White Wolf Returns: A Homecoming for World of Darkness
For over three decades, White Wolf has stood at the bleeding edge of supernatural and horror storytelling. From Vampire: The Masquerade to Werewolf: The Apocalypse and Mage: The Ascension, our games helped shape generations of roleplayers, writers, and dreamers who sought meaning in the shadows.
Today, we are proud to announce that World of Darkness will once again be guided under the name that birthed it: White Wolf.
This isnโt just a name change. Itโs a return to our rootsโand a commitment to the future. A future where mature horror stories are told with care. Where community and collaboration are central. Where fans, creators, and licensees can find clarity, support, and inspiration under a banner they trust.
Simultaneously, we are announcing today that White Wolf will now be a publisher, as well as a licensor, of World of Darkness games. This means that we will continue to work with our network of licensing partners who bring you all the great video games, tabletop roleplaying games, card games, and more -- but we will also develop some new games internally, and publish them.
The first game that we will publish as White Wolf is Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 as co-publisher with Paradox Interactive. We will announce additional games from White Wolf as the publisher later this year.
As White Wolf, we will: โข Reinforce our legacy as pioneers of narrative-driven horror and emotional roleplay across all our products. โข Provide clear leadership across all World of Darkness media and products. โข Support creators with improved tools, transparency, and canon guidance. โข Maintain rigorous standards for inclusivity, sensitivity, and collaboration in storytelling.
The night belongs to us all. Welcome home, Vamily.
Um yea my college called strike and I'm trying to get my shit in order incase my profs do walk, I'm waiting on @Naril but my own sheet will be delayed here boys. Apologies, god I love unions :3
Based off a roleplay hosted by Canoness, Union Strike Force takes place within the universe of Half-Life Two. Following the stories of military conscripts and Metropolitan officers engaged in a specialized unit dedicated to hunting rebel cells outside the confines of the various cities dotting the wastelands of the earth. Focusing on action orientated and passive roleplay, players will be able to engage in character development, free-form choices and moral and ethical dilemma. Taking the perspective of the Universal Union, the military force that now rules earth the newly formed USF draws from former military soldiers to the common loyalist. The Universal Union promises riches and status within the autocratic society of today, will you join up?
Based on a 'what if' scenario, this is solely based on the resistance playing an antagonist role in the world of Half-Life rather then being the 'mighty heroes' we typically see them as. Believe me, the Combine are not good either. At this point in time, the resistance has but all turned into a force of in-fighting, savagery, and chaos as they let their wrath out on their own. The populace in the middle of the chaos, this being the citizens have no choice but to pick a lesser of two evils. The so called resistance began a terror campaign on Union ground, laying waste to those who dared defied their order and edict. While these terrorists are fended off by the Overwatch Transhuman Arm, a new force was created to kill the disease from the inside. A strike force composed of former military members that survived under the blessing of the Union, individuals of the best backgrounds were selected and forcefully conscripted into this team. Promises of good reward and pay come into mind along with the risk of death. Led by a Union intelligence official, it is generally believed to be that this would spell out the end of this chaos that swallowed the resistance. A few successful operations up North had utterly ruined supply lines and caused the end of numerous resistance cells stationed in Germany and Sweden. Duty calls now to the Oceanic areas of the world. It is rumored to be that Union research facilities were taken over by pirates, and that these facilities hold valuable information to the Union. There is limited time in your first campaign ever, join the USF in their journey to vanquish the rebellion once and for all on this Earth. The rebellion that had betrayed it's own people for greed.
To understand the true nature of the remnants of the rebellion, one must look into history. Multiple attempts were made to usurp the new masters of the Earth, and at first it went relatively well. That was, until the Combine ferried more reinforcements to Earth and smashed the rebellion with an iron fist. Even then, a senseless struggle to wrest back the Earth from the Combine ensued, and after a great defeat shortly after the reinforcements had arrived, the resistance went into hiding. This would be the last the public had ever heard of a so called revolution. Now, remnants of the so called rebellion cowered away in their holes, only coming out to terrorize any local population under the guise of a 'new rebellion' being constructed. This was the exact same reason for the plunder of resources from innocents. Yet in the two years that they had done this, no rebellion ever came. It was generally agreed upon by the remaining population on Earth that it was over.
Apparently the rules of these forums mean nothing. People act like a-holes. Disengagment isn't respected. Privacy is maintained. Harassment is considered fair play.ย
