The highest, most decisive experience is to be alone with one's own self. You must be alone to find out what supports you, when you find that you can not support yourself.

The core of an individual is the mystery of life, which dies when it is 'grasped'. That is also why symbols want to keep their secrets.

Bio

The Harbinger of Ferocity

Agent of the Wild, Aspect of the Ferine
Nature, red in tooth and claw.

"There is, indeed, no single quality of the cat that man could not emulate to his advantage."
- Carl Van Vechten

I am, at my core, a personification and manifestation of those things whose blood and hearts run red with the ferocity of the animal world. It is this which convicts and controls my works, my writing, my being; the force and guidance in which I gain wisdom from. It is what inspires me as a creator and weaver of words, the very thing I admire as an author.

My leanings, savage as they are, are of the feline sort as there exists no greater lineage of beasts whom can be drawn from. No others captivate and motivate my talent and skill as the greatest of cats do.

I am curious how my rolls will be fated this time around. Previously they have been in my favor, but there are days past where it would been better not to roll at all.
I had wondered where you had disappeared to, @Carantathraiel. And yes, people find numerous ways to make themselves sick, even in this day and age.
You would be considered wealthy by a druid's starting wealth standards. Starting gold of 2d4 x 10gp came out to a pitiful 30gp. Thankfully there's not much need for it.
@Ermine, you would be correct with that from my perspective.
If we do start at third level as @Ermine was suggesting, I can work more easily with a Barbarian 1/Fighter 2 or Paladin 3 to add another melee fighter with added staying power to the front, @Ms Ravenwinter, @JBRam2002. Just so we have some means to split a bit of the damage rather than focus it all into one target.
You needn't worry about how I interpreted that comment, @Ermine. I tend toward perceiving people as best I can at their intent, so no offense was taken or really even presented.

A lighter matter though, I do recall that early Unearthed Arcana, although I will need review it again. I remember being disappointed in it, but it was early in their development cycle when they were feeling out class and race expansion.

The reason I consider not so much a cleric as thus far there are not too many options with their domain devotions as say there were in Third Edition. Likewise, I am not committed to a paladin, as I have played two weretiger paladins as is, or an all spellcasting party as a druid. Part of me wishes to play a barbarian to frontline or a fighter, but magic is still hard to pass up on.

I hesitate at the moment mainly for the fact that I want to be sure my character makes up a useful element of the party not already well covered. Given we do seem light on melee combatants, and for the aforementioned reasons, I do consider the Stone sorcerer with refluffing. In short, just trying to fill a role and enjoy myself as well while remaining useful and liberating for others in my decision.
Unless I hear otherwise, I will probably have a character built by this evening. Either another paladin or a druid.
@JBRam2002, that essentially was and is my approach in the other game I find myself in, but we are doing milestone experience. We are still first level for reference. I have played many archetypes like that before, such as a d20 Modern Cleric of Sekhmet who prestige classed into Ordained Champion and Prestige Paladin. As much as I enjoy it, I never get to go far with them.

The only thing that makes Oath of the Ancients more difficult to handle is a Boon of Spell Resistance. Charisma to saving throws, half spell damage on a fail or quarter on a pass, and advantage on saving throws, all with the ability to add Bless on it? I would almost cease sending spellcasters after a character like that; it is just not bound to work.

Stone sorcerer I am attempting to conjure up a way to do thematically in a manner that feels right. In truth I considered mixing it with the Hexblade warlock for the simple fact I could use Charisma for virtually anything. Sadly, first level makes that a big complex.

At the moment I am holding off dedicating to anything, but I keep being resold on paladins almost every game this edition, even though I have been advocating for them since I started. And by that I mean Green Knights and Champions of the Ferine.
I have considered refluffing and repurposing the Stone Sorcery archetype for the sorcerer, @JBRam2002. While it is not my go to, it might work just as well if someone is set to playing a druid, given it has a frontline focus and the ability to ward damage off from its allies. The primary reason I was looking to the druid was for its Wild Shape, but that is mostly because I enjoy its myriad of feline company it keeps. As for Intelligence based spellcasting, the line never had much draw for me, primarily because I am partial to force of self and insight based characters, Charisma and Wisdom respectively.

The only reason I did not mention my desire to play a paladin is because I have already played two in recent times, to which I can confirm that your statement is entirely accurate. The first few levels, up to about fifth I would say, are not particularly notable, but the class itself is not only strong but rewarding.
Bard, druid, cleric, warlock... all we would be missing is a traditional arcane spellcasting class as the sorcerer or wizard. Either way, this might be the best time, with a beginner's game, to go heavy with some of the more seasoned members playing spellcasters. Again, my opinion, but I can only continue to advocate giving the newer players the opportunity to enjoy exploring the game with less consequence.
