....You're not the GM, you have no reason to judge anyone...

@Spriggs27
Yeah, I've already seen that little is to be gained from trying to get my point across. Nothing has been changed, or will be changed, methinks. I cede my case.

And I am not lashing- good Emma here insulted my... work, in its form, and was rude. And has been that kind of sideline person that's been glaring at me the entire 'match' of the 'game,' so to speak.

@MrMinerGuy142
Also, sorry I didn't reply to that bit before-
When I said spacing, I meant your response 4 hours ago from now. It was just a big block of text, no paragraph spacing or nothing. It's hard to read and if you lose track halfway through, it can be difficult to find one's place again in any speed, compared to when someone uses paragraph spacing often, like myself.

Stop the pointless babble WilsonTurner.

-redacted-

That is to say-
You're being very ineffective at stopping something that is calling for reason and attention to oneself's reasons. Telling me to shut up and calling what I clearly to believe to be relevant in some way as 'pointless babble' is the same as using a shovel to cut through stone in Minecraft.
@MrMinerGuy142
I've played it (FTL) for about ten hours total, which is about 29 playthroughs, according to the stats.

Congratulations, you lightly defended your side and then immediately gave up when I simultaneously responded to as much as I possibly could without putting it in word and colorcoding everything and putting all the sections beneath specific headers, for clarification for myself as I wrote and reviewed.

You're saying an independent ship moving through space without a commanding officer would be attacked by pirates- which is true. But a ship that's outlying and in constant communication a mother fleet would be much less likely to be attacked.

Also, there is historical representation in carrying a cutlass into battle- they were used all the way up until charging with a sword failed six times out of seven, and resulted in heavy losses to the sword-wielders every time. You can't block a shotgun, see. And a shotgun can be fired from much farther away than a sword, while managing to be a variety of sizes with different powers. A shotgun can act as a rifle, without a stock and with a short barrel, as a shorter-ranged rifle that's easier to fire than a bolt action. Or, it can act as a spray-and-pray weapon, such as an automatic shotgun, that can tear apart anything in front of it, regardless of body armor or shield. In this age, there could also be energy weapons that's simply a burst of paralyzing energy, nonlethal but effective, which would be almost impossible to dodge unless you weren't in its range in the first place.
@WilsonTurner Your not the GM, you have no reason to judge anyone's CS or post.

Since I am based in America, and I inhabit it's arrogance into the internet, I say: Freedom of Speech.

And also- we are human beings. We will judge every single thing there is, regardless if it's snotty conscious judging or if it's unconscious. I don't care if you're religious, nonreligious, a plain ol' good person, or a plain ol' bad person. Everyone does it, and everyone will do it until we change our biology to be otherwise.

There are many times when, if I have a conscious judgement, I will say nothing and simply ignore it, push it aside, or let it influence me. But there are some things which I will most certainly not stay silent about. Consider me honest in that way.

Well Dr.Archer has two hearts, so you could consider her a time lord, even though they aren't in her body, their her hearts now, and she is willing to take organs from cremates but don't worry only ones that aren't needed really.

My character- who is not accepted yet- was born in the early days of interplanetary travel- that is, before FTL or even close to FTL travel. And he's still alive.

@MrMinerGuy142
First of all- as a part-time Grammar Nazi, you need to space out your words. That giant block of words is painful and hard to read- each topic has its own paragraph. Like so- I am saying that you have something grammar-y that you should correct- you don't have to, of course- and so this paragraph is entirely dedicated to one thing- the grammar that you should fix to be a better writer and etc. etc.

A "Battleship" was a type of ship that was designated when a series of ships designated "superdreadnoughts" became better than a "superdreadnought," thus making a "Battleship" theoretically better than a "superdreadnought." In theory, a "battleship" is superior to a "dreadnought," since the "battleship" was built as the next level of "dreadnought." However, it's often used in science fiction as dreadnoughts being great big bullet sponges with really big guns, with battleships being the step below them, or equal to them, just with more focus on big guns than big armor.

A pirate vessel would be fool to engage any Navy ship unless it absolutely had to, or had almost all advantages- such as eliminating that ship's reinforcement capability. If a pirate vessel engaged a light ship, and that light ship didn't run, it's likely because that light ship just called for backup. Pirates, while they may certainly lack more civilized aspects, cannot afford to be stupid. They have very few friends, and must be wary and cautious, especially in times of advanced technology. Now, I know in FTL every single ship you come across will attack you unless they are really, truly friendly. But this is not FTL- and things are not balanced in real life like they are in games. Even FTL is balanced compared to real life- I know that there are plenty of times when there is quite literally no way to escape a hostile ship because it's so unbalanced. But most of the time- it's always like that.

@MrMinerGuy142 Second Post [recent]:
A) I am not arguing. Disagreeing and giving a lengthy response is not arguing, or flaming. If I were cursing and saying that you are most [insert insulting word] ever, then yes, indeed, I would be. But I'm not.
B) See, some people might say, "who cares, it's [subject]," but that's them- others aren't "who cares," they have a very large passion for it, and don't like a handwavium response. They might like details and facts- I would say, "who cares, it's cars," even though my dad loves cars so much that he's bought them, fixed them, raced them, drove them. I don't care much about cars, even though I kinda like them. But my dad absolutely loves cars, spends all his times on cars, and learns all he can about all the cars he finds interesting- which are most cars. So saying, "who cares," is rather rude to people who actually care. See what I mean? And before you call this flaming- I am not angry, I am annoyed (as anyone can be), and I am responding reasonably and without insult or anger.
C) I am not taking offense.

@MrMinerGuy142 First Post/CS [recent]:
My personal opinion is that he looks like a cool guy. I don't see anything that I'd disagree with, except for one thing.

Just that swords, even very large sharp ones, would be largely ineffective, if someone had a taser (which could, nowadays, be a simple wrist-device) or somesuch. It might be that you aren't actually using the really large sword (which, with that size, would actually hinder combat inside a starship or inside a building), but that's just me saying this just in case.

@GodOfWar
I've had bad experiences with flamewars- being the one people are flaming at, the one that is flaming at others, and as one that has joined in, or has flamed at someone else because of their less-flaming responses. I hold nothing against you- if I were flaming, I would. But I'm not, so I'm not holding anything against you... See?

[@all]
Just because I am posting long-winded and thorough does not mean I am flaming, arguing, or very heatedly discussing. It means, that I am being thorough and longwinded. I believe something to be illegitimate or unreasonable, and I am saying so. Because no one is taking me serious and is just handwaving it away, I am reinforcing my point more until its paid attention to- if you had ignored me entirely, I would've either stopped entirely and not bothered, or I would've actually become angry and responded accordingly. I love science fiction- very much so. I love details and realism in this otherwise unrealistic possible world of the future. The things that make it seem like it could very much become real- not just a superfusion reactor that works because it does. Rather, a very powerful reactor that creates energy through a chamber that combines antimatter and its opposite matter to collect the burst of energy that comes when antimatter and matter react to each other and annihilate each other.

I've lost track on whether or not I haven't replied to something else that was meant for me, or that I was going to reply to. Either way, these are my responses. Again, since it needs to be reinforced so very often- I am not flaming. I am being thorough in my responses, because no one is taking me seriously. Because no one is taking me seriously, I am responding by elaborating more.
One second, I'm working all my responses into one post.

And btw- I am not angry. I am not flaming. I consider it to be legitimately inaccurate. By choosing to reply to me, you are acknowledging my disagreement and encouraging me to continue, which I will. I spent the majority of my first roleplays in the world of the internet on KeyGuyPerson's Star Empires- from there, I have gone from a crappy roleplayer with perfect characters and bullshitium armor and the, to nearly what I am now. And in that roleplay series, debate, argument, and discussion is very, very common because of the science fiction sandbox nature. Saying you can make whatever outlandish technologies one wants leads to disagreements because of the power of such technologies relative to each other.

Hence, my rather lengthy responses to rebuttals concerning things I don't agree with. The length and thoroughness I go to is mainly because of those Precipice of War [censored! :D] guys who endlessly and endlessly picked apart every single thing I said and pointed out all the wrong in them- so I started writing both to share my opinion and cover all the bases I am currently thinking of while writing.

@GodOfWar, you say flamewar, but I am not flaming. I am not intending to be disrespectful or rude. I am intending to correct what is, in my opinion, because that is all one can ever go on with fiction, illegitimate and unrealistic problems or characteristics.
