When Tidius attempted to approach with the lacrama the new Earth mage swatted at his hand. The intent was to knock the lacrama away but he had a better grip, likely have anticipated the uncooperative behavior. Having failed that there wasn't much opportunity to prevent contact. Unlike the last time though Ariel's body changed slightly on contact. Her body turned into soil briefly and sucked the lacrama in. But it seemed that Ariel was unaware of that fact or any effect from it. A confused expression crossed her face. "Did you do something? Where did it go?"

Beyond the lacrama's disappearance no other effects appeared to manifest. At least not yet. One had to wonder if Tidius chose the order of magic on purpose. But for the moment Ariel, while confused, seemed unaffected by the magic contained in the lacrama.

Clearly they did not get the full scope of what went on in AIM labs. "We can't just let them blow the place up. There are innocent people down here and assets that will be helpful to us. They don't want us knowing what they're working on." She was running after a group of baddies when a blast door closed in front of her. Through the tiny window she could see them jump into a personnel carrier and fly off.

The quiet outside was shattered by the roar of engines and AIM craft took off in all directions. They knew the drill and had their escape plan ready to go at all times. Inside the lights flashed red and the alarm sounded, signaling the self-destruct was triggered. The place went into lockdown to trap whoever was still inside. "Reinhardt, that's your cue."

She herself was not to familiar with the device that Kassy wore. However there was no way to study it to make a new one while it was on her. And it could very well be the thing causing her discomfort. "Alright, I'll remove it. But let me know if you think we need to put it back on." Reaching up she carefully removed the other inhibitor. Kagerou kept it on hand should it be needed. "Do you feel alright?"

Well it seemed that Connor was giving her an ultimatum. Being locked up did not sound like a lot of fun. But she didn't quite have a choice now did she? Still she seemed to consider it as if she did have some say. Given a little time she may. A light must have gone off in her head because she smiled brightly. "Oh, can I watch your 'TV'? What you call cartoons are quite amusing."

I'm the oldest of ten. After a while I was given quite a lot of responsibility which included, but was not limited to, waking up at any hour of the night to feed/change/hold a baby until such time that they fell back asleep; babysit infants, toddlers, young children, and teenagers at the same time; of course there's cooking and cleaning for them as well... I know a thing or two about being a parent because there have been times where I have essentially had to be one.

For a moment it looked like Ariel might cooperate but then the new personality revealed itself. "I'm not going to just take more magic like that. I don't even know if it has any side effects." She crossed her arms and turned her head away a bit. Her face looked determined and wanted nothing to do with Tidius or his crazy ideas. Sadly only her arms were free and the other restraints had locks that she couldn't pick or break.

Tidius was likely going to get his way, but for now Ariel was going to resist. Almost at the foot of the table she noticed an open book. Had it been there the whole time? Being in an out of consciousness did not lend well observation though. There were a lot of notes, most she couldn't read from this distance, but they seemed to be loose theories about obtaining magic. Just how crazy was this guy?

So she did drain the lacrama. Now she was rather curious. "I've only ever been able to use one magic at a time. I've never been able to figure out why." Despite the situation she was in it occurred to her that now, in theory, she could use a powerful enough lactama to gain access to new magic. Though as of yet she didn't know if there were any side effects. "How did you know to use a lacrama? You seem to know things about me that even I don't."

Again she looked up at the large lacrama above her. It did seem to have magic in it but exactly what kind she couldn't make out clearly. Reaching up she stopped herself short of touching it. While she wanted to know what it would do but probably should wait to find out if there were any negatives first. Besides it looked as if Tidius was searching for another sample.

I didn't get the mention oddly. I'll have to think through a character.

Young Justice 2020: Zero Year

For some reason I am really not feeling it now. I have tried a few times now to post but I just can't get in the groove. I think I'll have to call it quits. Sorry everyone.
