Lucifer Palaiologos

Lucifer sat bolt upright in his bed, sweating profusely. When he saw here he was, he calmed down slightly, but he was shaken more than he would like to admit. It was just a bad dream, he told himself. Nothing to get worked up over. But worked up he was, and even after he got showered and breakfasted, his heart was still going at light speed.
He clothed himself in a plain black t-shirt and grey combats, foregoing the robe for today. Robes were for special occasions and there was no need to draw undue attention to himself.
He headed out, whispering a "Goodbye" to Alexy as he left, and went out to the sports field. There, he was greeted by a familiar face leading the class and he hissed. That girl who was Alexy's rival was a teacher? Great. That's just what he needed, a teacher who had a reason to dislike him through no fault of his own.
The students had two choices: beat the teacher in a fight, or heft what looked like a small elephant on their back and run laps until they were physically unable to keep going. Fighting the teacher was out of the question - as good at unarmed combat as he was, he didn't want to draw attention to himself from her - so he lifted an elephant on to his back and began jogging lightly. He marvelled at how utterly pointless this was. An assassin didn't need enough supplies to embarrass General Patton, they needed a quick wit and fast hands. In, kill, out. That's how every other successful assassin around the world had ever done it. Why get big and bulky if they wanted to stay hidden?
The weight was certainly noticeable, and perhaps too much for some people. Luci had barely got going when the girl in front of him tripped over and landed quite heavily face-first. She called for help, but her Japanese was mediocre at best and pitiful at worst, so everyone just ignored her. Wretches. If they were in a bad way, they'd want someone to help them. But when the time came for them to help someone else, they just walk on by. Well, he wasn't one of those people.
Instead of running past the girl like so many others, Lucifer stopped by her side to loosen the load on her back. He dropped his own pack and got to work. Since the weight was what was keeping her down he tried to loosen her bag. He couldn't lift it off, so he pushed it onto the track, causing more obstructions.
With the weight off her back, the girl should be able to get up. But being a nice guy, Luci stuck by her side to make sure she was okay, teacher's complaints be damned.
"You alright? Do you need help up?" he asked her in English, hoping she hadn't hurt herself too seriously with her fall.
