There is not.
That should've been kind of the point here. this is no blind exploration game but where the various races are already living together.

As usual post it in PMs or the OOC first and wait for approval.
I will be working on my Glorph Empire later tomorrow.
@duck55223Is there something like the UN in this game? I mean a council where all the important civilization gather to discuss things or make worldwide regulations and laws when necessary?
I think you implied this before and I hope it exist.

@Dinh AaronMkDid you ask duck's permission to post your profile in the character section?
Duck tends to tell in the OOC these even for PM discussion so I find this strange.
Also being THE human faction in a space NRP is quite a responsibility which is another reason I am surprised.

And now its your turn because my Glorph Empire hates the guts of humans. They gleefully murder humans any time they could get away with it. So saying the Glorph are hostile with humanity is the understatement of the ages. Think of the relationship between the Narn and Centauri from B5, for example.
I plan to get some kind of collab with Gig's fairies till I wait for more events piling up for me to react.
Also I contacted Louis Dabout and he says he got busy and a bit overwhelmed before but he plans to return.
I am considering a new idea, namely an aggressive and arrogant cephaloid race called the Glorph Empire who are partially based after the Martians from War of the worlds as well as several other inspirations.
The have history with Humanity even before humans became a spacefaring race and that and many other incidents cemented the fact they are as belligerent with humans as possible.
they're generally treacherous and known that if given the faintest chance they'd conquer known space space without the faintest hesitation.
Of course with this galactic alliance thing going on they are pretty much kept in check.
They are also known to come up with various doomsday weapons and wondrous measures to promise them victory...except they almost always malfunction and cause more harm to the Glorph than to their enemies.
I may join as a Mercenary/Pirate Nation collecting ex-soldiers who grew disillusioned by their former nation's propaganda and other falsities.
@Willy Vereb That's been done before, give everyone whatever they want. Even if it isn't overly powered, in the roleplay there are excuses, which can be reasonable, to say 'mine is better, which is why they die. If they say they are better, they are OP'

I'd rather have a stable system called a munchkin system, than an unstable system die.

Keyguy has witnessed such a thing multiple times. Wilson has been victim to it several times. I'm sure Terminal and Alfhedil have seen it enough.

I am not saying their roleplays were bad, I'm saying the players were.

Willy, if you don't like the system, please don't get involved. This whole system is experimental and was ONLY made because people HAVE to have all out wars. For one, I am extremely tired of the Nations that belittle another because of power.

I rather not turn this into a poisonous debate so I only give you a few flying mention.
Nope, most of the categories are practically interchangeable. Laser IS radiation, for starters. If you have a shield which tanks these powerful lasers, you can resist nukes in space (given if they are at similar levels of power). Radiation is irrelevant compared to the levels of energies we'll be throwing at each other.
What you list under biological weapons share nothing in common (poison, radiation, heat and plasma).
And lastly EMP or ionic energy is no magic. EMP in particular is just poor man's charged particle weapon. They don't just magically shut down electronics any more than any other DEW does.
So yeah, there are many issues. Besides, the way it's worded is a blatant rock paper scissors system.
Although the way you state it would make it different but then there's no point for the weapon/defense pairings to begin with.

And nope, I still don't think powergaming ruined any of the recent Space NRPs. It was apathy. People had fun in creating their NS but they got busy and it starts a chain reaction spiraling downwards until the game turns into a graveyard void of any decent activity.
And if somebody is on a powertrip? Shoot him down. GMs could do something once in a while.

These are my last comments on the matter. In order to prevent escalation I refuse to continue this debate further.
I wish you have fun with the game. Depending on how much free time I get I may or may not take part in it.

That was just me asking a question, I don't think I'll actually be using sonic/sound weapons in this run.
I don't either.
Sonic weapons are just the poor man's DEW.
They could be potentially better than lasers if you manage to focus them because it involves more mass and you can induce material failure in things if the frequency is tuned well.
But otherwise? Your generic shield/armor of sufficient strength should deal with it.
This artificially induced rock-paper-scissor system only helps for munchkins to abuse things further. Why can't people just use whatever and then the GM gives a tech level to the players or say up if something is too much?
You can also try a point system where having higher tech means you have disadvantages elsewhere. Although this can also lead to overspecialization because average joes are always coming out the worst in such deal.

But this? It's pointless and illogical.
I can go in detail on how the weapon and defense categories make little sense but unless I am specifically asked to I think what I said is enough.

@Willy Vereb One; Aesthetics allow you to make your weapons be near-anything. Two; Bonus Tech can change the way your weapons are entirely. Three; Every roleplay that uses such unbalanced systems die because of arguments and trouble. Fourth; It is an entire galaxy, some civilizations may be more advanced, but I think this is more opinionated than fact.

@ClocktowerEchos I think sonic/sound weaponry, which currently is undefendable.
My problem is not with the tech levels. Okay, let's try that. I made stat system for a still ongoing Mech RPG so people can compare. It kind of works.

The problem is with the weapon types which make no sense.
Case in point with sonic weapons and how they apparently go right through the defenses.
It's hardly the only part but basically you overcomplicate things and do it in a way which actually makes no sense.

EDIT: Also ever since I participated in games here the reason a space NRP went defunct was the lack of interest and activity gradually dying down as everyone had somebody to wait on.
