I'll get started on plot for a Pirate RP. It will involve aspects of the original PotC universe but I think a free-form roleplay will allow for some non-cannon adventures that our OC's can inspire. Besides, I'm sure we can make it just as kickasss.

Name: Allen Greaves Age: 19 Gender: Mail! Appearance: orig09.deviantart.net/a5e8/f/2011/123/.. Except ignore the scar around his neck that suggests he's been beheaded (this character actually has been, several times...) Power: Energy Absorption. That is, one day he figured out that instead of being, say, burned or electrocuted, he got hyper and energetic. Can also, when he gets better at it, form electricity from collected energy. Personality: A bit quiet, but obliged to share his opinions if he thinks they're relevant. Unrelenting if he feels justified and that it's necessary, but he generally prefers to just sit and watch everything happening. Withdrawn from people; will talk to everyone and try not to offend, but keeps everyone at a distance, as well. Likes: Computers, the sun, warmth, books, all that intellectual stuff, observing, more appropriate humor. Dislikes: Anything cold or the like- food and drink is fine, but he feels especially drained around cold things. Uncomfortable about anyone being too close, emotional confrontations, being the center of attention whenever he doesn't want it, and similar things. History: Grew up outside Pavar (That's how it's spelled, right?), on the West Coast in a somewhat rural coastal town. At the age of 10, his family packed up and moved to the Northeast, based on his father's job- didn't end well for him, as he consistently became more and more ill in the wintry cold. A couple years later, they moved to Texas, where his parents, not a year after they moved, were killed in a car accident. Him, his two brothers and his over-20 sister were moved to his grandparents nearby (half the reason they moved to Texas), and he started to recover from both grief and illness. Later on, he became more and more habitual with working out with the rest of his high school peoples, but never really joined them. When he reached the age of 18, he moved to an isolated town where he could work online rather than anything else, and wanted to live a quiet life in a small town. Didn't work so well. Awakening:
Allen was really damn confused. For a couple years, now, heat, warmth, it just felt so great... but he hated the cold. Brrrr! He could barely keep up with everyone else. Not like his confusion really controlled everything.
He had his laptop in his... lap, of course, and was sitting in his new chair, at his new house, with a new laptop, wearing new clothes. Everything was new because he was new. New online college, too. But either way- he escaped, and he could finally be away from the rest of his family. He didn't really mourn his mom and dad- they weren't perfect or anything- but he did miss them every now and then. But not as often as his brothers; they criticized him for "letting their parents burn," for being the only one that lived, etc. It didn't really bother him that much- they were just annoying and he couldn't have saved the lives of those who were already dead. The end.
Sitting on his new lawn- gah, everything is so new!- in the hot sun at lunch time was interesting. By this point, the temperatures were soaring up, dry heat making anything in the distance indistinguishable between mirage and reality. His neighbor passed by; she had walked out of her house not ten minutes before, and she was already sweating a good bit. He waved; she waved back with a smile, calling a greeting. She had a hint of confusion on her face- he understood it. She probably knew that he was already out here when she walked out, and she was already sweating. He, however, didn't have a single bit. He felt good in the sun. It felt lovely, like bathing in liquid gold. And he did anything but his online college for the time being- it was annoying busywork this year.
So he went inside to his unconditioned house, with the air conditioner sat in relative disuse since he moved in. The refrigerator offered cold Barq's Root Beer to give refreshment. Downing the oh-so-lovely liquid, he set his laptop on the table and went to make himself a sandwich, humming slightly to himself, a very Roaring-Twenties kind of tune, cutting up tomatoes, breaking apart lettuce into manageable pieces for a regular sandwich, slicing up a block of cheese he had brought with him (He still hadn't shopped yet, he was a tad nervous to do so), and laying on several layers of honey ham. To top it off, he smoothly spun the lid off his hamburger-flavored Season-All seasonings, doused the meat thoroughly with it, tossed on the cheese, lettuce, and tomato onto it, added a light sprinkle to the tomato, before smoothly spinning the cap back on and tossing it back into its place in the nearly-empty cabinet, which he had designated for seasonings.
Then he ate it, and it tasted good. Gave him more energy than he ever really felt before, either- felt like he had just been injected with adrenaline. Still eating, he walked outside and just stopped. He nearly recoiled from how... invigorated he felt. He felt like he could do anything! So he grabbed a shovel, grabbed a more garden-focused pickaxe, both of which were in the back of his white pickup, and he carried them into his wooden fence-enclosed backyard, and started tearing up a seven-foot-in-diameter hole, loosening up the grass and the somewhat dry soil. A shame- the owners before him must've kept good care of their yard. Now he's here digging it up because he just needed to do something. Up and down, leverage it to be efficient, toss it aside, grab the shovel, start tossing the dirt out somewhat evenly to the edges of his hole, keep digging.
And when he was three feet deep, he was sweating, he was tired, his arms and back hurt, but he still felt pretty damn good. He climbed out, and went and took a long hot shower. Halfway through, his water caught; for a moment, it gurgled, then it came out straight cold. Immediately, he felt as if someone put a damper on him, as if all that energy just went out the drain. It didn't take even a minute for him to shut it off and step out of the shower, drying himself off. And all this time, he was thinking- why so much energy? Why does he feel so invigorated? He's never felt this way before.
Then he had it. Why, it's been spelled out in a dozen books. He's absorbing the energy. More energy from the food, from heat like a solar cell, from the sun's UV, all of that. Well, it was the only thing that made sense. But still- it's a tad absurd. He'd have to investigate this further, later on...
He went, got dressed, and took a long nap, his windows letting sunlight stream in and bathe him in its golden glow. Of sorts- it wasn't really glowing OR golden, but I'm a writer, yeah?
