I think 4 is a terrible Fallout game (and a mediocre RPG at best), but I really love playing it as a survival game. That'll probably change when I can finally afford The Long Dark, but modding my game to no end by adding different survival features and removing the issues with survival (no saving) really improves the experience. The game never lets me save if I add mods that add crafting recipes tho, so those mods are out of the question.

I've heard positive things about The Long Dark, watched a friend of mine stream it a while back and he really enjoyed it - though he's also Canadian, so the game more or less was developed for him. If you like survival experiences, have you considered checking out the S.T.A.L.K.E.R series? Think of them as the Russian Fallout. Metro 2033 is also a good option too.

You know what the most damning part is? I kind of want to do the same, because I am blindly optimistic about video games and try to find positives in them whenever I can. I loved the character of Kellogg, by the way. I wish he was the main antagonist, that dude was badass. His whole backstory was awesome.

Considering the fact that there's only been a single piece of Elder Scrolls merch and the rest is all Fallout related, I highly doubt we'll get an Elder Scrolls announcement.

At this point, I'll be happy with a new Fallout game - as long as it's as far removed from Fallout 4 as possible. Thirty hours of my life I squandered in that game, and doing things that my character shouldn't have any knowledge how to do. For example, my years working as a lawyer mean that I'm able to easily operate power armour!

I heard that the new Prey was actually pretty good, all I know about the game is that you can turn into a coffee cup and roll around. Oh, and some weird Alan Wake monsters too. That's literally the length and breadth of my knowledge when it comes to the game. Speaking of the stream, did they announce anything to do with Elder Scrolls yet? Or are they still going all in on the failed MMO?

That's what was disappointing about the reboot, the fact they had the aesthetics all nailed down, the soundtrack (not the Skrillex theme, by the way - which I felt was far from subtle and too in your face and obnoxious), the art direction, they even had Brian Cox turn up and lend his voice acting talent to the game.

All the right components were there, and I wasn't even too bothered that they made it into a first-person shooter, it's just that it wasn't a particularly good first-person shooter. If it had the depth of the original isometric strategy game it was based on, then I would have been far more forgiving of it.
