Jimbo that's not right. Humans are a social creature, there's not a single one who can truly survive on their own. Even those who seem to be able can only do so because they learned from others.

The eyes are removed from the body for this process unless you're highly against that. It's actually good training as well, since you'll be needing to use your EE to keep homeostasis within your eye-socket if you're kept awake. Otherwise, if you're unconscious, we can simply leave it in and insert it like you're thinking.

The surgery part is. After that she'll have to infuse it with her natural EE to prevent it from blocking her sight, but yes, it's that simple.
