the little mermaid Ariel had no idea what a fork is... Meanwhile her father Trition had a golden magical trident that is essentially a giant golden fork...

A scantron exam, but the answer is always C. Just C. Always C. Not a single A, B, D, or E. All answers are C. The statistical improbability is diabolical!

Would an Angel work? Disguised as a Mortal Human to deal with this incursion of demons and whatnot?
I would love to play a holier-than-thou-I-shalt-smite-thee-foul-heathen-tremble-before-my--most-sacred-lazorbeams Character.
Although he would be rather blind to the issue and would rather burn anything in the way of his execution of orders.
Here is my bid for a place in this Rp.

Not a problem.
Going through my files for something I may have already in stock if not, I should be able to create a new character in a few days time.
Although if I work fast enough, time may slow down... So perhaps to save the SPC, I should work at my leisure?

Poor Morgan, abandoned again. Oh well, and I was so looking forward to having to roleplay without use of pronouns...
Hello. May I try a strategist role? Rather than having a direct fighter, how about a planner and thinker?

@The Grey Dust: Me and the other gms are currently debating about your character and whether introducing the concept of Umbria is a possibility or not. We'll let you know as soon as we reach a consensus.

Excellent. That's fine. Working on Developing alternative Chars as well. Perhaps an islander with a penchant for puzzles.
Hello. I am a new roleplayer here, I have been rping on other sites however I stumbled upon this one and this thread in particular.

Dare I ask for suggestions on what to play?
I have a Naga Character from the other place, who all in all would be a rather traditional Naga who clings on to tradition and hails from the Mid-East.
The Naga may work well with the other Naga, although one has embraced the future, while the other clings to the past.
There is also a possibility of me to write up an Angel, or perhaps a Daemon?
Most interesting we have chosen similar elements of play. Dark Space and the Umbra, I wonder if there is a Dark Space for the Umbra, or an Umbra in the Dark Space?

What Sep said. Those pants hanging like that leave you terribly vulnerable in combat. There's a reason that when not going with full body armor, people have always gone for protecting the torso. There's all sorts of organs inside it you would find rather inconvenient to get damaged. Not to mention, the torso is a big target that is easy to hit, no matter what your weapon is. Its only in Hollywood movies that you don't get hit in the torso if its insufficiently protected. If you're going with the appearance being "femme fatale", then having the appearance being androgynous is a contradiction. The character could still be androgynous beneath the clothes, but the definition of "femme fatale" is "an attractive and seductive woman, especially one who will ultimately cause distress to a man who becomes involved with her." As such, looking androgynous is a contradiction. We have some other comments, but not posting them yet as we're gonna discuss that with you Alida/Barks in the PM convo.

its the duality of the appearance. Not quite a contradiction at all. The question is in the perception of others, rather than of its creator. My goal for the character is to be androgynous, however another character may perceive the same character as a femme fatale which is also part of the goal of the design is to make such a suggestion yet leave nothing more than it. Similarly with respect for the need for armor, I hardly doubt Morgan would be in for open combat, too many variables to contend with. Regardless I suppose we can make any altercations required, please feel free to ask away.

Yeah I can imagine that. Great to see that you're open for suggestions :)Speaking of which, I have a few other suggestions for you. How about the flow of time in Umbra works differently from that in Azukhar? That way, we could say that Morgan is... Let's say 25 years old (your call of course), speaking in Umbraïn time and appearance, but dissappeared from Azkhar as a child around 250 years ago. Basically, it would mean that she hasn't aged as much as she would have on Azukhar. That way she (yep, I'm just sticking with the 'she' even though Morgan is genderless, just for the sake of being practical xD) wouldn't know a thing about what's going on in the world, have no family members or connections on Azukhar and she won't have an idea where she came from or if that place even still exists. Moreover, spending 250 years in another realm would make her completely alienated to Azukhar and would make it very likely for her to become twisted in a way that she's barely human any longer. I suppose she could have gotten stuck in Umbra due to a previous wielder of the key. Figuring out how on Azukhar that happened is up to you (if you're going with this idea lol).Another option is that as soon as she entered Umbra for the first time, she lost her memory, or she was too young to remember anything about her time on Azukhar. As for Morgan's clothing, I think tights and a top or simply a closed cloak will help a lot to get rid of the undergarment feeling, without having to lose much of the sex-appeal (I suppose you made the picture yourself? If not, I can totally understand that even small changes will be rather hard to do.)All of these are suggestions, so feel free to ignore or incorporate them :)

very good suggestions. Yes, as you mentioned there actually is an aspect of time dilation in Umbra. Although I do not believe the rate to be 10:1, albeit one does have to ask what is the concept of an hour in world of shadows? It would be a viable option to have Morgan enter in as a child and progressively age in the Umbra, although the Umbra tends to make all things which reside in it permanent. And the issue of losing the Relic to Open the Umbra in the Umbra itself is akin to having lost a pair of keys inside the car... I suppose it could work and Morgan is the child of the original user of the relic died in the Umbra to escape the infighting years ago? Which would make Morgan physically around 25-28 but have merely survival instincts and basic communication skills. Thank you greatly for the ideas.

The cloak is actually a full body which goes all the way around to remove the undergarment feel of things (although I had to leave the cloak open to allow arms and legs and other things to be demonstrated, in as such the edges of the inner cloak are actually being pulled back, while the outer cape is being flung open on the stage left side.) And as for concerns of temperature and the elements, Morgan could simply reside in the Umbra should a blizzard set in, while living in the Umbra is difficult due to the nature of the realm as it seeks to keep you (the trees for example, are sentient beings which tend to move their ancient branches to entangle you and roots to trip you before ensnaring you between their woody malice and let you become an addition to the Fey Forest) it is far more forgiving with respect to the lack of weather, Please let not the image act as so much an interpretation but rather a guideline. The Real descriptor is in the text below which does describe the corset as actually a piece of armor I believe. I'll work on fitting Morgan with a more definitive gender ambiguous regalia in a moment.

I'd like to add that while your concept is really interesting, especially the part about Umbra (but well, I'm a sucker for lore xD), I find it a bit disturbing that it appears to me that the relic has been forged three years ago. The secret of creating relics has been lost to time, so to me it would seem better if Morgan was 1. Human and 2. Locked in Umbra for a very, very long period of time, she was granted her relic which had been lost there as well, taught the ways of assassination but not anything else and pushed out into Azukhar to make some kills. If this is already what you meant to say, then I'm sorry for summarising her history in such a crude way. However, I really have to agree with Ellri that she will have to be human. Perhaps a human with little emotion and social experience, molded to fit the relic (much like the Vocators are), but still... Deep dowm human.

Ah very well. A few edits to be made. This was actually a character from another RP from another time. And well done on using the first gender pronouns!
In a sense, Morgan is human, or rather was however (the whole idea would be for Morgan to learn how to become a human once more, as Morgan does show emotions and an inborn fanatical attachment to a person), in as such perhaps making Morgan a more human being would be fine, although I'd have to tweak the character concept a tad. Or perhaps go with the person who did create Morgan in lieu of using Morgan. As for the cloak and garb, well Morgan was put up to be a seductive femme-fatale (of unknown gender, hence finding the right outfit is difficult) however I suppose we can go with a more darkened aspect of things, creating a costume now becomes the issue. Perhaps something more...
