She could hear that the others were trying to stop Marlene. For whatever reason the woman seemed hell bent on rending Ariel. She heard someone drop behind her and a voice call out what sounded like good news. Glancing back she saw Marlene on the ground with an arrow in her back. There weren't that many archers in Phoenix Wing as far as Ariel knew. But there were a lot of people in Crocus so it could be anyone.

But that wasn't much of a concern right now. Her life wasn't in danger as far as she could tell. Leaning over she began to catch her breath. By now she was also rather emotionally spent. It would be early for her to go to sleep but honest it sounded really good right now.

In the blink of an eye Ariel's life was both threatened and saved before she could really react. Ariel had forgotten how slow she could be without magic to assist her. What was even going on anyway? Had she done something to deserve this? Of course she moved away from her attacker even before Nolan said anything.

But then she was told to run. It took a few seconds for the order to click and even then she didn't do it right away. Shaking off her stupper Ariel turned toward the arena and ran toward it. She had a general idea of where the rest of the guild was from the talk before the games started. The bunch couldn't be that hard to find. With any luck that crazed woman was the only one after her for god knows what.

@Lmpkio Judging from this one reaction I would say that Marlene is not like Juvia. Yes Juvia is obsessive and easily made jealous, but she makes it a point not to attack guildmates. And really unless someone truly threatens her love's life she will not attack someone with maiming or deadly intent. When faced with jealousy she would attempt to woo or one up the competition.

No, Marlene is schichotic.

Nolan was babbling again it seemed. At least not he actually knew what was going on, not that he had any control of himself it seemed. He apparently was conflicted about the situation. While that was something Ariel expected she did not see him ever suggesting that this was a good thing. Like he said, it could be the charm doing the talking. So she had to take everything he said and did with a grain of salt.

While trying to work out what to say a sense of doom came over her. Turning around she saw the glowing green eyes of Marlene. She looked half crazy and Ariel suddenly felt quite small. Who the hell was this and what was her problem? Reaching behind her Ariel tried to find her chain whip but apparently didn't have it. Right, she didn't have it on her when she was teleported. Great, without that or her magic she was pretty well defenseless. However Nolan seemed to come to the rescue by stepping between them. Letting out a small sigh of relief it appeared that this was someone new to the guild. Likely just a misunderstanding, hopefully.
