My therapist mentioned referring me to a psychiatrist for anxiety medication, then at the next appt. said it wasn't a good idea as it doesn't the issue. I would've loved the temporary relief though...

Started calisthenics today; not to lose weight, but to get toned and get a little stronger. It's a 5x/week type deal ChatGPT drew out for me, but my snap, crackle, pop knees sure do love to complain..

Name: Jennifer "JJ" Jureau

Gender: Female

Age: 27

Place of Birth: New York City, New York

Sexuality: Bi-curious at most.

Relationship Status: Single

Occupation: Mathematician

Power: Regenerative healing

Cost of power's use: Instead of making someone else's wounds and injuries disappear altogether, Jen will absorb some of the damage if not all of it.

Appearance: JJ stands at about 5'7 and has a tongue piercing. Character image

Skills: To say she's good with numbers is a big understatement. JJ also has some computer code knowledge. Additionally, on her down time, she enjoys some kickboxing training.

Personality: JJ is a very rational person, mainly due to her specific upbringing at home. She stopped believing in Santa at a very young age, and when her friends were mesmerized by something they didn't quite understand, Jen always ruined the magic by providing the most logical answer she could up come with. Needless to say, she more or less remains the same person today. She's obviously not a woman of faith, and she never was. Jen is as much of a book nerd as she is a social butterfly, although depending on the circumstances, sometimes one trait trumps the other by such a difference, that it leaves those around her feeling somewhat perplexed.

History: Jennifer was born and raised in New York City. She comes from a family of intellectuals--her mother is a neurosurgeon, and her father is an engineer. Being that she's an only child, JJ was heavily influenced by her parents' passion for science from an early age. She had a small group of friends, but she also spent a lot of time behind books. Maybe this side of her stemmed from her environment, or maybe it was genetic. But more than likely, it was a combination of the two.

Jen's "drug of choice", so to speak, was numbers. Her favorite class all throughout elementary, middle, and high school was always math. In high school, she was offered various scholarships for universities, and she accepted them despite the fact that her parents could very easily afford her education. At the ripe age of 25, Jen earned her doctorate degree in Mathematics from NYU. That same year, she moved to Buckehead after she accepted a position at a local research university.

All was going great for Jennifer until that ill-fated Saturday evening. Being that she and her parents made a rather decent donation to the Wildlife Foundation hosting the gala that evening, they were invited to the event as a gesture of gratitude. Her parents still live in New York, thus it was only Jennifer who was in attendance from the small family of three; a decision that she'll forever regret.
I may or may not reuse Jen Jen, maybe just her ability. We'll see.
The atmosphere outside was eerily quiet, a little too unnerving for Jen's comfort. She reassured herself by placing a hand on the knife as she slowly took some steps forward, her eyes darting in every direction to hopefully detect some form of movement to avoid being caught off guard. She walked parallel to the hotel and then to the buildings that followed it as she made sure to look back every so often.

But then, out of the blue and somehow synchronized, these "zombies" started appearing. They were everywhere. Coming out from behind cars, buildings, etc. Jen instantly felt pure and unrelenting fear, her fight or flight response apparently damaged as she stood frozen in place. Maybe if she didn't move they wouldn't notice her, right? If only...

The zombies, as slow-paced as they moved, started to close in on Jen. She pressed her back against the building, as if that would somehow save her. She had completely forgotten about the dinner knife as well, but in hindsight, it really wouldn't have done much to aid in her survival. Just then, the door Jen was leaning on opened up. The woman lost her footing, nearly falling on her back had it not been for the quick hand that wrapped around her arm to pull her inside. The door was closed and locked again just as quickly, and Jen stood still in the darkness.

"Are you alright?" asked the person who had just saved her life. Jen nodded in reply. "Yes, I am." When her eyes adjusted, she saw a man who appeared to be in his 40s despite of how young he sounded. They both introduced themselves. Lucas motioned for Jen to follow him upstairs. Apparently there were a couple more people in the seemingly empty building.
That's not what I meant! Dammit...

I'm all grown up!
The young woman was actually very relieved when she was offered a seat at the stranger's table. The fact that she at the very least expected the man to lash out at her for her foolish mistake spoke volumes of the experiences she's had ever since her arrival to the Zone. Not that all encounters were negative—just the majority of them.

"Yes, I am...thank you," she said as she took possession of her bag once more and pulled out a chair to sit directly across the man whose privacy she hadn't invaded. Amelia hugged her bag in front of her as she very casually leaned back on the chair, the instant relief she felt made obvious as she closed her eyes for a moment before very slowly sitting up to properly address the strangers.

"I'm Amelia, but you're more than welcomed to call me Amy. That's what everybody does, unless they're extremely pissed off at me—you know, like a parent using their child's full name when they're scolding them."

Amelia gave them a slight smile at the simplicity of the small satisfaction she felt using such analogy.

The concept of time was something that almost always seemed to elude Kahleni. Her only way of keeping any sort of schedule was to simply rely on the delivery of her daily meal; that which consisted of bread, some soup if they were feeling generous, and water. On this particular day, however, she was still sleeping when a couple of guards made their way into her cell. Kahleni's first thought was that she had overslept, but her groggy state implied otherwise.

"Get up and turn around," ordered one of the guards who had a very deep voice. Just then, Kahleni's heart started racing as her mind tried to come up with a good enough reason as to why they were taking her out of her cell. The young girl stood to her feet and turned around, and as the guard roughly pulled her hands behind her back, she could only assume they were going to kill her. The fact that she only had minutes to live scared the hell out of her, but then again, what did she have to live for? The hope that maybe one day she will be free again? That very thin thread of hope was already too fragile to continue hanging on to it for much longer.

Kahleni gasped in surprise when they pulled her short hair back without warning to place something around her mouth. The guard ordered her not to move, although she knew better than to show any sign of resistance. After all was said and done, Kahleni's hands and feet were shackled, and she had a plain-looking muzzle secured to the back of her head. She was then taken out of her cell, and the poor girl could barely keep her eyes open. The outside of Kahleni's cell was too bright for her eyes, those that had lived in darkness for the majority of her life, but she squinted--it was the best she could do, as they marched her away through very unfamiliar territory.
"Uh yeah, sure," Amy said, lowering herself to one side and reaching for her bag to hand it off to Grayson, "I can use all the help I can get, but just for the time being until I get used to the ship. Shouldn't take me long..."

Amy was somewhat impatient to get to her room. If she mingled for too long with the rest of her crew mates, then they would start to become curious and would probably ask some questions to which she didn't have an answer to. After all, the majority of her work consisted of sneaking around and avoiding detection, not lying through her teeth just to avoid suspicion.

"By the way, they said I was assigned to room 103."

@Dark Light Oh great, I've been reduced to a secretary. I'm filing a complaint with the EEOC.

But really, I was thinking maybe making her a linguist? She could translate voice communications. I'd have to tweak my CS, but as always, we'll see what the almighty @Crossfire has to say.

Also, I'm terribly sick and I have to run some errands, but I'll more than likely have something up later today.

EDIT: @Dark Light Don't tell me what to do!
Awesome. Let us know whenever you've come up with something.
