Final Fantasy: Stranger in Paradise is the funniest shit I've ever seen while also not being a bad game. Just crack open some cold ones with the boys, blare Limp Bizket, and Kill Chaos.

I'll go out on a limb here and say that you can make it up, after all, there's never been something like Ripple Magic in the anime, except for Palm Magic. I think it's fine as long as it isn't completely broken.

Gen's chain magic is his primary source of attacking, as well as his really only long range magic, the chains he produces are made out of his magical energy, and an individual chain can extend up to 7 meters, and while each chain is rather thin, they are each capable of supporting up to a metric ton; though Gen himself can't, he could still use the chains to drag a heavy object reliably.
'Blunt' Chain: Gen's primary form of attacking, a simple chain with a large, weighted ball at the end of it that can punch through armor if given enough time to wind it up. He can retract the chain to use the ball more like a short range melee weapon, though he'd prefer to keep a distance at all times.
'Claw' Chain: Gen's method of mobility, a chain head with a large 4-pronged collapsable claw.
'Elastic' Chain: An oddity among Gen's chains in that it doesn't actually have a head at all, rather the chain becomes more rope-like and lighter than any of his other chains, though it does become much more flexible. While the flexibility does make it easier for an enemy to destroy, the chain becomes almost whip like, and can even be used to launch things if used like a bow string between two tether points.
'Chain Weave': Gen can weave his chains into most any shape he can desire, though this is obviously limited to being able to turn them into weapons and armor as long as he holds them. He can even weave his chains together, looping them through the loops to strengthen them, though it does make the chain slower and more difficult to manuever.
Ripple Magic.
Gen's Ripple magic is a variation of Palm Magic, in the sense that he is able to focus his magic energy onto any single point on his person, however when combined with his chain magic, he can greatly extend the range and flexibility of it, though he lacks experience with using Ripple Magic.
'Ripple Breathing' More of a meditation technique than anything else, it allows Gen to multiply his current magical energy to replenish it quicker than a normal person could while standing still and remaining calm. He's heard of masters who are able to channel this state in combat, and is trying to find a way to perfect it.
'Warden's Ripple Lock': Possibly the most intricate of Gen's specialties, Ripple Lock lets him snare an enemy with his chains, usually multiple to maximize the effects, then channel his magic through the chains, causing it to continually strike the captive. Rarely uses this due to the set-up required and the stress it puts on his body.
Other Misc. Magics Known: He has slight knowledge of Transformation, and he uses Re-Equip to store his books.
Personality: Kind, and very analytical, though he does have a tendency to try to deceive people he’s fighting against. He isn’t afraid to run away from a fight, and he’s always thinking of new ways to adapt his chains to fight more efficiently, though he does prefer to fight dirty.
History: Gendarme was born into an upper class family, and has come from a long line of generals in the Fioran military that have served the kingdom for generations, but he was not born alone. He was born the twin of his sister, Charlotte, and they like most siblings spent their childhood years together, though it was plain to any to see that their parents favored Gen, mostly because they wanted an heir to the family name, someone who could pass down the name of Belvast for the future generation. Despite being favored, Gen made sure to spend as much time as he could with his sister, to the point that they rarely ever argued, and were inseperable for the most part. Upon reaching the age of 16, Gen began his training in the family's arts of Chain Magic, at the age of 17 he was sent to train in the Fioran military for two years. Unbeknownst to him, his parents had engaged Charlotte into an arranged marriage to a well-off family, seeing no other way out, she fled their home and seemingly vanished from the face of the world.They refrained from informing Gen, afraid that distractions would take his mind off of training, though he did learn rather quickly after completing his training. Furious that they would try to do something like this to their own flesh and blood, as well as having the nerve not to tell him, he too fled their home, and has since taken up residence in Magnolia.
