It's most likely a guard. Seeing the earlier enchantments, it's not going to be an easy fight. Whoever built this place really didn't want anyone coming in or out of this place.

From the looks of it, it's what I would call an Amalgam or a slime of some kind.

Oooh how is my idea? I basically make an introduction helping you guys within the dungeon, Cersei flying overnight swooping down to blind the current opponent and Aerith hops down in a land and smile. "Looks like you need help, mind if I join in?"
