The last Battlefield game I wholly enjoyed that wasn’t a Bad Company spinoff was probably Battlefield 2. I know that mention might seem odd because a lot of people enjoyed Battlefield 3 and I understand Battlefield 2 has been overrated from hell and back, but it’s the only one that still comes to mind that isn’t BC or 1942 that really defined my “battlefield experience”. I miss a lot of the mechanics and less streamlined contemporization of the series. I guess in a lot of ways the only game that I’ve played that carries on BF2’s concepts today is probably ARMA and that makes me really fucking sad.
Bad Company 2 was one of those games that I could never see myself enjoying, yet when I played it with some friends back in the day was actually an enjoyable and fun experience. Bad Company 2: Vietnam was decent too, not sure if you played that one. I think the last Battlefield game that I played was Battlefield 3, played it for a little bit, had fun flying around in a jet and that was it for me. Haven't touched the series since, and will likely not do so again. Maybe it's a sign that I'm getting a bit old, but shooters don't really do much for me any more.
