@greywolf375I might be a bit out of touch here. What does your organization do?
My White Corps is basically the space NRP version of Wallmart.
I don't like military super nations strongarming the rest, either.
What's the point?
Take my Morte Empire as an example. People were concerned over my fleet but in reality my nation only wanted a new living space and perhaps alliance with other, better established nations. I was a minor power even if I had considerable military.
A nation which builds up a huge fleet and conquers everything only really works for a 4X game or perhaps a badly written fiction. Conquest is more than just killing the enemy soldiers and then painting your flag over the territory.

Anyways, if I join this game I'd do that with an alternate version of White Corps.
It's an interstellar megacorp which may be present in many of your worlds. It isn't really a nation so there are a number of unique dynamics going on.
While I like the setting as a galactic community actually being here for support I'm really at odds with the tech system.
It sounds like something invented for an old 4X videogame and has little connections with the realities of space warfare.
Kinetic and laser weapons can kind of make sense.
Rest? It's just a complicated rock-paper-scissors game which has no place in a freeform RP.
Besides, I can't really see the need to balance tech in freeform NRPs. At best you would need to step up when there's an unhealthy arms race going on.
Situations like this are handled by a "tech GM" if necessary.
Your weapon vs defense system reminds me of Galactic Civilizations II.

Also if we always make such small nations, did anyone ever thought about the idea of focusing a space NRP on a smaller area? Say, a few hundred star systems because FTL doesn't allow you much beyond it?
See Babylon 5 as an example where travel of a hundred lightyears could take weeks at times and they require established routes to travel.

Anyways, sorry if this sounded like a rant. I hope you guys enjoy this game.
@Willy Vereb

What do you want to happen?

In my first post I was going to send diplomatic envoys with you to discuss the possibility of a joint-invasion in that border region between us.
Depends.
I'll discus the details with you in the PM.

Who's next in line to post?
I wish to live with Mihdar's laziness and copypaste over half of my opening post with Yllendthyr. But for that I still need a few more things happenening?
What if some mess happens in the country between my Yllendthyr and @Cyclone's Moravia?

@Skepic
Can we have that national festival with Avalia again, or you have different plans?

@Sigma
Also can you post your NS in the characters page? I don't think people mind if it isn't complete yet. Just to keep tabs on things.
Unless @Voltus_Ventus is against it, of course.
Speaking of which:
@Araby264, are you still with us?
Again, I'm going to tell you the same thing I told the other guy who brought up realism. Its not supposed to be realistic, I'm saying no for balance.
This is supposed to be an RP where real world logic is loosely translated into practicality. Do you think anyone would use such things in the real world? Hell no but that's why we have them here since we can pull this shit off and not have to worry if they're realistic or not.
Also as I've said before, you have airships, I see the Striker units as a force that makes up for them but each have their own pros and cons. Think musketeers vs skirmishers in AOE3, both are good infantry units, but they're meant for different things but neither one is any better than the other in most cases.
Also, why the sudden change of heart to flying infantry? You seemed pretty happy with your current army up until now. What happened?
What happened? That'd be my exact question. Jeez, nobody is complaining about the lack of realism. But this along the fact jetpacks are plenty popular of early 20th century fiction are points why we can have them.
Also there's no change of heart, more like I am inspired to add something else. It's called expression of one's creativity.
Nobody is really competing here or anything. I just found that my friendship to avalia could inspire me to adopt something similar to his witches.
But I both wanted some variety and the fact I concour with the elves' opinion regarding the Witches. No problems with others having them but I don't want them.

Only one flying infantry bullshit per RP.
Jetpacks are actually far more realistic than the aircraft engine legs.
Not to mention they're two sides of the same coin.
It's like allowing T-34 tanks but banning Shermans for the other side.
Not to mention this is something I'd do after realizing having flying infantry isn't too bad.

<Snipped quote by Willy Vereb>

The entire reason Fuso and Izuno are using flying infantry from Avalia is that they don't have airships and thus use them to combat airships.
Its seen as a more honorable approach to sky fighting since floating around in airships just doesn't have the charm of honorable man to man fighting that dogfighting in a plane or flying warriors do.
I originally wanted them as a balance since I lack airships. Thus I'm going to advocate not letting you have them since you already have airships.
Besides, having women fight in their underwear (or less as is the case in Fuso), is quite an effective distraction tactic against enemy pilots
Also, balloons used to scare the shit out of Fusan civilians who saw them as which craft and black magic
Well, I'm not sure if it works for fighting airships. Albeit it'd be better at that than say facing off against propeller craft with any competitive speed.
On the other hand flying infantry would be a small and nimble target which can quickly change directions. that can help albiet the lack of heavy weapons would not.
Boarding or planting bombs is your best bet with them, IMO.

I am thinking of giving my nations some flying infantry, too.
Partial'y derived from their relations with Avalia, albeit they find the basic concept ridiculous.
What with soldiers restricted to fight in underpants.
Also for Yllendthyr's speed demons propellers are too slow.
So instead they use jetpack troops.
Coming in the next winter!
I am kind of a reactionary type.
Perhaps I can write up a story about Yllendthyr diplomats visiting the Commonwealth but everything in time.
I first wish to make an intro like post to give you a right impression about my nation. And well, like I said I need material for that.
So yeah, I'll wait for a while. I was hurrying people out of the game's concern.
@Voltus_VentusFurther updated my profile.
I'll add more but aside from perhaps history I pretty much gave everything people need to know about Yllendthyr.
Also when do we start with the IC. Like others I worry we end up the same as with the previous game, tons of OOC activity yet the IC ends at the second page. God, I hope it won't happen.
