It's just a bit too OP.
I can already think of several realistic drawbacks for them.
Being insensitive to pain sucks.
The poison may also destroy some of their ability to think which might be a mixed blessing because they would be pretty much unable to feel the taste of food or feel pleasure the normal way.
For the above these soldiers would require handlers to look over them outside combat and occasionally also solve issues on the battlefield.

If you are referring to Damascus Steel, it wasn't alchemy that made it strong, it was a mixture of plant matter that happened to have rough, naturally forming nanotubes.
Of course it has nothing to do with alchemy. I just mean that there could be always certain methods and naturally occouring materials which allow such things to happen.
For example I can imagine his nation experimenting with poisons and discover that a certain nerve poison in small dosage (usually) don't kill people but makes their pain receptors (and probably a number of other nerves) dead. The basic description on these soldiers was pretty inhumane already so I don't think he minds turning it up by a notch.

@Willy Vereb So how will the riders attack? With small arms?
With small arms, of course. They might try to carry one or two bombs to manually drop but that'd be already risky.
Aside from strict weight limitations there really aren't that much space to hang things on the griffin's body, either.
You have to leave a sizeable portion of the griffin bare to allow free movement for its wings.

Alchemy don't needs to be magical, just a slight bit fantastical.
Something like a pain blocker could be developed, IMO.
Hell, we have ancient smiths in our history who could forge steel which was happened to be reinforced by carbon nanotubes.
Yup, the big sensation of material engineering was something a group of smiths accidentally managed to reproduce during their "primitive" steelmaking procedures.
@Willy Vereb Fine, I yield. You can have your griffens bro.
Thank you!
Well, not like I have any grand plans with them.
Realistically a Griffin could barely carry more than its rider. If I do the sensible thing and decide to give my riders parachutes then it gets even more problematic.
Griffs should be able to carry 80-100 kilos or so.
Pulling weight is a different thing, so far the weight suspends in the air.
I'm thinking of something like a balloon cart for rich nobles pulled by multiple Griffins.

Look Willy, I denied the guy above magic and stuff, I'm only being fair by denying you it.
You don't make much sense here.
This isn't any sorts of magic. It's a species of big birds (or bird-mammal hybrid species, to be precise).
I can't see what advantage it even gives me in the age of aircrafts. It's the matter of style.
With the same reasoning you can just deny elves or any kind of fantastical element from the RP.

If the fantasy tag is being pulled, does that mean we have to stick to humans? I ask because I was including a few non-human species in my nation.
Hope not because that was kind of the point of the whole RP to me.
If we pull any of the "fantasy" part from the RP I pretty much going to lose all interest in it.

@Willy Vereb I hope there will be no more griffen riding then, tech, remember that this is tech. I don't mind it being a past legend though.
I can't see why griffins are being an issue.
It's literally air cavalry. And we all know what happened to cavalry units in World Wars when faced vehicles.
Griffins are slow compared to aeroplanes and you really don't want to combat fighters with them.
That and fighters are cheaper to own than any breed of griffin.

@Voltus_VentusIf we are at it, check my technology section for Yllendthyr.
I even included a bunch of mechanical properties for mithril.
Basically it's kinda like a lighter and weaker version of Titaniun, at least if we measure modern alloys.
If we watch it by the time's standards mithril is a decent metal but a I said steel armors are better. You may compensate for this via thickness but you can't always do it.
Another thing to note is that mithril is softer and bends easier than steel.
The latter mean elven constructs need to be lighter because mithril frames can take less load.
On the other hand Mithril is rather elastic and ductile along with decent properties as a conductor.
Mithril can pretty much replace copper or gold wires.

Anyways, the one part which may make you raise your eyebrow is aviation.
I didn't detail it yet but basically elves have a long history in riding Griffins into battle.
That and the fact their bodies are a natural gyroscope gives them a considerable advantage in aviation. Be it technology or their experience at flight.

If you'd displayed the tiniest amount of common sense and actually read the original post, you'd have found that your questions were already answered. Anti-French sentiment persuaded the United Kingdom to force Belgium to tolerate German troop movements, and Austria-Hungary confederated.

duck, what sort of NRP will this be? Stats based, more free-form?
I did read the OP. And it makes no sense because UK would've known they're the next in line. Like I said among some other reasons the purpose of WW1 was the revision on colonization, which obviously involves the UK. Even if the UK doesn't wish to enter the war, they will. Just like how it happened with America (thanks to Germany's hilariously bad plan to use Mexico to attack the USA). Either way even without Belgium allowing passage and the UK actively fighting if the German leadership is less desperate and wait till the Bolsevik uprising makes Russia exit the war it ends circa around 1917-18. So that's better for the timeline.

The only thing I'm not sure on is whether Austria-Hungary would informally break up in 1917 like it happened in history. Suppose they don't if the war will be in their favor. Absolutely not if we go with the above scenario and the French get overwhelmed "quick" a year before this would've happened. I'm also not sure if Italy would side with the Entente without the UK trying to convince it (and how the French would be at the brink of defeat).
If I participate (because I have a lot on my plate already) then may as well take Austria-Hungary.
I'm Hungarian so I do know what to do with them.

Speaking of which, exactly what you mean by "Austria" or "Hungary" because neither of these nations were the same as they are right now.
Also nationalism was an issue but exactly for this reason as the "victors" they'd throttle it down with vengeance.
Similarly, what Czechoslovakia are you talking about? Their territory was pretty much shared between Austria and Hungary until nationalist took the opportunity after WW1.
Either way, internal politics will be handled well because by this period the current king is Charles IV who was a pretty level-headed and amicable ruler (unfortunately he took the throne during the wrong time, well not in this RP).

BTW, why did this war last for 5 years without the help of either the Brits or the USA?
That makes no sense. At its absolute best the war would've ended in 1916 without them, especially if the Germans are allowed free pass through Belgium.
Then again, why would UK allow that? The Great War was all about re-shuffling the control over colonies which the Central Powers missed out on before.
