I'm actually not double-posting out of self-restraint, more than not being allowed. If I start double-posting in the IC, you guys wouldn't see the end of it. :P

As for the trial, it's actually a fairly important part of the Prologue. If your characters can't figure and accomplish at least two of the hidden goals needed to be accepted, you'll actually be kicked out of the Familia and, most likely, starve to death in the streets because nobody else'll take you. :P

Of course, there are always inteeresting bits, you just need to find them. What we could do is you guys post short posts about what your character wants to do for the day, or time period, and if anything in particular comes up, I would inform you. Like for example:

"Ayame decided to use the time between noon and evening to go browse the market for potential deals."

If something interesting came up, I'd send you a PM or post something like:

"As Ayame was wandering about the market stalls, wrinkling her nose at the various unpleasant odors that assaulted her nostrils, she spotted Doneth Skrayer over by a jewelry merchant, furrowing his brow at the selection."

You could then either choose to engage the "event", or simply go on to somewhere else. This way, it'll also be easy to sync up timelines and such, because everyone will use a "piece" of the day to dedicate to something, if you get what I mean.

That's just an idea though, if you got any better ones, I'd love to hear'em.
Duoya and me should be finishing up a collab soon-ish, and after Risque posts something, I'll be able to finally get to deal with Ayame's shennanigans.

I also want to check with you guys how you want to handle Athena's trial.

As you've likely guessed, you're all going to get the same deal that Dahlia got. So my question is:

Do you want to actually play out all 7 in-story days, from morning to when you go to sleep? Or do you want to do summary days where you bunch together everything you did that day? Do you want to do a mix of the two? Or do you have another suggestion or idea for the trial period? Lemme know, I want what you lot want. :)
So, how is everyone doing? And how is everyone enjoying the roleplay thus far? I know we haven't gotten that far into it just yet, but I think the posts up to this point have all been very enjoyable and fun to read. You've all done a good job portraying your characters, how they think, feel and act - I always look forward to reading the next post from each of you. :)

Hopefully, I'll be able to do a good enough job portraying and differentiating the NPCs, so they don't all get very same-y and bland once we get to meeting and interacting with all of them.
Collab with OwO posted. I wouöd've posted more in response to Ayame, Vertigo. But honsetly, the post was already nearly 8,500 characters long, and like I said with the collab I made with Risque, I want to try and keep the length down to a more... Manageable, level.

For this reason, I'll address Ayame, Torran and whatever Leela gets up to in my next post!
At Warrior's Rest, West-north-western Orario

"Here's my application," she said, "may I ask that you bring it to your god?"

The pallum with the bags stopped, turned around and looked at the human. Confused. her expression was that of being both puzzled and amused at the same time. Without a word she trotted back to the black haired human girl, set down one of her bags and then plucked the scrap of paper. She didn't so much as glance at, or take a peek, at what was actually written - but rather just put the little paper-piece down into one bag, before picking up the one she'd set down.

"Alrighty, if that's what ya want." She said, smiling gingerly, then turned on her heel and went on to proceed inside the building.

For what felt like a long time, but was actually at most a couple of minutes, nothing happened. Then there was some sort of noise or commotion from within the building in question - though exactly what was causing it or why was unclear. Regardless, it simmered down ventually, and soon the front door swung open again. However, this time it was not the pallum girl, but rather two other figures who emerged out of the doorway. One was a rather large, old-looking man dressed in dark clothes, with an eyepatch over one eye and a grim expression on his face. The other was a young looking woman in a stylish and elegant ensemble, with long blonde hair and a serene expression on her face.

The two walked out of the building and approached the girl in the many-layered clothes. The bigger man trailing slightly behind the woman. As they got closer, it was apparent that the woman was holding the girl's scrap of paper in one of her hands, the paper slightly creased and wrinkled though - likely from the pallum's careless handling of it. Once within an agreeable distance from the applicant, the pair stopped and gave her a once-over, eyes taking in and judging, measuring and analyzing this newcomer.

"So, you want to join our Familia?" The elderly genetleman said, voice low and deep, but still clear and audible. "Why'd you choose this one?" He added, almost as an after-thought.

The blonde woman said nothing however, merely standing next to her much taller cohort and listening, waiting.

"Here's my application," she said, "may I ask that you bring it to your god?"

The blonde woman said nothing however, merely standing next to her much taller cohort and listening, waiting.

Meanwhile, the pair before the human girl had stood in complete silence and listened to what she had to say. Once she finished her blather and myriad reasons, desires, wishes and subpar praise, the two looked at each other. The blonde woman raised a single eyebrow at the large, elderly chienthrope, who's face was the same as when they had first spoken. He nodded slightly and looked at the girl with black hair once more, narrowing his eyes and speaking more sternly this time.

"You could write a book in any Familia, the blessings of the Gods are all equal in the end." He folded his arms. "What you offer are duties and talents that Lady Athena already has and performs personally." The large, muscular senior citizen seemed to loom over the poor girl, like a towering goliath looking down upon something small and insignificant.

however, before the behemoth completely squashed the poor woman with his immense pressure, the blonde woman raised a hand and looked at him with a... Neutral, expression on her face.

"Come now, Grent. She wishes to do something that benefits everyone who delves into the dungeon. And an extra pair of hands never hurts to have." She spoke calmly, but not necessarily kindly. "Dear girl, if you want to become one of my Children, I won't turn you away. Your goal is a most curious, but welcome, one indeed." She smiled slightly. "However, I must know what you are capable of, not in words or writing, but by your actions and efforts." The Goddess moved closer to the young woman before her, looking her square in the eyes. "I will offer you my blessing, and you'll in turn spend 7 days proving to me and my other children what you're capable of. Prove to them, and to me, that you're someone we'd be proud to call a member of, and someone who'd be useful to our little Familia."

The old man either growled or grumbled something under his breath. Athena's eyes subtly slid to give him a glance, before returning to the girl before her once more.

"But it'll be up to you to figure out how to prove this to us on your own. That will be your trial and initiation. So what do you say, girl?" The Goddess' smile was only ever so slight, but she spoke with sincerity and offered the black-haired mess infront of her an extended hand.

Despite the large man's pressure, Dahlia was... unfazed, to say the least. His threat level had gone completely over her head. Really, if he outright stated that she was ineffectual, weird, or any other pejorative, then Dahlia would be shrunken into herself. His stern voice was, to the book-dwelling woman, just his ordinary speaking tone. If only he were a touch more direct, then Dahlia would respond with more than a confused shrug.

"Oh, uh..." Dahlia sputtered. Really, it was that easy? Had she known, she wouldn't have studied so much on the various gods. Oh well. "I will say yes."

The offer was indeed a fair one. A week to prove herself was more than enough. Really, it was more in order to not absolutely moff everything up and show that you weren't about to be a level-0-for-lifer. Dahlia had the confidence. Even if she had very little practical experience, her theoretical experience contained lifetimes of knowledge. Blessed be the books that she read in preparation for her labyrinth runs.

Still, it was time to seal their deal. With her gloved hand, she went and extended her hand out to the woman, er, goddess. Though, it wasn't exactly a handshake. Rather than that, Dahlia had responded with the opposite hand. Usually, for a hand shake or anything of that sort, the two parties would both use their left or right hand. Dahlia didn't and, as a result, sort of had her hand placed upon the goddess' like a wet noodle. It was a gold star for effort as she fumbled around on top of her hand a bit trying to figure out how a handshake worked.

"So, uh, what now?"

The Goddess laughed lightly, covering her mouth with her free hand in an effort to not offend. The fumbling handshake and the young girl's rather socially awkward behavior was apparently somewhat charming or endearing to Athena.

"Now we head inside, so I can bestow the Blessing of the Gods upon you. After that-" She paused and turned on he heel, gesturing towards the house - which the large chienthrope was already walking back towards. "-you're fre to choose whatever you want to do in order to prove yourself over the next few days."

With that, the Goddess too began walking back towards the large house, at a slow and unhurried pace.
Hooray~ We get to keep both Vertigo and the spoiled fox! ^_^

On that same note; I know someone who's going to get some early excersise very soon... An excersise in running for your life.

I unfortunately did not finish up Doneth's sheet today. After work I pretty much fell asleep right after getting home, slept 'til dinner-time, ate fuds and hhen.. I think I forgot? I honestly don't know what caused it to slip my mind at all, frankly.

So honestly, I've got no excuse for why it isn't done. On the bright side, nobody's met him yet, so it isn't that pressing to finish it, but I still need to do it regardless. I'll try to finish it before I go to sleep after work tomorrow, so as to avoid this mistake repeating itself all week.

EDIT:

I've finished up Doneth's sheet. Now time for sleeps.
Torran truly is a marvel of ingenuity, isn't he? xD
Great post, Duoya. Will contact you with details about a collab post soon-ish.

Too tired and sweaty and gross to think straight at the moment, so ridiculously hot and annoying today. x_x

EDIT:
Torran is a precious, precious cinnamonroll, and we must protect him at all costs.
If you can guarantee that you can post tomorrow, I won't kick you out - nobody can control getting injured and/or sick. However, if you don't post anything tomorrow, I'll have to send Ayame off. ;<
No idea, I don't particularly believe tgat dreams hold any deeper meaning, and rather that they're just a jumble of random subconscious nonsense that manifests while your brain isn't focusing on anything important.

Anywho, I've made the initial parts of the last character sheet and posted it, but like with Brozar's sheet it isn't done just yet. I'll add the finishing touches tomorrow once I get home from work. ^^

I bet everyones going to love this guy... xD
Name: Doneth Skrayer
Alias: Don, Donny, Peeper-Don, Cowardon, Loud-mouth Skrayer
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Race: Human

Appearance:
Doneth is a young, below-average height, below-average build, somewhat pale and moderately attractive human lad. His voice is youthful and energtic, though sometimes a bit raspy. He has short-to-medium hair with bangs along his forehead, dyed grey - because he thinks it looks sleek and improves his chances with the ladies. He dresses in rather unremarkable, affordable clothes and boots for day-to-day, and wears a set of extra, heavy-padded cloth armor when adventuring. He also lugs around a very large, very old and worn backpack when dungeoneering.

Height: 5'10" / 177 cm
Weight: 143 lb / 65 kg
Eye color: Green
Hair color: Brown (originally), Grey (dyed)

Personality:
Doneth is everything his father wasn't - which is bad, for Doneth. He's a womanzing casanova who believes himself to be far more attractive and appealing than he actually is. His belief that he's a suave charmer is also rather humorous, considering how often he puts his foot in his mouth while talking to girls. In addition to this one of many flaws, he's a coward and deathly afraid of monsters, making him a rather useless ally inn the dungeon - albeit most time he's only a pack-mule anyway. Of course, Doneth doesn't acknowledge this and will oft loudly and proudly declare the many heroic deeds and accomplishments he's achieved while exploring.

In addition to cowardice, being a braggart and a failed Don Juan, Doneth is a miser who is extremely stingy and penny-pinching when it comes to money. He absolutely refuses to pay full price for anything and would rather walk away empty-handed than actually buy something if it wasn't haggled down in price. This, of course, isn't a bad thing per se, as he's efficient and good at saving money, but it also makes him a bit tedious to go shopping with - not to mention his constant lectures to fellow familia-members about their spending-habits can be a bit grating.

He loves being the center of attention and being surrounded by adoration - wich is rarely the case, but at the same time his ego and confidence is easily bruised, or outright shattered. If someone can expose his exaggerations or prove that he didn't do something he claims, he becomes incredibly flustered and will usually flee the scene, red-faced and teary-eyed while screaming something cliché like; "I won't forget this!"

Despite all this, Doneth has his good siddes. He's an excellent chef and cooks almost daily for his Familia. He's fair and can be relied on to always distribute the earnings of a dungeon-crawl fairly after the Valis is tallied. He's also very loyal to both Athena and the Familia, considering them to be his family (given that he lost his own), and treats all the members are sisters, brothers, cousins and uncles or aunts. That doesn't mean he isn't a brat sometimes, but he does care for everyone around him.

Likes: Pretty girls, Money, Gaudy things, Self-preservation, His father, Bargains, Being idolized, Being praised, Being complimented, Mushroom-dishes
Dislikes: Danger, Pain, Bugs, Intimidating individuals, Tough women, Being alone, Monsters, Being rejected
Hobbies: Attempted Womanizing, Grandifying own exploits, Cooking, Peeping on the girls bath

Background:
Doneth is the son of Rodryn Skrayer, the former Captain of the Athena Familia. He joined the Familia as early as the age of 8, but wasn't given a Falna until his 12th birthday, on account of being far too young to go into the dungeon. His mother died in illness shortly after his birth, but she too had been a member of the Familia, just like his dad. As such, one could say that Doneth was born into the Familia and was always destined to be a part of it. Sadly, soon after he had received his Falna, the failed expedition tragedy occured, causing the deaths of most of the familia's members.

Though his father, Grentiloch and another (now retired) member managed to make it out of the dungeon, his father died from his numerous injuries shortly after. This left a deep scar on Doneth, as he had always viewed his father as this great, indestructible hero who could take on anything. To know that such a man, the man he revered the most, had been bested by the dungeon, was both a shock and a nightmare to the young boy. Not to mention the depression that Athena suffered due to all this, thus furthering Doneth's fear and anxiety towards the underground maze.

As a result of all this, despite having been a part of adventuring groups and being in a Familia for six years, Doneth hasn't even advanced a single level yet. He'll only venture into the depths if he's forced to by Athena, or if accompanied by one of the stronger Familia-members, and even then he's the first to recommend retreating or leaving whenever the opportunity presents itself.
