There's a panhandler who hangs out on the street corner by our dispensary every afternoon with a sign that just says "Green 4 Green?" and tbh, I respect my boy's confidence.

Name: Taylor
Pronouns: They/them
Age: Mid 20s
Relationship: Married (happily, I might add)
Time Zone: Arizona (we hate daylight savings, so it's MST year-round)
Writing History: I've been on a number of different roleplaying websites for over a decade and a half
Hobbies: Writing, fitness, driving/exploring, hiking, camping, traveling, tabletop games, anything NEW (I love trying things I've never done before)
Roleplayer Profile

Format: 1x1s only. Maybe I'll try a group RP again someday, but I've never had one last longer than a few months
Posting Speed: Depending on my schedule, I can usually post at least once per week
Favorite Genres: Modern, Historical, Romance, Action/Adventure, Horror/Dark, Fantasy, Slice of Life, Dystopian, can be convinced to write some Sci-Fi
Hard 'no's: Fandoms. Sorry, but I can't maintain interest in characters/worlds I didn't build with my partner
Template: Public threads or PMs. I prefer to keep all my RPs in one place, so no emails or G-docs or the like
Rating: Comfortable with 18+ content, but it's not a necessity and I prefer not to center a plot around explicit scenes
Level: Advanced. Will consistently provide around 400-700 words per post, but can occasionally leap to 2000+
Character preference: One main character, but large side casts are greatly enjoyed. Because I write long posts, I prefer not to double
Gender preference: Male. You'll be hard pressed to convince me to play a female that isn't a background character. It's just not my forte
Romantic Relationships: MxF or MxM (currently prefer MxM)
Character Images: Faceclaims or detailed descriptions only. I envision the characters like real people in my mind, so I can't take anime seriously
OOC chat: Yes please! I'm a total extrovert who loves to get to know the amazing minds behind my partners' characters

Crow cursed under his breath when he heard Penelope call out orders for a search. He had barely slipped under the wagon before his absence had been noticed, and he hadn’t made any headway in plotting his escape. Crouching in the shadows as a set of boots walked past him, his eyes flicked from one side of the carriage to the other. Time was running out, but it wasn’t over yet. If he thought fast, he could still make it out before one of the knights grew clever enough to take a look underneath the wagon. He’d come this far already. No sense in letting the opportunity for freedom slip through his fingers.

Carefully watching the feet of Abraxas and Penelope—William had gone off somewhere else—Crow angled himself to make a run for it on the northwest side of the wagon. He held still until the two knights were further away and weren’t looking in his direction and then darted out from beneath the cart, sprinting into the woods. Though he moved quickly, his footsteps were quiet with practiced precision from the years he’d spent dodging enemies before his arrest. The muscle memory paid off this time as he managed to duck behind a cluster of thick bushes without being seen.

Risking a quick glance back at the road, he could see the two knights still searching for him on the south side of the cart. He smirked to himself. Although he hadn’t been able to fully plan it out, his escape was going perfectly so far. Now all he had to do was figure out the rest of the way back to the outer villages without getting caught. Easy.

The thief was making his way into the deeper parts of the woods, weaving between the trees to leave a confusing trail in case one of the knights had managed to follow him, when it suddenly occurred to him that he had no idea where he was. He was unfamiliar with this part of the kingdom, and even though he knew the forests of his homeland like the back of his hand, he had trouble navigating heavily wooded areas when he hadn’t walked through them before. Having used a different route to get to and from the citadel in the past, he didn’t know where he was going now.

“We were travelling north towards the border, and now I’m headed northwest…” Crow muttered, trying to form a mental map of the area. He stopped and looked around again. Even if he knew where he was in perspective with the castle, he still didn’t know if there were any towns in the area where he could take refuge. It also didn’t help that he couldn’t read real maps very easily. Trying to conjure one up in his head was nearly impossible, and there weren’t even any landmarks that he could use to direct himself. All the trees looked the same to him.

He crossed his arms over his chest and let out a frustrated huff. It was starting to look like he should have waited until they were closer to the outer villages before he made his escape. At least then he would have known how to get back to the parts of the kingdom he was familiar with. Instead, he was roughing it through unknown terrain, trying to figure out the best place to find shelter after losing touch with the world for an entire year in prison. It wasn’t the smartest snap decision he had ever made.

“What are you doing out here?”

Crow jumped at the abrupt sound of a voice and spun around to find an angry William pointing a sword at his chest. Impulsively, he shot his hands into the air and took a step back from the blade to keep from getting cut. His gaze dropped to the ground. In his concern about finding a path of escape, he hadn’t even realized that he was standing on the side of an old, overgrown road. The knight must have spotted him when he was on his way back to join the others.

Looking back up, he met William’s narrowed eyes with a lopsided smile, “I don’t suppose you would believe me if I told you I was sightseeing?”

“If the king hadn’t ordered me against it, I would run you through right now,” William growled, pressing the point of his sword against Crow’s chest once more. The metal felt icy through the tattered fabric. “Get back to the wagon.” He shoved the thief along the road and grabbed the reins of his waiting horse, tugging the animal along as they walked while his captive glowered at the foliage, frustrated with his own sloppy escape attempt.

William didn’t take his eyes off of Crow until he was inside the back of the wagon again. Once he was sitting down again, the knight shot him one more threatening glare, “The next time you pull a stunt like that, I won’t be so merciful.” With that, he spun around to face Penelope, extending his wrath to her. “Watch the thief more carefully next time. We can’t let him slip away like that again,” he barked. Hitching his horse to the front of the wagon again, he climbed back on while Abraxas did the same with his. “Let’s keep going. We’re behind schedule, and we need to reach the next village before sundown.”
You're welcome! :3

And yeah, I can understand that. Maybe she could have a sense of humor, but hides it to seem more intimidating? XD I'm interested to see what you come up with
I can see how you might think that, but you don't have to completely change her :) I feel like part of the fun in an RP is the character development, and since it's still so early in the story you have plenty of wiggle room to build on her personality.

I actually use a little trick to build the characters in my stories, if you're interested in hearing it XD I've only shared this with one other person, so feel special~

When making my characters, I choose one positive trait and one negative trait and build the skeleton around them. It helps me make a foundation to develop them into more complex or even totally different personas. For example: here are Crow's main traits.

Positive: Carefree nature (i.e: fairly calm temperament and optimistic attitude)
Negative: Pride/Arrogance (i.e: bragging and condescending/sarcastic remarks)

The combination makes him seem extremely childish even though he's really quite clever, which makes him fun to write about XD Anyway, I use these basic concepts as the foundation for his personality and build on them as I go, adding or removing smaller traits depending on the direction of the story and his reactions to different situations, but keeping the underlying base for his character. I don't know if my method works for everyone, but it can definitely be helpful if you want to add some fun character development into the story :)
Sure thing! I just didn't want to leave you hanging XD I know how annoying it is when people disappear from a RP. It happens to me a lot, so I didn't want to do it to you, too
Just wanted to pop in really quick and say I'm still here XD
I've had a little bit of writer's block for this RP for some reason. I still love the story and characters, so I don't want to quit. I just have to get over this hill so we can move forward with the plot. I'll try to get a reply up sometime in the next few days, if I can. So sorry for the wait!
Serix couldn’t believe it. He had only spent a matter of minutes with Cassie, and now Ryan wanted to take her away from him. He held onto Cassie defiantly when Ryan stepped into the cell. Monty came through behind him, so when Serix started to get up from the floor to stop Ryan from grabbing his mate, the human blocked him from doing so, grabbing his shoulders and pinning him against the wall. He could only watch helplessly as Ryan threw Cassie over his shoulder and turned to take her away. He wrestled against Monty’s grip, managing to break free just long enough to reach for Cassie’s outstretched hand. In the next instant, he let out a gasp of pain as Ryan kicked him hard in the ribs. He caught himself before he fell, but the blow gave Ryan and Monty enough time to leave the cell and lock it behind them. As he caught his breath, the humans moved Cassie to the cell next to his. Ryan made a point of telling her that she would thank him later, as if he was doing something to help her, and then turned to leave them alone again.

Once the three males had gone, Cassie moved to the side of her cell and peered through the bars at him, “I should have known he would do something like this.” She reached between the metal rods, but they were far enough away that she couldn’t even reach the edge of his cell. “Did he hurt you?”

“I’ll be fine,” Serix murmured. He sat back on his heels and lifted his shirt, gingerly touching the spot where Ryan’s boot had made contact to inspecting the damage. His skin was already faintly discolored, and he winced when the injury sent another wave of pain through his side. It would definitely leave a bruise tomorrow. He let his shirt fall back down and moved to sit by the side bars of his cell, reaching across the gap to hold Cassie’s hand. Even though they were close enough to touch each other, the barrier between them was uncomfortably tangible. He wanted nothing more than to hold her in his arms after the way Ryan had treated her just a few minutes ago.

“I’m sorry,” Serix said quietly, lowering his gaze to the floor. “I keep causing you so many problems here. You shouldn’t be locked up with me; you should be up there with your own people.” He withdrew his hand back into his own cell, dropping it into his lap. Even though it was Cassie’s choice to join him in the hold, and it was Hunter who had landed them there in the first place, he still felt guilty. She didn’t have to be part of everything that was happening to him. He felt like he was just dragging her around while he ran into one trouble after another. He went on without looking up, “You don’t have to stay here for my sake, Cassie. I wouldn’t blame you if you want to go back to our room. It’s much nicer than anything down here. There aren’t even any beds.” He sighed and finally glanced up to meet her eyes. “The next time a guard comes through you should ask to be let out. Ryan probably gave them instructions to do it if you say so.”
Serix stumbled when Monty shoved him into the cell with Cassie. The human slammed the door behind him and headed out with Jake, grumbling something under his breath. Serix stared after the two for a moment before sitting down in the far corner. He closed his eyes. The Pilot had done a thorough job of ruining his standing with the humans. They even thought that his relationship with Cassie was an act. They thought he was a traitorous spy, just faking his love for his mate to make them trust him. In a fit of rage, he slammed his fist into the wall beside him. Why couldn’t they just listen to him for once? He hated how little his word meant to these humans; how they completely disregarded everything he said; how one single incident was enough to turn them all against him. He hit the wall again.

Serix jumped when he felt a pressure against his side. He opened his eyes to see that Cassie had curled up against him. He leaned into her, trying to take comfort in her presence, but he continued to tremble with pent-up anger. They both sat in silence for a few minutes before Cassie spoke in a hushed tone, “Serix... what are we going to do? They don’t believe us. How can we possibly prove that you didn’t lead the pilot here?”

“I don’t know,” Serix said sharply. Realizing his mistake, he let out his breath and raked his fingers through his hair. He knew he shouldn’t take his anger out on Cassie. It wasn’t her fault. “I don’t know,” he said again in a quieter voice, lapsing back into silence. He had always known Hunter would cause trouble, but he never expected the human to do something like this. Monty had been right, too: Ryan wouldn’t let him stay locked up forever. Sooner or later, he was going to make a decision about what to do with him. Serix didn’t have much time to convince the human that he was innocent.

He wrapped his arms around Cassie and pulled her close, pressing his lips to hers in a passionate kiss. The anger that roiled inside of him was redirected towards his love for his mate, and in that moment, he was glad that she came to join him in the hold. He probably would have continued to bloody his hands on the cell wall if he had been down here by himself. He brought a hand up to the back of her neck and sighed, holding her to himself as they kissed.

After a few more moments, Serix heard the sound of footsteps in the tunnel. He reluctantly pulled away from Cassie and glanced at the entryway. He was still frustrated, but thankfully most of his sudden rage had died away and his trembling had stopped. He could face the humans clearheadedly now.

Ryan emerged from the tunnel with Monty and Jake, looking furious. When he spotted Serix and Cassie in their cell, his cheeks washed with color. He approached the two and glared through the bars, “Cassie, you can’t stay in here with that thing. It’s dangerous, and I can’t have you getting hurt. Look,” he held up his hands before she could say anything. “If you’re adamant about staying down here with it, then fine. I just can’t let you share a cell with that alien. If it did anything to you, I couldn’t live with myself.” He turned to Jake, “Get the key.” He looked back at Cassie when Jake went to follow the order. “I’m getting you out of there.”
It's been about two weeks since your last post. I'm assuming life has you busy at the moment? You can let me know if you lost interest though. If you did, I'd be willing to start up another RP with you :)
Oh, no, stalkers are welcome, @Summer!
Teehee, that sounded wrong.
Anyway, I think we'll have more stalkers than actual RPers. But it's cool, as long as everyone has a chance to read and learn. And feel free to nitpick at my grammar, at least.

Okay, sounds good XD I'll be lurking in the background, then
On a separate note: It seems as though we have similar taste in RPs, so in the future if you ever feel the urge to start up a historical 1x1, feel free to shoot me a PM :) I think it could be fun!

EDIT: I feel like you can appreciate this Monty Python sketch XD

Ahem, I may be following this along once it gets started up. Being currently in four advanced 1x1s, I don't have time to join this, but I'm definitely interested in reading! XD

Hope you don't mind my occasional appearances, heheh
