Posted, because I was alerted by a burp, of all things :P
Oh, and I should probably mention a new mechanic I added:
Your characters will all be highlighted in different colors. Each color represents the situation your character is in. Whether your character can perceive this or not is up to you.
Blue - Blue means that the situation is relatively calm with no immediate 'dangers' of any sort.
Yellow - things are kind of awkward or slightly stressed, but the situation is not salvageable.
Orange - at this rate confrontation/something bad is SURE to happen; the most you can do is make sure whatever happens doesn't happen to YOU.
Red - Code red; you're all in trouble.
Pink - Confession? Sudden crush!? Basically meant to represent situations where a character is predominantly in a romantic situation. This color can quickly go to Red, Orange or White.
Purple - Imminent discovery inbound, provided you take the proper course of action!
Green - The formation of new contacts, friends or acquaintances. Shows up when you've got a chance to form a relationship with an important NPC.
White - The situation is chaotic and unpredictable. Your character may receive inexplicably good luck one second, then get hit by a lightning bolt the next. Nothing is for sure.
What do you guys think? Should I implement this new system permanently or just trash the idea?
The group that came earlier joined everyone else in gawking at the Spirit Committee. Of course, they recognized <<Aila>> and her special brand of eye-catching uh . . . something, but it was never really the kind of thing you could get used to. Of course, when they were inevitably told off by a teacher, most of the students laughed good-naturally. The older ones nodded in approval - strange though it might be, it still got people to attend the party. Though the different factions of that school used that same party to gather new members, it was still imperative that they get the new kids to attend - the Spirit Committee was right after all: It was better they become familiar with the less normal parts of the school in a place where it could be controlled, rather than in some random place where fatal accidents could happen.
The group that had initially approached <<Poppy>> and <<Belle>> split up; three conversed with <<Aila>> and her Committee while the remaining two stayed with former aforementioned girls.
The oldest girl couldn't hold back a chuckle. <<Poppy's>> awkwardness was a bit adorkable to watch - kind of like watching a pug chase it's tail. "About the party, she's right. It's a great way for all the newcomers to be introduced, and don't worry, there's no bullying," added the senior in consideration for <<Poppy>>.
"As if anyone would attempt a bull-session with Winston or Louise around," muttered her companion loud enough for them to hear.
With <<Aila>>, the boy that preformed the treatment on <<Poppy>> explained himself. "It's no problem. Mine's not one of the more frightening abilities anyway - if anything, I'd say it's rather attractive to be around," he said cheerfully. "Besides I think the girl somehow didn't notice."
Louise group stopped as they neared <<Timothy>> and the others. The cause was because Louise herself stopped; apparently, she had gotten to a point of frustration with the Rubik's cube she was toying where she could no longer focus on anything else, including walking. After a few seconds of frustrated twisting and glaring, she gave up and shouted: "Hey, any of you guys have any tips for fixing this thing!?"
Her question was met with stiff silence. No one wanted to answer her, for fear of giving the wrong answer. Of course, Louise was beginning to look annoyed with the lack of answer, so it was becoming increasingly clear that they were doomed either way. The group looked at each other nervously, desperately wishing someone would sacrifice themselves for the whole.
"Oi, you, girl over there," she said, looking at <<Thisa>> with a frown, "you look smart, you mind helping me here? These guys are useless," she added while jotting a thumb at the crowd behind her, who were much relieved at no longer having to offer up a human sacrifice to the tiny goddess of darkness.
Meanwhile, coming in from the other direction was a group of four students. They stopped in their tracks when they saw Louise and scooted closer to <<Alice & Nathan>>, positioning themselves strategically behind them. "What's going on here?" one of them whispered to the two. The oldest one of them silently pulled out a cellphone and began recording with it, an expectant look on his face.
Adeen looked around in surprise as the fire around her disappeared. So far, Lao was the only other person she'd seen do that. The other person was herself, of course. Adeen ducked under his arm and stared at him expectantly. She frowned when the man gave his conditions though. She had no problem just following what he asked for - he was teaching her how to make pretty fire after all - but that last one . . .
She closed her eyes as they walked and her face scrunched up in frustration as she kept thinking. "Uueh . . . I wanna learn how to make that pretty fire but . . . Mama told me that I should never call anyone Master," she said. "Mama said since imma pwincess - I mean, since I'm a princess - I shouldn't call anyone Master. But that fire is sooooo pretty!" As Adeen was having this little internal debate, gout's of flame sparked into life around her. "Mmn . . . it's so hard to decide! Ah whatever! I'll keep thinking later!"
With that, she gave up. Thinking was never her strong suit anyway. Just as she was about to ask Lao more questions, something else caught her eye: Olivier s (Fake) Black Flame. Once again, there were sparkles in her eyes.
"Woah~ more pwetty flames!" in her excitement, she didn't even bother correcting her lisp. "How are you all making those pretty fiahs~?! I only know how to make them have shapes and stuff."
To demonstrate, Adeen spread her arms like a bird taking flight, and four copies of Adeen made of fire appeared, two per side. The real Adeen, after doing so, giggled and started playing around with her conjured clones, her attention diverted to her clones, who started creating copies of themselves as well.
In about ten seconds there were several flaming Adeens who were throwing fire balls at each other, running into each other and causing small explosions, and in general just setting things on fire wherever they stepped.
The real Adeen, who was sweating slightly because of excess playing, trotted up to Lao and the others. "Uh, wait, I forgot to ask something! Why did we go into the jungwle? I heard somethin' bout a test and stuff. Is the test going to be in the Academy? I didn't study or anything!"
In the background, her clones began playing around everywhere. That was sure to attract attention.
Karen might also find David to be an amusing toy~ :D After all, he sounds like the kind of person that wouldn't react well to being teased and poked xD
And Karen doesn't proselytize - she uses much more devious methods to evangelize >:D
Here's a character sheet for yah~! Anyway, people ask me why am I oh-so amazing. The simple answer to that is: I just am!
Name: Karen Violet Camillus Antonius
Appearance: Karen is a towhead, a kind of platinum blond that looks silver when exposed to light. She has amber eyes, primarily gold in color. Her hair is long and wavy and reaches just above her hip. She's pale and weighs about 40kg. She's 147 cm tall.
Her three sizes are:
79 / 55 / 78
Age: 15.7 Year: 6th
House: Gryffindor
Classes taken: - Charms - Defense Against the Dark Arts - Herbology - Arithmancy - Astronomy - Alchemy - Potions - Transfiguration
Short bio:
Karen's mother was a well traveled witch, who was also a known duelist. Because of her abrasive attitude, she got into plenty of fights. In one of these fights she was cursed heavily using ancient Dark Magic and no magic could break it. While searching desperately for a cure, she bumped into Kyle Antonius, who was not a deacon at the time. The man realizing that she was distressed but not knowing the reason, offered her a prayer and a free meal. The next day the curse had disappeared.
The two met with each other constantly after that, both their interests in each other piqued. What then started as an awkward friendship with much arguments turned into love, and they were eventually married.
When Karen was born, a similar miracle occurred; at the exact day of her birth, many people found that they were cured from sickness, even terminal patients were cured. Claudia linked it to magic, Kyle's father called it a miracle, while Kyle said it was magic that came from a miracle.
As Karen grew, her fascination with the suffering and helping of others became evident, much to her fathers delight. Much to her mothers dismay, however, she also inherited her fathers wonderful personality. Karen developed an interest in healing magic, however she is extremely unconventional with the way she does things, which makes people worry.
Personality:
Karen has an angelic personality and is forgiving to the point that she believes her only purpose in life is to help others, even if she is hurt in the process. She never blames the person who has hurt her and blames the act on devils who caused the person to commit whatever sin. Whenever she is at fault, she apologizes to God rather than the person, although she doesn't mean to be rude - she's just weird that way.
However, in contrast to her angelic persona, she also loves teasing people and exploiting others’ emotional vulnerability. Upon discovery of an individual’s weak spot, she enjoys bringing it out to light in front of all the other characters. While this antagonizes many people and causes much outrage and humiliation, she remains calm. Caren however will not go too far with this, so long as she isn't forced to. Most of the time she uses it for harmless teasing. Basically, Karen likes to troll people.
Karen insists on acting on her standards of grace and etiquette in every situation. She does not panic or overreact and always maintains a pristine and untouched persona. Even in the face of people who consider her enemies or show her open hostility, she will not so much as frown, in fact, she would still be very polite with them. Of course, this same grace is applied to her teasing.
She is a devout Catholic, as strange as it may seem, and often quotes from scriptures or phrases from the Bible mostly for her own convenience, but when she wants to, she is actually quite wise in going about their use.
Despite her calm and unaffected persona, she is cunning, perceptive, efficient and a surprisingly ruthless person for someone who was placed into Gryffindor. In fact, many are surprised she is in the house at all - it seems she would make a much better Slytherin.
She is somewhat of a mad-scientist, as she is prone to experimenting with different spell, potions, etc.
Her personality greatly resembles her fathers.
Wand: Fig Tree, slightly elastic, 15 inches; Simurgh feather core. If the wand is burned for whatever reason, it immediately summons the Simurgh. Patronus: An Axolotl Hobbies: Studying; flowers and flower arranging, history, theology, philosophy, sewing, praying, healing, languages. Teasing people.
Pets: A Crowned Solitary Eagle; it's illegal to own, doubly so because it's endangered, but her mothers a witch so . . . magic?
Personal possessions: A Bible, Rosary, golden cross, and a red enchanted scarf; it's enchanted to bind men specifically. So long as it's wrapped around them, they will be unable to move unless they're attacked by something. The scarf was a gift from her mother that Karen uses with great effect.
Relationships: A good number of people in Hogwarts are terrified of her, and this includes some of the teachers.
Is somehow friends with the current Rector Major of the Salesians, whom she discusses philosphy and magic with occasional.
NPCs:
Kyle John Antonius - Karen's father; deacon, skeptic, wise-man, exceptional troll.
Claudia Lily Camillus Antonius - Karen's mother; witch, adventurer, duelist, prone to snark, and a good wife - to Kyle anyway.
The Simurgh - An extremely rare and powerful magical bird with that can purify lands and waters, bless people with good fortune, inspire wisdom and raise heroes. It's healing powers are so strong that so long as there is even a hint of life left in a person, they will be healed/
