So... To start this next Weird RP that I'm afraid to pitch, let me say I have seen 1 episode of this show. I am not a fan of the show, but I can see it's appeal.

So, my idea for an RP is based on a dream I had. My brother who was 7 or 8 at the time loved MLP:FiM and I would let him watch it on my phone when I was back from college, and he would tell me about it, with me not paying attention. Well, he wanted me to watch an episode with him so I sat down and watched a Pegasus babysit three pony children and have a staring contest with a Cockatrice (I love mythical monsters so this actually did catch my interest). I was confused, and only knew at the time 4 character names. Pinkie Pie, Spike, Rainbow Dash, and FlutterShy. About 5 months after this, I had an incredibly vivid dream where I was transported to their world as a green unicorn with brown hair and a book and glasses as the butt stamp (which I later learned is called a cutie mark). I freaked out, was helped by the main cast, went on an adventure, and they got me through a portal that brought me back to reality with me waking up late for class. I kept having pony based thoughts and dreams after that because I was genuinely confused why my subconscious would do this. I asked a friend if this makes me a brony, and he was like, "Yeah! Welcome aboard." I told him about the dream, every detail, and he told me that my dream was extremely accurate. He suggested that I embrace pony stuff, and I said I will do 1 thing. He told me all about the Pony World "Equestria" and so I made a story based on Journey to the West using the Unicorn I was as an OC, and made up some pony characters and McGuffins. After typing it all down, I stopped having the dreams and thoughts, thanked my friend and moved on. But, recently I had a dream that I was being called to help them... I'm worried again.

TL:DR A human is brought to Equestria as a Pony and has no idea how things work in that world, so he panics, and ends up being helped by other ponies to bring him back to his world. ADVENTURE!

Not so much weird or afraid to pitch, but rather a thought that popped into my head that I want to write down for the sake of archival because I know I'd never get around to it. No other thread that really suits that purpose.

The gist of it is taking X fantasy setting and X group of naïve wannabe heroes that want to take down X Dark lord, master of the dark powers. And hey, they train and go through hardships and become pretty decent adventurers with a deep sense of justice. Having good intentions, however, doesn't always lead to god results. Throughout their journey the adventurers think they're doing good things for the world, even despite some sacrifices that need to be made. It starts with small stuff, like killing a giant predator bird near a village that was threatening the safety. Then they notice eggs in their nest. The first thing that comes to mind is to crush those eggs or kill any hatchlings there so no more of these birds could grow and threaten the town.

Continue on into larger issues that are a bit more world shaking, like removing some kind of crystal that gives life to a forest because they'd need it's power to defeat the dark lord, but they damn the local population (elves or something) in doing so. Or retrieving artifacts from ancient tombs, but having to tear the place down to do it and making ancient technology lost forever. By the time they'd reach the dark lord, said lord is almost depressed to see this band of heroes. Still, they fight. The heroes win, naturally, but it turns out that the power of darkness wasn't only inside the lord. The adventurers became so strong because their own heart became blackened in the journey because of all the things they needed to do to get here in the first place, and unwillingly they become the new dark lords with the entire world hating them. The dark lord they defeated laments his own fate, as he'd gone through the same thing and the cycle continues.

TLDR; Die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain, even though you thought you were still being a hero.

I have always had the concept for a pre-human setting based in a world of magic and mythic fantasy where the main characters are beasts of various forms with many of the attributes people later granted to them in their primitive societies. Within this ancient story, much of what makes the characters unique is their personifications and extraordinary ability, contesting themselves against a wild, dangerous world where nothing is tamed or understood. More daringly for them, there exists tremendous powers of darkness that are dawning in the time to come, leading to a path that explains just how and why people give them these qualities, but in the current era there's no longer magic; more or less, a fantasy history setting that's primeval and tribal, if not at times grand, but leading to a time where nothing is really quite so supernatural or legendary anymore... which then becomes reality.

Another vein of this, which I have tried to some extent, was a post apocalypse setting in the same idea that after mankind fell away - still present but forever broken and little more than scavengers attempting to avoid death - the beasts of the earth inherited the world and the powers thereafter. Great, unnatural powers are wielded by some of these creatures, some of whom are vengeful that they were so destroyed for so long by men, whereas others still live to serve and preserve the crumbling pieces of the past. It makes the modern ancient and puts the focus on the characters, where they live in this dark yet twisted version of reality that's been born, really reborn, out of what we do know and off into fantasy rather than truth. There's grey skeletons of city ruins, populated by places of vibrant green life and pooling waters, overgrown here and there, but others are absolutely ash, nothing but twisted concrete, steel and ambiances of suffering.

Out of both, the idea is to simply play exceptional animals in a less lighthearted, more serious and somber note.

Ponies of Darkness - Equestria the Requiem. It's exactly what it sounds like. A World of Darkness game set in the MLP universe. If you spin it just the right direction each major clan and covenant is represented by one of the main six including the caitiff.

Not so smutty-wutty, but currently, my new play-by-post role play hobby is making extraordinarily and unnecessary niche game ideas that no one but me will ever want to play and then proceeding to jovially shove them into my One v One Interest Thread in vain hopes that someone as or more mundane and absurd as me will come plodding along and shoot me an interested PM or summin'. So, yah know, if anyone is interested --> badly timed eyebrow waggles are included.

I wanted to do something in a fantasy setting where the day/night cycles were ever changing. So there's no '24 hours' in a day. Sometimes daylight would last 3 hours and then night would last for 20 hours followed by day lasting 13 hours. And so on. But on top of that I wanted the characters to have two different personalities and skills that change come day and night. It sounds a bit 'much' but it sounded cool to me. So a group of people would band together for a typical quest but come night, their darker selves would come out, to work against their ultimate goal (or something).

Everyone creates their character then I the GM fuck with it and they are stuck playing that character, assuming they stay.

By fuck with I may mean:
Spontaneous gender change
Spontaneous height, eye/hair color, weight change
Spontaneous skin color change
Spontaneous change in their super power
Spontaneous sexual orientation change
Maybe all of the above, maybe multiple things above but not all, or maybe things I hadn't thought of already

I've been craving a Super Mario RPG- based roleplay, but I do not have the faintest idea how to start it nor do I know of the plot. I'm not certain if I want canon characters either. More of just the overall "feel." Weird characters and weird enemies.

Edit:

I also want to pitch a roleplay based on the Gatorade pilot cartoon called "Blokheds."

Essentially, people fight through the use of rapping. Rap verses power up the user's attacks. As a person said, "It's like lazers with rapping. It's like Full Metal Alchemist with rap opera."

A far cry from the smut plots being expected here a while back but still a very 18+ one. My one original medieval fantasy prompt I'm low key terrified to advertise because it pretty rapidly goes off the deep end of dark and violent to the point I look at what I wrote snd have to think "holy shit, did I just do that?" There's a particular character pairing I never list despite the fact it could work because it's a large step above all the others on the sadism scale. I am still unsure if I am mentally prepared to go that far.

I wouldn't say this is weird but I've been working on the concept of a story about a mixture between For Honor, and the vocoloid song 'Servant of Evil'. A kingdom is sacked by a group of barbarians, who take heavy inspiration from mythical vikings, from the north. In return the kingdom that was sacked retaliates. A great war springs up while other nations stay neutral they do keep an eye on the war. In this war great heroes appear as older warriors die off. Two brothers in specific rise up one of them killing the enemy chieftain forcing the barbarians to yield after years of war. The king instates new members of his kingdom's honor guard but dies off not too soon after leaving the king's daughter in charge as his son also died with him. The daughter is a sweet little girl but the peasants soon began to despise her. Because unknown to her the high chancellor has begun to slowly turn the empire into a corrupted form of itself and feeds off the peasants for all they have. The kingdom's citizens revolt and the military is split.

In a roleplay setting we'd play aspiring knights who go onto become kings guard and then have to choose between the rebellion, and her royal majesty.

There'd maybe be a prophecy about the great future of the princess, and other foreign countries assisting the rebels to make things more interesting.

Ideally this would be advanced but i'm not confident in describing what I'm saying to people, or writing too much just to let it die off instantly.

The conflict would be: Do you side with the rightly outraged citizens of the empire? Extorted, and backed into a corner by its former benevolent rulers? Or do you side with the princess they want to depose who truly wants to be a good queen but is simply being puppeted by people far older than her. Is it right to put her head on a pike for her council's choices when she has no real control just yet? Brother against brother and all that.

There is a creature. His name is Zedar. He watches from a place, looking for openings into it. He takes the people who open holes into the place he watches from. He pulls them in.

Once, there were five holes.

I have a very old character creation concept that I often return to inspired by the thought of Planeswalkers in Magic: The Gathering--that they had limits. They have hard limits that they can't exceed, limits imposed by the multiverse they all have in common. Something fundamentally connects all of the worlds that they've ever walked. Not just their spark, not just the nature of the worlds their visit... something more fundamental.

Every player makes a character that contacts that fundamental thing. It is the realm from which all energy comes and returns. It can exceed their limits, expand their minds... and it can kill them.

Zedar is one such being. He looks for others with this power and takes them somewhere safe. It is a long and difficult process. And this is the first time he will have multiple wards to guide.

-Any passion can open someone's mind to The Void. An Artist, an Archmage, a Hedonist, a Prophet, a Lover, a Scientist.
-Any being can open its mind to The Void. A high school student in rural Iceland, a sentient fungi colony in a primordial soup, a space elephant, a sith lord, Shub-Niggurath, an artificial intelligence.
-Anyone from any reality or time can open their mind to The Void. Earth, Earthsea, Toril, Dominaria, Arrakus, Pern, Koprulu. Whatever. Whenever.
-No one can fight. If they had powers, they can't use them. If they had gear, it didn't come with them. Everyone is naked and barely able to hold it together, because where they are, the only thing that matters first is remembering who they are.

The story would revolve around every character learning about one another, learning who they are and how they connected to The Void. Zedar would be participant too, but is the only one who knows where this seminal experience will take everyone. It would be a cerebral and reflective work about a group of different persons coming into the first throes of godhood.

Not so much afraid to pitch as much as 'This randomly popped into my head and I gotta share this with the world before it's lost for good'

Danganronpa and YGO crossover. Lifepoints are your literal life- get down to 0 and you die by some kinda poison bracelet or something. You can't recover life in between duels, but surrendering a duel doesn't drop your life to 0, if the other accepts your surrender that is. If someone dies by the duel, a class trial is held to determine who dueled the other to death.

I have no idea how it would work- heck, IF it would work. I just felt like sharing my random brain fart.

@SierraI appreciate that you like the idea. I've been mulling over that, and another story in my head as just separate things I could make up but the concept requires things like maps, and world building that would take a lot of time and effort that I don't think would work out well on my end. I do have a somewhat fleshed out non-rp version of the story if you'd be interested in knowing how it'd go but I don't see myself able to fully make a roleplay on that scale as I'd have to micromanage the rebellion, and the empire.
