That moment when someone makes a terrible OC with a cringe self-centered plot and you have no idea how to react because you want them to indulge your own shit.

Intention: I'm going to be upfront and say I am looking to write as both Light and Misa and I am seeking an L to be in a battle of wits against my Light but also in a romantic relationship with my Misa. It is a tall order, I understand. I can play other side roles as needed. If Misa is not your cup of tea, I am willing to play Naomi Misora or maybe even Sayu or Wedy against L. If you'd like to play say an OC against Light, I am open for that too.

About Myself: The Netflix movie was terrible so I gave the anime another rewatch as it had been many years since I saw it and now of course I am craving it now. I am doing an OC based plot around Death Note so I'd like to try canons with this. I try to post once or twice a week, sometimes more. So I am looking for a partner who is capable of exercising patience and not fretting if it's been a few days since a post. That said, I do like to keep up side OOC conversation so we're both still on the same page in regards to plot and also any hang ups due to offline responsibilities. I am totally okay with more mature scenes and themes however I do not work towards them nor go out of my way to incorporate scenes that may not be timed well. I like development ass relationships have their ups and downs and take time to grow at their own pace. When it does come to writing, expect paragraphs. Generally 3-5 is what I give and I would expect the same range in return. Death Note is a very thoughtful show so I am hoping we can stick to its tone and detail rich scheme while making it and the roles, our own.

About the RP: The plots below are very minimal and require further development from my partner. I want us to have a fun game of cat and mouse but I also want to develop the more human side of L. I think L is someone who deserves a happy ending, unlike Light who I cannot wait to see fall. That said, I do look forward to playing a psychopath so I do hope we can have a good back and forth between him and L. We do not need to follow the anime's structure, the plots I have tend to veer off at a certain point and most tend to occur prior to Light and Misa's arrest/confinement. I intend to play Misa more self-aware and more clever. I want to keep her flirty nature but I want to give her more of a backbone and more strength. I think some probably roll their eyes at her but I do believe there is more to her than meets the eye so I'd like to evolve her personality a bit. Any input or thoughts you or I have on the roles or direction, we should discuss in PM so we're both comfortable with our intentions and ideas. This is ours to have fun with.

The Plots: Below you'll find a selection of idea snippets. If none of these catch your eye, please feel free to PM me so we can make something up together. I do think these are good jumping off points to allow us either a gentle more slice of life tone, or something more dramatic and dark, depending on our tastes. If you're interested, please do PM me with whichever thought caught your eye and tell me about what you enjoyed from the anime and characters. And these are not listed in any particular order. Thank you for your time.

Thought A: Set between episodes 14 (Friend) and 15 (Wager) Light decides to send Misa off to befriend L. At this point, L and the other suspect Misa is the Second Kira and decide to have L take her so-called bait. L is intrigued as to how she could be the Second Kira and eventually the two begin to form a genuine bond, prompting Misa to refuse to tell Light L's real name.

Thought B: Set prior to Misa being gifted the Death Note, likely near the beginning of the series, if not prior to its entirety. Misa is beginning her career as a model and meets L at an autograph signing who is actually a genuine fan of hers. They hit it off and become friends. Soon after, Misa is attacked at night be a fan, prompting Gelus to save her life, unknowing extending Misa's lifespan. When Rem gives her the Death Note, she shows it to L and they decide to see whether it is real or not. L is adamant about not using it, of course, but Misa (like Light) sees it as a way to help people. When L discovers she has used it to kill the one killed her parents, he is hurt and angry and relinquishes ownership to Misa. With his memory erased, they part ways as no longer friends until Light catches her eye.

Thought C: Likely set just prior to the anime, again some flexibility required on this plot like a few others. Due to no new cases popping up, L decides to take up a teaching position at To-Oh University. Meanwhile Misa has landed a role in a new film where she's an undercover detective who is also in school, so she asks to take a few classes at To-Oh to get more into character. The school allows this and she and L end up connecting as Kira continues to kill criminals. L starts to work more with the police and decides to bring in Misa who seems to be good ally. He then decides she could be used to get closer to his main suspect, Light Yagami, likely around episode 6 (Unraveling) or 7 (Overcast).

Thought D: This can take place during or after episode 14 (Friend) as Misa is upset by Light's lack of real affection for her, she decides to stop fooling herself. Misa turns to L's team and tells them everything about the Death Note but it still isn't enough to hold up in court. They need more evidence to convict Light. Light's father is now torn between being bound to family or to the law as both sides are now feeling pressure to make the final move.

Thought E: Likely set during or after episode 14 (Friend). Due to their shared love to sweet things, L and Misa encounter one another at a local cafe. There is only one chocolate sundae left and they both want it so logically they decide to share it. They enjoy themselves as L is happy to get away from the task force while Misa is a bit rundown after so many photoshoots and appearances. When Light hears what Misa did, he asks for L's name but Misa is unable to recall it.

Thought F: Set during episode 25 (Silence). Rem is too smart for Light and does not believe his statement that in order to save Misa, she'll have to kill L and Watari so she does not. Instead things continue to progress without their deaths occurring.

Thought G: Set during either episode 24 (Revival) or 25 (Silence). Fearful of his demise, L fakes his own death in order to protect himself and his guardian, Watari. They then go into hiding. Before they go they do destroy all video and photographic evidence as to prevent Misa or anyone with the Shinigami Eyes to kill them. Some time passes and Misa crosses paths with L. By now she has given up on her future with Light, seeing how violent and selfish he truly was. She still has her Note but does not use it often so that no one suspects anything. Misa, is also hiding from Light, while she's legally changed her name so it wouldn't match her other one, she still looks over her shoulder. Even though she herself could write his name in her Note, she is hesitant. Upon rekindling her friendship with L, she wonders if maybe she should turn on Light once and for all.

Thought H: Set somewhere in the beginning but before she decides to become the Second Kira and pine after Light. Being a real fan of hers, L enters a content and wins a date with Misa. She take him back to her place and it is there where he stumbles upon her Death Note. He does not touch it as she requests but she does spin a wild yarn about Shinigami and the power to kill anyone. She assumes he won't believe her but he does.

Thought I: Rem drops the Death Note in a cafe but as opposed to just Misa finding it, L and Misa both find it and use it to combat Kira who is playing Got.

Thought J: A more of a mega rewind here. Misa ends up growing up in same orphanage as L, Near and Mello. Misa admires L greatly and grows up pining for him. While L is a master of deduction, Misa's own genius lies in more creative and fun puzzles. She is soon brought in to aid L in his task force to bring down Kira. Soon L suggests using Misa to get closer to Light.

Thought K: Set during either episode 13 (Confession) or 14 (Friend). In a funny twist of fate, Light actually suffers an accident and dies, prompting Misa to make his dream a reality in his place. She assumes Kira so now she and L are playing their own game of cat and mouse. It's clear something is wrong. L is grieving the loss of his friend but also his number one suspect. And while Misa is assumed to be the Second Kira and now the one and only, she goes into hiding, preventing the police from arresting her.

Thought L: L ends up being adopted by Misa's parents and they grow up together before their parents are killed, prompting them to be taken in by Watari.

Thought M: Being a fan of L's detective work, Misa offers up herself to them in order to catch Kira. In this situation, Misa has the Note but not the Shinigami Eyes and her parents are alive, not allowing her to have any ties to Kira or his deadly actions.

Thought N: Set during episode 25 (Silence) Rem has had enough of Light and kills him instead of Watari and L. Rem writes it so that Light confesses and shoots himself. L is distraught and so is Misa. Another possibility is that Rem somehow blames L and Misa vows revenge.

Thought O: Set anytime between episodes 18 (Ally) and 20 (Makeshift) as Misa wants to make Light jealous, she flirts with L. Much to her surprise, L uses this to his advantage and flirts right back, hoping to rile Light up some or cause one of them to let some piece of valuable information slip.

Thought P: Set during episode 17 (Execution) Light's father ends up killing both his son and himself, letting Misa flee. She does just that and starts a new life in either northern Japan or London. Some time passes and L and her cross paths. Still unable to remember anything, she and L are able to start over. L has moved on to solve other cases, even though the one with Kira still bothers him greatly as there was no true closure. A mysterious letter arrives in Misa's mailbox as it's from her past self, giving her instructions on where to find the buried Death Note. Now she is unsure what to do as she is now bonding with L and doesn't wish to think she could have been the Second Kira all along.
Hey guys, I'm around, still in this! -laughs- I wanna start fleshing out mine, let's see where all our heads are (as @LittleBird has nicely done). I should be back to fairly normal activity over the next few days as I readjust.
No worries, something short is probably what we need for now anyway!
That's okay! No rush at all.
@GoodLuckTuck

Awww thanks. :)
Wasn't much I could post except reply to the bartender but I suspect there will be other posts with shorter lengths. I'm off to bed, night. -waves-
As the man worked on her pour, she didn't give him much attention, her mind still focused on her parents and Tommy. Regret seemed to hang in the air much like the smoke around her. When prompted, she absent-mindedly handed over her credit stick and didn't bother much with a tip. She wasn't made of money after all. And why tip a guy for something so ordinary. If he had any sense of flair or service, she may have given him a dollar but didn't. Her mind was far away from the worry of money or the risk of offending someone, no matter how dangerous they looked. Hisano took the offered drink and downed it, feeling it burn and hit her rather empty stomach. She looked to the man when his expression changed at the mention of Talesin.

Looking toward the brute by the stairs, she looked back to the bartender.

"I am." Hisano said in a matter-of-fact tone.

While the man wasn't aggressive, neither was Hisano. She wasn't a fighter but her patience was wearing very thin, very quickly.

"A friend of Tommy's." Hisano said, not sure what to divulge. "He..." Did she want to get into the gritty details? Should she? She had no idea who to trust. All she had to go on was someone named Talesin. "Uhhh he ran into some trouble. He wanted us to meet Talesin here." She left it at that, not saying anything else for the time being. She kept both her handguns hidden, not getting the feeling she'd need to use them but she was still keeping her guard raised to be safe. Of course she didn't really feel safe. She had no idea what connection this mysterious person had to Tommy but she had to figure it out. If Talesin was in trouble too, she had to let them know and then go into hiding herself.
Yuki

At the idea of Kagura loving Kyo sincerely, he withheld the opinion that to him, love on some small level had to be conditional, even a little. If Kyo didn't feel the same way, Kagura was only torturing her soul, wanting someone who she would never have. He knew what unrequited love felt like and he was doing his best to move on and accept the relationship with Tohru as it was, not as he wished it could be. Otherwise that love would turn to bitterness and resentment, acting like a poison. Still, he wished Kagura would be able to find a way to stay close to Kyo. Even if he didn't care much for the cat, Kyo did need someone looking out for him and Kagura had been with him the longest. Yuki hadn't a clue why Kyo didn't see what a great girl Kagura was, and how much she believed in him.

"I don't know if the sadness ever goes away but perhaps if you find someone else, someone who shares the same love you do then perhaps there is no more sadness. And in finding happiness with another, maybe they make the sadness brought by other, fade away." It was probably an idealistic way of looking at things but Yuki could only speculate and he knew it wasn't much to Kagura. Even though he and Kagura weren't close, he hated to see Kyo bring her such grief and pain, even if Kyo didn't mean it, he had to let Kagura move on, if possible. He shook her head at her when she thanked him. He didn't feel he had done her much good. "You don't need to do anything for me to be nice to you." He assured her, not needing a reason to care for those around him.

"While I don't feel I was much help, I'm glad you are feeling better." He told her lightly as he and Kagura began to head back. "What about grabbing a drink at the cafe?" He proposed. "To celebrate the birth of a grand new gardening club." He said as he gestured to the small cafe that was run by the students in the culinary program. The cafe offered more of a formal dining setting compared to the casualness of the university's cafeteria. Still, both places took their ID Card which had money on it that could be refilled. It was fairly advanced and a cool concept. Yuki wouldn't mind grabbing a small bite to eat as well, since it was getting close to dinner. He didn't think Kagura had any other plans but he had to assume she did have other friends around campus to spend time with.

Kagura was pretty friendly girl when she didn't allow her emotions to get the better of her. Yuki wasn't much for making friends, even those of the same sex. He didn't have much of an interest in those he was sure he'd end up losing contact with. While many girls tried to woo him, he was used to brushing aside their advances as nicely as possible. It wasn't his feelings for Tohru that held him back, but he hadn't found someone to really click with yet. Since he was beginning to take classes that had to do with his major, accounting, he knew there was a good chance he'd find other likeminded people. Math was a strong suit of his and it seemed like a safe, quiet profession. It wasn't a passion but it seemed like a practical enough choice.

Kagura

At the question of dancing or baking, she could see Momiji doing well with either. "Dancing could be a little risky since you have to be pretty close to someone. I think you'd do well with baking. You like sweets. Plus I'd be happy to taste test anything you make!" She gave her two cents but knew whichever one he picked, he'd do rather well. She had to wonder what subject he'd end up majoring in. Tohru had so many interests that she hadn't decided yet but she had this year to figure it out. She wanted to help people, she knew that much. She knew Yuki had considering going into medicine but she recalled him switching to something to do with math.

She had to assume he wanted a safe, nondescript career where he wouldn't accidentally come in contact with the opposite sex. It didn't seem fair to pick a career based on how the curse might affect your life but she couldn't help Yuki find his path, it had to be his own to make. She'd support him no matter what. And the same went for Momiji and Kagura as well. Tohru wasn't sure if she wanted to be a nurse or a teacher or a vet or psychologist. There was so much she felt she could do and it was at times of uncertainty that she wished she had her mother to consult. She could talk to Hana or Uo or even the other Sohmas but she wanted to know more about her mother and what she thought. Her mother never got to see her graduate high school. And she wouldn't see her graduate college or get married.

Though she had faith her mother was looking down below and that her mother's spirit was by her side, she wished she could hold her mother and tell her so much. Even to just hear her mother laugh and to feel her touch, would make Tohru feel so so happy. When Momiji spoke up, she turned, noticing how close he was bending over her shoulder. Her expression softened, "I don't know what will happen...but if we want to see each other, I'm sure we will." She tried to assure him. But the future was risky to predict or make promises in the name of. "I'm sure we'll always be friends. You're one of the most important people in my life." She told him cheerfully.

Seeing that her box was empty, she grabbed another one nearby and looked back to Momiji. She didn't want him to worry about the future. To her it seemed quite far away. But since he was a year younger than her, she supposed he got lonely with the prospect of being on his own when she and Yuki graduated. It happened in high school but she had visited him once or twice when she had a day off with no classes. "I have a feeling once your classmates meet you tomorrow, you'll make plenty of friends before the day is done." She pointed out, certain many girls would be interested in the blond just as they were with Yuki. Each dorm had a phone in the living room that could call outside of the school but to also other dorm rooms, she knew she'd have to order the pizza soon, but thankfully it never took long to arrive as it had lots of experience delivering to the college kids.
I wanted to do something in a fantasy setting where the day/night cycles were ever changing. So there's no '24 hours' in a day. Sometimes daylight would last 3 hours and then night would last for 20 hours followed by day lasting 13 hours. And so on. But on top of that I wanted the characters to have two different personalities and skills that change come day and night. It sounds a bit 'much' but it sounded cool to me. So a group of people would band together for a typical quest but come night, their darker selves would come out, to work against their ultimate goal (or something).

The princess fell asleep soon after eating and before she could count the endless sheep jumping behind closed eyes, she was being roused so they could continue their journey. Their quest. Rahea rubbed the sleep from her eyes and watched her mother and father carefully carry the large leather pouch into the carriage. Inside was a deep blue dragon egg that Rahea had spent most of her life keeping an eye on. And the other part of her life was spent watching over the other egg which was black. Never before had she seen a dragon. Sure there were sketches that had survived the test of time in books and loose scrolls but those were unable to do the real thing any justice.

Sometimes she would dream of herself riding on a dragon and running along it's large spine, it somehow being a large as an entire city. Rahea trailed behind her parents. Her mother had light brown hair that was coiled into a tight long braid that rested along her back. And her father had dark hair, almost akin to coal, and his face had a short beard that accented his strong jawline. As she climbed into the open carriage, she settled beside her mother, Theresa while the egg was held on her father's lap. The two women faced the king, who had the view of the road ahead of them. Once everyone was packed and ready, the party took off down the road, leaving a gentle trail of dust in their wake.

The ride was bumpy and Rahea found herself glancing to the egg countless times, finding herself less interested in the world around her. As the cherry trees faded from memory, the view opened up to reveal endless waves of green hills and valleys. Her faithful retainer, Cumin, held up the read with another skilled knight, while three took the front of the carriage. While one might find the protection excessive, the king and queen didn't wish to take any risks and leave themselves open to an attack. The eggs were no secret to the world and for now, the meeting point had yet to be breached.

By the time the group neared Korva's Keep, the wind was blowing wildly and the sun was towering high in the sky. They had made their way towards the coast and had found themselves in front of a long bridge by the bay. The keep was very much off any beaten path and it remained unpenetrated by enemies. "The water is so beautiful. It's breathtaking." Rahea said as she held up a hand to stop the carriage. She wished to walk the length of the bridge herself. Cumin was hesitant to leave his master but went ahead with the others. As her parents pressed onward, Rahea stood alone on the stone bridge and looked out at the bay. All she wished to do was dive in but she didn't know how to swim.

The biggest body of water she had ever been in was a simple low level pond.

The rush of the waterfalls ahead were almost calling out to her. Rahea ran a hand through her long hair and started to walk along. She had on a gracefully flowing white linen dress and leather ankle boots that matched her auburn hair. Making it halfway along the keep's only point of direct entry and exit, she paused once more, not because she needed to rest, but because she heard something approaching. Or rather, several horses. Turning, she could make out a few figures coming closer and she felt her heart hitch slightly as she feared the worst but then remembered they were expecting company.

She waited and would happily greet them while her parents would prepare the keep as it was otherwise unoccupied when not in use, which meant a good deal of cleaning and cooking. Both the men and elves would exchange the eggs at dusk, then rest at Korva's Keep and leave the following day. It was a long trip for a short exchange but it was tradition.
