@Grey
Don't forget we still need our second resident mad man.

Oh gooooooood. I don't think poor Okita-san would do well with a crazy person :(
@Turboshitter I read a fanfic once where all the Zero pairs were reshuffled. Ryuunosuke summoned Hundred Faces and became hypercompetent.

Who did Waver summon? Diarmuid? Also a lot of the summonings in zero were done with catalysts lol. Would be kinda hard to switch 'em all around like that.
@Turboshitter actually I could totally make assassin's master too, thinking about it.

have it be like a member of one of the demon hunting organization houses, or a thief who cribbed a spellbook and an old flag to sell on ebay.

probably not that last one. more probably the former one.

Sure, go ahead. And oh god you just made me wonder what might've happened if Ryuunosuke summoned an Assassin instead of Caster.
Grey and I are still partnered up, yes.
Speaking of, has anyone volunteered to be Assassin's Master?
Imaginary numbers used by a magus not boosted by infinite magical energy like the grail isn't very useful. Sakura could only intuitively use it to create monsters, but without the grail's support the monsters are like the size of her hand. Also elements are fluid things and aren't strictly defined into the traditional five. There are some cultures that use the 12 zodiacs as 12 separate elements. Eastern magi use different elements than do Western magi use, and so on. It's possible that this void element isn't the same thing as tapping into the root.

True. I just wanted to be sure we were all on the same page. Like I said, having a unique Origin or type of magecraft derived from that Origin that focuses on anti-magic is nothing that particularly stands out as "going against canon".
Okay, after reading James' full profile, I have a few other things I'd like to say. First is that Void, Fire and Earth are elements, not schools of magecraft. Considering James' background, he likely falls into a similar category to Shirou, where they don't have a specific school they ascribe to because "the only real magic allowed to them" is the unique one they were born with (UBW in Shirou's case). Second is that Void is kind of the hallmark of Shikis Tohno and Ryougi, who both possess the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception (a.k.a HAAAAAAAAAAAX). I don't think we want anyone who has anything to do with the Root, Akasha, or the MEoDP in a Grail War RP (though I don't think you meant that when you said "Void"). Third, this ability of his sounds a lot like Imaginary Numbers, which was also pretty hax when Sakura was showing it off during Heaven's Feel. Again though, I doubt that's what you intended.

I hope this doesn't seem like I'm picking on you or anything. I do like the idea, I just think it needs some ironing out. To be clear, nothing with the power set is inherently bad/contradicting canon (he's kinda like Kiritsugu with Imagine Breaker lol), and I'm normally much more lax about canon and stuff than this. I'm just trying to help iron out details so it doesn't cause any problems or confusion later down the line :)

Of course I've probably overstepped my boundaries a bit already. This is all vance's call. Ball's in his court. I just thought I'd mention a few things that stood out to me (minor fixes hopefully, because again I do think the character is interesting and have tried my hand at playing a similar type of magus before).
I would suggest a collab post using titan pad or something but it's all up to you two. A collab would allow you two to get to where you want to be quicker. No one has to go to the priests' summons you can ignore it.

I think I'll pass if it's okay with Grey and whoever ends up being Assassin's Master. If Fate/stay night and Sunday school have taught me anything, it's that you should never trust a Catholic priest ;P
Oooh, what about "Iconoclast"? Someone who attacks or destroys sacred or religious beliefs (like the tradition/mystery of magic)
I haven't read the whole profile yet, but just off the top of my head, I'd have to say "Anti-Magecraft" doesn't really seem like a valid Origin. Remember, Kiritsugu's was "Cutting and Tying" xD

Maybe something like "Refutation" or something that means the opposite of mystery?
