Animal ChangesThe most noticeable change in Alexis's appearance was the growth of an extremely hard segmented shell on his back and the top of his arms and fingers. The shell is colored a bright green at his neck, slowly changing to an equally vibrant blue as it goes down his back. On his arms the shell starts at the same green on his shoulders, though it quickly fades into a vivid scarlet, remaining that way down his whole arm.
Sitting on Alexis's head is a pair of flangellated antennae, colored the same scarlet as his arms. These are used for detecting scents and chemicals and scents, vibrations, and even tastes. These antennae do work in air, though are much more effective in water.
Upon closer inspection one would notice Alexis's eyes have changed as well, two additional pupils forming above and below both of his existing ones, giving him three pupils in a vertical line in each eye, the center one developing a mid band across it, and new photoreceptors formed. The surface of his eyes crystallized into a compound eye structure. Along with this Alexis's eyes became easy to move independently, increasing his field of vision. These changes in his eyes allow Alexis to see UV light waves and polarised light waves in addition to the regular visible spectrum, giving him extraordinary sight.
Alexis's musculature was strengthened, most noticeably in his arms, as he now has a punch strength over 500,000 psi (344,738 newtons square centimeter) compared to his previous strength around 200 psi. Not only is he able to turn carbon into synthetic diamonds, Alexis is capable of throwing his punches in only 14 nanoseconds.
His toes have developed a strong blue webbing between them to aid in swimming, but Alexis's true speed in the water comes from the growth of organs called siphons under his shell, which propel water at high speed out of the segments to create thrust. To top it all off, Alexis has developed a set of gills on his neck to filter oxygen from water.
