Mankind in its present state has been around for a quarter of a million years, yet only the last 4,000 have been of any significance.

So, what did we do for nearly 250,000 years? We huddled in caves and around small fires, fearful of the things that we didn't understand. It was more than explaining why the sun came up, it was the mystery of enormous birds with heads of men and rocks that came to life. So we called them 'gods' and 'demons', begged them to spare us, and prayed for salvation.

In time, their numbers dwindled and ours rose. The world began to make more sense when there were fewer things to fear, yet the unexplained can never truly go away, as if the universe demands the absurd and impossible.

Mankind must not go back to hiding in fear. No one else will protect us, and we must stand up for ourselves.
While the rest of mankind dwells in the light, we must stand in the darkness to fight it, contain it, and shield it from the eyes of the public, so that others may live in a sane and normal world.

We secure. We contain. We protect.

Welcome to one of the Foundation's only Forward Operating Bases, FOB Sidewinder. It is one of the largest of its kind, deep in the heart of Mongolia. While many SCP teams deploy from containment facilities and the like, this base's sole purpose is to keep operations moving. We do not contain often and if we do, not for long. Our jurisdiction is all of Asia. We have a science department and all purpose task force, consisting of 100 of some of our best agents and scientists. As I said, we do not contain long and containment security is at a minimum, even with Keter level Anomalies. I expect you to operate at your peak, on and off the field. And yes, even if you're a researcher you will be going on the field. I look forward to working with you and good luck.

This roleplay will be about the many stories of those who work for the foundation. Our first chapter will be about the members of Forward Operating Base Sidewinder and their missions throughout Asia. I will be acting as Commander and will be creating the SCPs, if you have an idea for a mission or SCP, feel free to PM me. I will not put any rules because this is Advanced and you should know well enough how to behave. I will set up a CS when we get enough people for the OOC. You will be able to play as a scientist or field agent, scientists have many roles in the SCP Foundation and especially at FOB Sidewinder that I will outline in the OOC, but if you don't feel like waiting, you can always check out the links above.

@Morose Never heard of Doom!?

It was one of the original shooter games and recently had a fantastic reboot, definitely recommend it for some gory shooter fun. Basically what I said, you're a space marine on mars and demons have invaded and you hate demons and take perverse pleasure in murdering them so you murder all of them as efficiently and as violently as you can.

Its a good time. Don't play Doom 3 though.

Hm, tentative interest. I would like to know more about how the paranormal/supernatural things play into the story. Obviously many religious people think this is the work of their Gods, but apparently vampires and werewolves exist? Is this gonna be a Doom like thing where Hell is gonna open up and we all have to fight demons and stuff to keep the world from ending?

Because that would be dope.

Blood Debt (Medieval/Fantasy, Rangers)

Started Cross Country today. Those guys are beasts, it's gonna take me a few weeks to get on their level. We (More like I) did about 25-30 minutes of running, I did 3-4 miles. Might be stretching those numbers a bit, I can't remember.

@Joegreenbeen On a more serious note, things happen. Seeing that it's a just after middle school and just before high school relationship I would be surprised if it lasted more than 5 minutes. When they inevitably break apart, tell her how you feel. And if they don't or if it doesn't happen for a while, just keep doing you baby! There are plenty of chicks out there.
