your looking at the Island one? Any particular reason? Knowing what your looking for in the RP will help me make it more enjoyable.
Alright, so three options, with a few notes!
Option one: an immensely large city with many factions fighting inside and outside of the city, on a single Massive landmass. with a wide variety of Character options, including races factions and types
Option two: A small Island-chain that will serve similar to a DnD-style party based "Dungeon"
Option three: a large continent with many petty kingdoms and chiefdom's, where the players are capable of ruling or following a ruler,
as a few notes, there isn't a lot of details because I will only be doing one of the options, based on popular vote.
to raise some interest there is a small, but interesting list of races and cultures for this,
Humans (Bland)
Elves (Many types)
Ritter-Elves (A joke on Night Elves, Ritter meaning Knight in german)
Ashen Elves (A tribute to a friends race)
Arcanis Elves (Magic Elves, Yay)
High Elves (Bland)
Drow (Dark Elves)
Dwarves (Many Sub-types)
Surface Dwarves (Outcasts and colonists)
Fortress Dwarves (they live in giant walking mountains!)
Deep Dwarves (Dwarves who dislike the surface life)
Hyphon (Lizardmen, With a twist!)

@Zahrale I was thinking more along the lines of torture , ie give your name up or suffer. If only one order can be followed at a time, it's a simple matter of making sure there's a command to be obeyed, even passively, at all times. In the case of go vs stay, it sounds like...well saying nothing would mean that staying wins, so I guess that means itactualy allows you to choose.
Ooh but this leaves a hugeloophole,and I see real potential for using it! *excited*
Just one issue with that Theory...
When Orders Do Not contradict, are linked, or you are given a Deadline.
I.E "I want This Castle Built In One Day"... in which case you have no choice but to pull off the near improbable, and build a castle in a Day, Or "<Insert Name>, Go here, and deliver this message, on your way back visit here and retrieve this, While your out you are not to talk to <Insert Alias>, You have Four Days" In which case you Have To Complete All of the requirements of the command, Within the time set.
In short; the name rule has a lot of loopholes and flaws, UNLESS your smart and use it right, In which it is a flawless tool in which people are Machines
@Zahrale I don't think if you're forced to give your name under duress that it counts as willingly, but I'll totally accept that it works as giving your name. =P
So what happens with conflicting orders and/or promises?
Okay, To be Very Clear.
1:Being given options near the end of a fight is called "Parley", this means they do not want to kill you and are giving you the option of continuing the fight in your own honor and pride, in which your likely going to die, and earn a very worth-while funeral, due to being a Warrior. OR you can accept the terms offered as options. I.E. Trading your Name for your Life. This is yes, a hostile situation, but none the less in the cruel world of the fae this is a Bargain.
2: You cannot be forced to follow more than one order at a time, you are allowed to twist as Many loopholes as possible, as long as the command is followed out in the end, and Orders cannot Conflict or be Impossible. In Example; "Go" "No, Stay" from two masters, Neither Order will have any power over you as they Conflict. "Fly", If you are not a Fae who can fly this order has no power over you.

There's the answer you were looking for- If memory serves, runic correct me if im wrong, but i do believe it was agreed that One Fae cannot Steal the name of Another fae unless it was Willing Or Unknown- In such instance as; A servant Willingly telling you the name of their son/Daughter, Or you figuring out someones name Through means of Books, Pages, Riddles or the Like. This is because the Naming Rule would function more like a Oath of Fealty than say the (very retarded, Glad-it-was-forgotten,) Dragons Naming Rule, where the dragon, no matter how you gain its name would be forced to serve you mind body and soul no matter your demand...
But yes if the Fae knows your full name, and uses it, you are bound to answer to them, hear their 'Request'/'Demand', and fulfill said Request or demand, Or suffer consequences, due to the ancient Fae Magic that Binds said Rule.
This rule is only altered in Two Instances, 1: When a Promise or Deal is Involved, or 2: When a Trade Is Involved.
1; Promises are like law to the fae. You Cannot Break a Promise. It is Impossible. till the promise is fulfilled, or one of the parties of the promise has Perished. Promises can carry even more power if a name is used.
2; Trades are made more Valid and Solid if names are used, this also makes it impossible for you to Trade Back. In the case of a Deal, Such as "Your Name for My Protection" Yes, the ruler would be bound to Protect you, assuming the ruler made such a deal.
You Could threaten someone into giving you their name, I.e, "Give me your name or Die" As this is more of Trade or Deal.
@Ojo chan 42 Laria would not. Her parent was Fae, yes. But died before hand. Cylde would be under no obligation to give her name to Tegvan, though there would be reward if he did give it to Tegvan.
