I would have assumed that the United Republic used some sort of overpowered sci-fi experimental tech themselves to beat the US, but the OP seemed to imply an amphibious assault, so I thought I would comment on how ridiculous that is.

That isn't to say I'm any less interested. I like ridiculous things just as much as sensible ones. I just couldn't resist making the comment.

Kaleb stands above average at 6'5" weighing in at 207 lbs. His attire consists of smart and adequate clothing that helps him blend in with crowds of upper class men and women. His dark brown hair is often in a generic ruffled style, and he never goes anywhere without his worn leather harness, sporting a few rusted golden and silver buckles. He has a quite intricate armband, consisting of three separate leather straps fastened by silver buckles. Cut into the straps is a fine cog work design, as well as having a golden cog on each strap.

He has been thwarted in the past by dud wallets, or even wallets attached to pockets by strings, but has found out different tactics and ways to approach someone to prevent that in the future.

Being part of a large network of thieves, pickpockets and all types of criminals, Kaleb has access to information leaked by eavesdroppers and members of the public, should he feel like eavesdropping himself. This can be used to threaten people with information gathered and get easy access into buildings and steal their valuables.
Flaws:
Complacence
Kaleb tends to get complacent on the job now, being an experienced pickpocket at the ripe age of 32. This has, in the past, led to him being caught and arrested, and even being mobbed up on by a bunch of pickpockets from the other side of town.

Colour Blindness
Kaleb was born colour blind, so it made life hard for him, especially when he took up pickpocketing. However, he managed to flog enough of his stolen goods to buy a special sight enhancer that allows him to see the world like everyone else does.

Tormenting Past
As a child, Kaleb was abused by his mother, and abandoned, alone and weak, at the age of 12, before the pickpockets came and took him in. This tormenting past has only been shared with the people closest to him, but some other people managed to get their hands on the story and used it to torture him.
Inventory: Kaleb carries with him a small knife, with a blade of about 4.5 inches long. It has a wooden handle with an intricate, wavy pattern carved into it, as well as his initials - K.A.E - scrawled roughly on the bottom. Along with that, he carries a 7 inch flintlock stolen from a Royal Guard.
Cybernetic Implants: He has a sight enhancer that allows him to see colours normally, as he was born colour blind. Although it only covers his right eye, it is also able to give him ordinary sight in his left eye, too. As well as enhancing his sight, it also acts as a magnifying glass, so he can examine the designs and patterns in the wallets and other various items he steals.

The Mind

History:

Kaleb Atticus Erickson was born in Whitby on the 22nd of October; a stormy Wednesday. His mother, Kayleigh Lyla Erickson, was a drug addict, and his father had left them when she started her addiction, thus making Kaleb the victim to her abuse. Kaleb was forced to go out and collect her drugs for her from when he was just 7 years old, and had to go down alleyways full of drunkards and junkies. He was stabbed multiple times, and even got knocked out once, with it taking an hour before Kayleigh came down and found him unconscious on the floor. He has plenty of scars to show from his trips down the alley, ones that will haunt him forever and never let him forget his childhood. Kaleb also was abused by his mother throughout his entire childhood, and at one point he almost died - his lungs nearly collapsed after Kayleigh threw him into a wall. This continued throughout his entire childhood until he was abandoned at 12.

When he was abandoned, he was found asleep on the path by a gang of pickpockets making their way through Whitby whilst pocketing goods. They saw the boy as an opportunity - children were deemed innocent, and smaller hands meant they could get goods that were deep inside pockets whilst still being undetected. So, they took Kaleb in and raised him as one of their own. By the age of 15, he could easily get his hand in and out of people's pockets, and even subtly lift up overcoats to get to the inner pockets. He was going to be great.

At age 17, Kaleb was better than any pickpocket at age 21, and so he was recruited amongst the best pickpockets and thieves to infiltrate Buckingham Palace. It was a long journey down there, and Kaleb was so tired that he had to stay behind in the carriage for a while before being able to go further. He eventually came round, and distracted a couple of guards, before running inside after the others. They scolded him for not following them right away, but he showed them what he'd gotten of a couple of them, and their eyes lit up. Everyone looked up to Kaleb for his skill and sleight of hand, no matter how much he was despised by the overseas gangs. They raided the palace, and managed to steal the Royal Crown. One of the pickpockets - Jacob - tried to steal the Crown Jewels, but he was caught and beheaded. They mourned him, but also pitied him for his stupidity. It was one of the greatest raids in history, though, despite their loss.

Kaleb continued to steal and steal, selling item after item until he finally racked up enough money for a special eyepiece that could change his sight as he knew it. It took him five years to rack up enough money - £560. His first time putting on the eyepiece was just strange and amazing. He could see in colour for the first time, and for the first time, he felt hope. From then on, he continued his profession, with dreams of becoming the most infamous pickpocket of all time.
Personality: Kaleb is quite caring and wise, but also reckless when people insult him or the people he loves. He's grateful towards his "mentor", Samuel, as he is like a father to him, and without him Kaleb would've been dead. He is quite cautious around people of the law, and doesn't trust any strangers that try to interact with him.
Motivation: His motives are simple - he was raised to pickpocket, so he does so. He also wants to make sure that he can make a living, and due to his criminal record being so high, his only available job is pickpocketing and thieving.
Character Goals: To become the most infamous and skilled pickpocket known to man.

The only thing it doesn't have is social class and employment, but I think you'll be able to figure that one out.
