I'm sorry... I can't keep going like this. I need solidity. Figure out what you want and why... and then talk to me. I will always love you. And yes. even she knows that.

I'm not asking you to forgive me. I'll never understand or forgive myself. And if I die, so help me, I'll laugh at myself for being an idiot. There's one thing I do know and that is that I love you.

Knowing he might regret listening to the voicemail Seraphina left behind for him, as it would only be a distraction, the Angel raised his phone up to his ear, letting the message play out. The more he listened, the more color drained from his face. Something had happened - something absolutely terrible. And she was screaming. She needed him. What if...

”Dad? What is it?”

His daughter's unexpected voice nearly had him dropping his phone from surprise. He fumbled with the phone, cutting off the voicemail and hastily stuffed his phone back into his pockets.

"Cassie... listen to me. I need you to fill in for me for a while, okay?" He looked her over. Technically what he was asking her to do was illegal - but most everyone at the hospital knew who she was; knew that she studied under her father. He just hoped that no one would think twice about allowing her to check a temperature here and there and file some medical reports without him around. Not that he was going to tell anyone that he would be leaving.

”Daddy?”

He turned his body fully towards his daughter and got down on one knee, putting both hands on her forearms and looked up at her over the tops of his glasses.

"Something has come up and I have to go take care of it. So while I'm gone, I need you to take Sebastian's paperwork to the help desk counter and let them know that he has been released and that his parents need to be notified. In the notes section, I need yo to put that he is excused from school today and tomorrow and needs plenty of rest and water - no exciting activities. Prescribe him a two week supply of pain killers - you know how to do my signature. Gage is going to be getting him home, so Miranda is still with Syleste, okay? And after all of that is done, and I'm still not back, go ahead and check on Mr. Jensen for me, will ya? He's just had glass removed from his eye yesterday and is still in recovery but he's been doing fine. A standard checkup will do. Any questions just give me a call, but I really have to run, sweetheart." Xerxes stood himself back up and gave her a long, pressing kiss to her forehead, as though he never wanted to let go, cradling the back of her head. Whatever Seraphina called him about... it wasn't good. And given the activity from the night beforehand, he could only imagine that whatever happened, it might be related somehow.

"I love you Cassie. And I'm very proud of you." he told her as he turned to leave, hurrying down the halls to exit the hospital to find his car where he had parked it. He unlocked the door and hopped inside quickly, not even bothering to throw on his seat belt as he started it up. He had to focus - Seraphina never said where she was, though his best guess would have been at the vet. Still, he didn't want to waste any time by going to the wrong place.

Alright, Seraphina... where are you? He cast a telepathic line out, trying to reach her mind. Once he could make contact with her there, not only would he know that she was still alive, but where he could find her. I'm coming, I just need to find you.
@December Go for it. We're on a roll!

Nodding his head as Sebastian confided in his exhaustion to him, Xerxes picked up Sebastian's chart at the end of his bed and looked over the numbers. At least, with him, he didn't have to worry about an improperly placed IV. The numbers looked good, and better yet, Sebastian didn't have any wounds that required any surgery from the night before. All in all, he looked rather healthy, all things considered.

"I'm just going to check a few things on you - like your temperature and blood pressure - and make sure everything's steady before I go ahead and clear you." he said, putting the clip board back down and went to retrieve a few of his tools to check the boy over properly. Once returning, he checked Sebastian's temperature followed by his pulse and blood pressure before taking a small flashlight to Sebastian's eyes and watching the pupils dilate a few times, checking for any kind of head trauma. He could hear Gage shuffling quietly behind him as he made his way over to Syleste, but didn't think much more of it. He even tried to drown out the parts of Miranda's conversation with everyone on what had happened to his daughter. She was a growing girl - she was independent. She could handle herself. She didn't need him to know where she was at all times - hell she was almost an adult!

He tuned her out. He tuned them all out, letting them talk as friends, until Xerxes has his stethoscope was on Sebastian's chest - checking on his heart and lungs - before Miranda's voice cut through the air.

"Oh for fucks sake!"

Her voice, amplified through his use of the medical instrument, rang in his ears uncomfortably to the point where Xerxes had to sit up and remove the ear pieces and rubbed at his eardrum on the left side for a few moments. He opened his mouth to say something, but it seemed that something else had already begun to unfurl between Gage and Miranda.

His pocket was vibrating - a phone call. He couldn't check it right then, however. It would be very unprofessional even if it was important. He let the call go, writing down the last few numbers on Sebastian's chart. He would release Sebastian and then take a look at it. Maybe is was Cassandra. He almost smiled at the thought.

"I had stayed here all night. Only leaving to try to save what belongings i could from the fire my ex foster parents started. I'm trying my best Miri"

Sighing, Xerxes turned to Sebastian.

"Everything looks good, Sebastian. I'm clearing you from the hospital but just in case of any lingering mental trauma I want you to stay home from school for the next few days, alright? I'll forward your parents the medical information they will need to clear you." he told the boy before turning to Gage.

He could practically feel it - as if it were his own emotions. Gage was about ready to pop, and with Xerxes no longer having any medical business to tend to in the room... he simply hated to admit it but he did not trust the boy in his current state to remain within the room. Not with Miranda.

"Gage... why don't you help Sebastian out of the hospital and get him home. The walk and fresh air will be good for you." he said as pleasantly as he could manage while keeping a firm tone. It wasn't a request. "Miranda, keep an eye on Syleste for a few moments, will you? I've got a few calls to make and a quick sweep but I'll be back to check on her in just a few." he gave the girls a nod (knowing full well that Syleste could not see it) and headed out of the hospital room, fishing in his pocket for his phone to see the missed call and voice mail that had been left. But it wasn't Cassandra's name that was displayed on the screen, and his heart jumped a bit.

"Seraphina?"
Anyway, here's Caleb :)

Aww no pissy Gage post until Friday? Well shit... I guess this means I need to make new characters so that there is at least something going on...
Marcel Gates

Location: The Obstacle Course; Camp Half-Blood.
Interacting With: James Wolfe.

It seemed as though she had arrived just on time. Ky' vie and Deon had just reached the top of the Obstacle Tower by the time she moseyed into the area. The stands were completely full, so she opted to remain standing, leaning against the side of the stands to give her a chance to finish her cigarette. Not to mention... all of the shapes, colors and vibrations emanating from such a large group of people congregated together... she didn't like it. It made her feel sick.

She got a few dirty looks from her fellow campers who were less than thrilled to be around the smoke, but Marcel had learned long ago to just ignore them, or quirk an eyebrow and make a "so do something about it" kind of face. Most of the time, they just left her alone. But she wasn't the only one smoking, it appeared. James Wolfe was standing not too far from her position, finishing up his own cigarette and observing the scene before him just as quietly as she was. She knew his name only in passing. He was the new kid, after all - everyone knew his name because everyone flung him shit. Well... everyone meaning between the Hermes and Ares cabin. One just for fun, the other for sheer bullying. Whatever. Neither was her scene.

Maybe it had to do with the fact that James and Bexley were the closest family she had at the camp, save for Erin. They were the four children of the big three (wait, where there others? Maybe Poseidon kids? Hell... she didn't know... nor particularly care), and yet James was the only one she could really stand to be around for long periods at a time. Bexley was far too high maintenance, Erin and she had almost nothing in common... but James... James was a cool dude. He reminded her a lot of herself before- well, she wasn't going to think about that.

Ignoring the outcome of what was happening on the tower completely, Marcel nodded over towards James' direction, acknowledging him being there, which was a lot more than most people got out of her.

"What a surprise," he had muttered to himself, not counting on anyone hearing. Funny, from here, it looked like the two bull heads were tying... but that was just seconds after he had made his verbal observation. Marcel, in turn, just chuckled and took another puff of her cigarette. She really didn't care either way. Not to mention she was riding on a pretty good buzz that had her in higher spirits than she normally would have been this early in the day.

"And yet these dogs all come and watch every week, expecting something to change." she replied, speaking only to him and once again ignoring the offended and pressing glares she was getting from those who were trying to enjoy the rest of the game. She scoffed. "Pathetic. Those two have been in camp years longer than anyone else here. Something big has to happen to throw one of them off their game. Frankly... I'd rather watch those two face off a hell hound than this boring, routine shit." Marcel took another drag, pausing a moment as though thinking over the possibility. She'd have to talk to Erin about that one. Between the two of them... and the... "loving" nature of their father... it might just be a fucking possibility...
James Wolfe

Location: The Obstacle Tower; Camp Half-Blood.
Interacting With: No one in particular

The worst part of every day for Jamie was the morning. Even at nineteen he still craved the long hours of sleep that he could get during his "teenage" years. He was a growing boy! Or... at least... that's what his testosterone levels kept telling him. Sadly, he had things to do these days, and that required him to be up earlier than he would like. Although he seemed to be a little slower than most this morning. When he was finally able to shrug off the blanket of sleep he had been tucked into, he immediately knew what he needed. Coffee. After some tinkering in the kitchen, Jamie was shuffling through the dining and living area of the Cabin One in his pajamas (a white wife beater and loose, light gray boxers) with a large mug of coffee. It didn't take him long to realize that everyone was already awake and starting activities, even his half-sister Bexley. He didn't entirely know what to make of her yet, she was so quiet and distant that it was hard to learn about her. Hell, sometimes she even slept on the roof for some reason. Whatever. He wasn't one to judge.

Jamie left the mug on the kitchen table after taking a couple, long sips and made himself look presentable. Well... at least his boxers were covered by a pair of pants and the wife beater having a burgundy, baggy hoodie thrown over it. The hot shower woke him up beforehand and after getting dressed, he was starting to feel like his normal self again. Or at least... somewhat alive. Seriously... whoever invented mornings needed a stern talking to. Apollo, maybe? He was the God of the sun, after all...

Before leaving his cabin, James (finally) finished his coffee, making sure to clean the cup afterwards. No sense in Bexley laying into him for his messy habits afterwards. While putting the cup away, his mind seemed to suddenly connect as it remembered that there was supposed to be an announcement at the Obstacle Tower today - hopefully he hadn't slept through it! The disappointed look on Dionysus' face would be punishment enough!

On his way to the Tower, Jamie grasped the pack of cigarettes in his back pocket and wiggled it out. He returned it back to his pocket after a cigarette had been lit and placed between his lips, lighting it quickly after with a lighter he had tucked away in his opposite pocket.

Jamie still didn't feel completely at home at camp yet. He hadn't even attempted to make friend yet either - just the occasional small talk or joke every now and then. But then again... everything here seemed to be very surface-based.

When he arrived at the Tower, he kept quiet and observed. There was a group gathered on the ground making small talk and it seemed like things were getting pretty intense at the Tower. Looking up towards the top he noticed Ky'vie, Deon and some other really good looking chick he might want to get to know some day. He was new, sure, and he didn't quite know names or how the Gods' family tree worked. Hell... did he even care? No... no not really. No one here was fully blood related to him. Just... half. Ish.

It seemed like there was a tie between Ky' vie and Deon - two names he had learned about almost immediately upon arrival.

"What a surprise..." he said boredly to himself, though to no one in particular.

It looked pretty neck and neck between the two of them, though he was far from surprised. It was always those two... and honestly... it was getting rather stale. Not that he'd ever have a go at the Tower or anything. That was just a bit beyond his comfort zone. But... even though Deon was a prick... especially since Deon was a prick... Jamie was hoping for any winner other than him. Ky'vie had clearly shown that she was athletic, at this point it was just boring to try to beat her on this course, she had too much experience. Not to mention, the reigning champ. So... what would be more exciting? A champ beating a dick, or a dick beating a champ? He was seriously conflicted... but in the most uninterested way possible.

Exhaling a cloud of smoke with a sigh, Jamie slid his hands into his pockets and looked around, waiting for whatever this big announcement would be... and why it was so important he was awake at this hour of the day.
Deon Alexander

Location: The Obstacle Tower; Camp Half-Blood.
Interacting With: Ky' vie Morgan

Deon shook his head at Ky' vie's attempt at a reply. Seriously, if that was all she could come up with, she was quickly losing her touch. Then again he couldn't exactly blame her - going up against him, she was bound to crack under the pressure some time or another.

Feeling the foothold vibrate beneath him, Deon had only a fraction of a second to tighten his sweaty palms around his hand holds before the foothold was pulled out from underneath him completely. Gritting his teeth, relying on his arm and abdomen muscles to keep him upright, he swung his foot around, hoping to catch on another foothold. When he could find none, he tilted his head upwards. He could see the top of the climbing wall, he just had to apply himself and just keep going. With a fourth of his weight dead and hanging, his arm and stomach muscles bulged as he used his opposite foot to push himself upwards, his hands letting go of the holds to instead grab onto the next holds above him. He grunted out in pain as he felt a muscle in his left arm getting pulled far more than it should have been, but with an extra heave and powerful reach of his right arm, he was able to grab hold of the ledge and pull himself up onto the spinning platform.

Gasping for breath and gritting his teeth through the pain, Deon forced his body to come out of it's hunched over position to look up at the prize. Large beads of sweat rolled down the sides of his face, some catching on his eyebrow or nose, some getting lost in the indentation of the thick scar he had reaching around his head. His eyes looked then to his left, forcing some of the beads of sweat to fling off of his body in the motion, and spotted Ky' vie pulling herself up and onto the final platform.

"Oh like hell you are!" Deon grunted to himself. Ignoring the searing pain in his left arm, Deon took a running start to the final platform, jumping up and kicking his feet against the wall to give him that extra foot of height before his hands met with the ledge. His height definitely had an advantage over this portion than Ky' vie's shorter stature, and by the time he reached the top, he and Ky' vie were headed towards the ring at the same time. His hand reached out, and just half a second after Ky' vie plucked the ring from the helmet, his hand clasped over the ring on the opposite side she had been holding it.

She didn't even have time to register that technically, she had won. Nor did the crowd have time to register who had gotten the ring first. Deon laughed out loud, a wide, smug grin crossing over his lips as he stared Ky' vie down with a rather amused expression and a slight wiggle from his eyebrow.

"Jynx. You owe me a kiss." he jested, but his hold on the ring would not ease up. "You're the supposed champion of the Obstacle Tower, yeah? It'd be a shame to lose to me now, with so many people watching..." He was trying to get at something, it was written clear on his face. When she didn't say anything, he let her in on his thoughts. "Kiss me, and I'll let go. Simple as that." Sure Deon liked winning, but in his current mood, there were a few other things he liked even more. The Obstacle Tower had never really been his game, anyway. Too much luck was involved. Capture the Flag, however - that was all skill and power - that was his territory. He could stand to let her win... just this once... maybe...
